  1. when you start adding winds to the second number (10x1 10x2 10x3 10x4 etc etc ) you are adding to the smoothness the of the response of the motor ,fast response is good in some types of car's (4wd cars on a high bite surface ) but not good for say a 2wd car on a dusty surface ,thats when you would start adding winds to your motor ,to cut down on that instant power , better control on less bite surface thx john

  3. ANTI ! if you are going to spray and its cold ,find a room heater,to warm up your paint space, a WARM! body is good and also warm up your paint, boil some water in a pan than take it off the flame after a few min put your spray can in the water let it warm up take it out after a few shake it up than put it back in the water repeat this a few time's and you should be good to go also make sure your body is clean ,nothing worse than a oily finger print, you can check out my showroom for some of my paint job's GOOD LUCK THX JOHN

  14. greg i dont post much but i'em on here reading everyday, i do alot of painting (see my showroom for some of my work) and i have encounterd alot of different paint problem's every type of paint that you paint with has a catalyst (cureing) some are a chem some are water ,and some are air.so every time you are going to paint you have to add that in with relation to your project type of material (ie) wood, metal ,plastic ,paper etc, etc, etcto the type of paint you are going to use,for example you would'nt really want to use a heavy chem catalyst on MOST! plastic due to the HEAT caused by the chem (catalyst) reacting with the air to force the drying process. most over the counter CAN! automotive paint's have a high part of catalyst to paint to ease the unknowledgeable consumer with use of the product. (in no way em i saying that your are unknowledgeable just trying to state a point)Than there is the primer issue not all primers are the same ,some primers will actually mess up a project due to reactions with the paint that is sprayed UPON! it ,and also on the starting product that it was painted on.i could go on for day's about the whole paint process, but we will save that for another day, after reading your question,is there a chance that you painted that body at night, are on a cold day, the very first thing that i do when i paint is make sure that my paint is warm ,and also if i can get what ever im going to paint warm also. if you go to paint and the can is cold are the project(body) is cold when you spray, you will get coverage at first than a little time later you will get a contraction, do to the catalyst having too cold of air to start the reaction(drying) wich in results in a ripple effect, sometime's a cracking effect, and yess even the bunched up in spot's effect, some of these are cool if you are going for that effect.but not good for the solid color look, kinda think of it as the oil and water theory, but with chem and paint,,there are alot of different things that could have gone wrong, you could have even gat a bad can,but as was said before try to stay with the same company of paint through out your whole process,MOST! paint is developed that way,the best paint that i have ever used for my body's is PACTRA comes in can's and also airbrush bottles, hope i was somewhat of a help if you have any questions that you would like in more detail i would be happy, also one more little helpfull hint is if you are unsure of the paint on the body do atest spot on the inside some where ,see how it come's out might save a little headache.
  15. well done here in the states clay is what you want ,not only does it provide the highest grip for dirt driving,if you make the track, groom it, and let it dry out, than sweep it, you get a very nice almost 99% dust free high traction blue grouve track wich in my opinion is one of the greatest surfaces to drive on .When you are done driving you just pretty much use a air hose and blow your car off, really clay is not something you want to get rid of it is a real good forming dirt good for making jumps burms, etc ,etc .Down here in the states there are some indoor track's that use slick tire's on there clay track due to there being so much traction,i would just water it a little ,just enough to give it a slight tack ,honestly clay is are friend it's the best r/c raceing dirt you can ask for, as for sand if its a oval nix the sand thought, but if its a offroad track ,than a small sand trap would be cool just to give a differnet element in your offroad track, but i would not do the whole track thx john
  16. my first tamiya was a grasshopper 20 some odd years ago,the first thing i remember learning from that car was when you go flying down the straight ,you have to slow down on that that turn ,because on street those soft rubber tire's really grip ,and make your car do about a dozen body role's,after about the 15th time someone told me the theory of whats in motion will stay in motion, (ie slow down for the turn) i belive i knew that but for a kid it was just awsome watching the flip's and twist's that lil car would do over and over ,also suicide chargers are truely what they are!
  17. please just a lil help
  18. i need a manual are a place were i can download a manual for the datsun stepside from kyosho ,please help my poor datsun it needs a special friend like you to bring it back to life with a donation of its life manual, its like a kid who need's glasses ,a dog at the pound,a car whith 3 wheel's ,it needs you and for just .49 cents a day the same price for 1 cup of coffie you can help out this poor little DATSUN STEPSIDE ,with the gift of a manual maybe?please! pretty please! pretty please with sugar on top! And is it me but in the pic's of the front does it have a sway bar , are is that bent tie rod part of the steering, also whats up with those flame's i keep on seeing a pic of daisy duke in the driver seat,i dont know why but i cant wait! and a little birdy told me the street price is going to be in the low $300.00's also you know what would be awsome if they were to number the kit by progressive number umm im rambling
  22. are you trying to fix a body? if so i belive they are polycarbanate(sp?) i belive that is what they are i mite be wrong ,i would use a a thick CA glue epoxy turn's yellow when it dries,,, it also is really really hard to sand a thick CA GLUE will give you time to work with your parts dries simi clear ,and if you want to speed up the dry time they sale a accelerator to dry it faster thx john
  23. just wondering why no one ever is in the chat room.Sometime's when i visit the site i see about 30 to 40 member's online. But no one is chating .I think this this would be awsome to be able to talk to some fellow TC member's in real time.Is there some specific time that the TC members chat? Are is this just a unused portion of this site? thx john
  24. i use to go to a hobby shop in glendale california named robbin's hobby's,It was a lil store that if more than 5 people were in it at a time you would be bumping elbow's.Though it was small i remember going in there to get my grasshopper parts,i remember looking up at all the tamiya kit's and remember seeing the hotshot, and wanting that car so bad!this store was small but out side on sunday afternoon's they had parking lot race's it was just a little track no more than 5 turns and a total running feet of about 4 feet wide by about 200 total feet ,but man that place was packed with people every sunday, racing what ever they had from frogs racing rc10's to radio shack car's racing grashoppers, we even had a guy that had a old kraft motorcycle that he tried to race ,man that was a site this was before gyro's,didnt turn that well but to a kid that was just a jawdropper,i remember sitting in the hot sun with my dad , are pit table was the back of his little pick-up truck ,i must have burned up a dozen batterys using the suicide charger off the car battery.i remember winning my first race there in my class, i beat this one kid who always had the new stuff, and always beat me bad ,but that one day my dad upgraded my hopper to the hornet motor and man it was the fastest car on earth and man it just ran i had the biggest smile on my face as the bell ended the race, and i was leading.I heard that the store burnt down a few years back .im 34 years old now ,but still when i think of that ol hobby store it put's a smile and a big lump in my throat at the same time those were good ol day's
