Hi raemin,
I have a mixture of Ni-Cad and NiMh. The way in which I use them is to use them until they are drained, (obviously) and then totally discharge them and then recharge them on a fast charger set to 1 hour. This I find works well but a couple of the Ni-Cad batts won't hold the charge very well so when I go to use them they're almost dead. I've tried disharging and charging again but still the same problem. Would this just mean that they're past their sell by date and should be thrown away?
Thanks for the reply mate.

After reading through this topic a question came to me as to how you can have so many people racing at once. I know that there are different crystals in the 27Mhz range adn there must be something along the same lines in the 40Mhz range. BUT, not everyone is going to go along to a race with both types of controller and receiver. How do they do it? Yet another black magic art for me to learn about!!

PS: What's a LHS by the way?

Hi Gozone,
It is the Spur Gear, you quite correct. As soon as I read your reply it 'spurred' my memory!!! You may be able to answer another question of mine. I bought what I think is a TA02 but from looking at pics of a TA01 it could be one of them. With it came three different pinion gears, one fitted and two in a bag, also there were three spur gears. Again, one fitted and the others in a bag. I understand that it's something to do with ratios but I'm not sure why you'd want to change the ratio to make the car go slower. Is it to do with endurance races so that you get longer from the battery? Help me out on this one as it seems like some kind of black magic to me!
Regards,
Karl.

Sorry Snake, that was supposed to read. "The only two models of the Blackfoot that I know of are, the one that came out in the 80's and now the Blackfoot Extreme.
I posted the reply and it sounded a bit snooty the way I had written it. It's not meant that way I can asure you!

Hmm, TA02 drive shafts. I have a TA02 fully working chassis and can tell you that they are far too short. But then again, I don't know what a 'super blackfoot' is!! The only two models of the Blackfoot is the one that came out in the 80's and now the Blackfoot Extreme. Do you know any of the part numbers for the 'super blackfoot' axcels Snake? Many thanks for the reply mate.
Kind regards,
Karl.

Hi folks,
Here's the questions! I read in a German RC Mag that you can buy battery chargers that 'recondition' batteries. I can speak German quite well but can't read it very well, (come on, I am Welsh)! Does anyone know of such chargers out there? I'd also like one that can charge more that one battery with a Tamiya connectors and that also has Peak Detection. This I'm led to believe is something that the charger does when the batt is full, it'll stop charging it. Anyone know the answers?!
Cheers,
Karl.

Hey DimmaDan,
I like you idea of the plaster of paris. To mould it into shapes that resemble course markers you could half fill a strip of rain guttering. When dried refill and make another one and another one and another one and another one and another one and another one...................you get the idea yeah?!! For corner pieces you could use shorter ones, it won't give you a round corner but I've seen courses made by using 2" x 4" legnths of wood. If you're rich you could just buy enough guttering and use that to mark the whole of the course.
Tins are a good idea, (when empty) not sure I'd use them full. Half cans wouldn't be so bad but I'm guessing that Mad Bull never asked the question in the first place! Hope this helps someone out.
All the best folks,
Karl.

Thanks for the reply.
I have replacement 'cups' that exit the gear box which would take the normal shafts of newer models. I'll have to have a look through the 'Manuals' section to see if anything resembles the ones I have. Thanks for the info, I'll start looking!
Kind regards,
Karl.

Hi folks,
I have an old, (but in excellent condition) Blackfoot. At the moment the only thing that's stopping it from working is that on to the drive shafts has worn out. The old type has a 'bolt head' kind of fitting unlike the ones we now know with a 'T' style end. I'm wondering if anyone know if the shafts from the newer Blackfoot Extreme would fit. I know that if they did fit I'd probably have to get some new rear wheels to tak the Hex hub.
If anyone has any ideas I'd be eternally grateful. Even if I could source a new pair of the old ones I'd be happy.
Hope to hear from some of you soon.
Kind regards,
Karl.

Hiya mate,
I only joined a couple of days ago and I'm of the same opinion, this site is a god send. I love it! I don't have many cars either, 5 at the last count. Waiting to subscibe so I can get me 'Showroom' up an running. There are some impressive collections on this site. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am. Take care,

Hi folks,
Does anyone know how I can fit a 540 motor onto a Grasshopper 1? I've tried all the pinion gears that I have but none will allow it to engage the gearbox cog, (don't know the proper name for it)! If anyone can shed any light onto this I'd be very grateful.
Kind regards,

Hi folks,
Thank you all for replying. DJtheo, I have sent you and some of your friends an email after seeing you on the map of members. Hope you can get in touch.
As for those of you wondering how to meet up at the fair, here's how. You could all wear a badge, (one of you could draw it easily on the pc and then email it, print it and then wear it). It doesn't have to be a big one but decide on a colour, all wear it at a certain time and stand in the cafe or near the entrance. Just don't stand by the toilets for too long!!! Once you're all there you can take you badges off so you don't feel stupid!! All wear hats and put the badge on it, just a coloured circle. The ideas are endless and it would be a shame for those of you who are traveling long distances not to meet each other. Hope this helps you a bit.
Kind regards,
Karl.

Hi folks, I'm new to the site but have already noticed some people in Germany making some noise! If there's anyone in the North of Germany, i.e. Luneburge Heide area, then please reply. I've seen some mentions of the Intermodelbau in Dortmund, would like to go if work/permitts the time.
Hope to hear from someone soon!

Blackfoot drive shafts.

Hi mate,
It is just the end of one of the drive shafts that are worn, the gearbox works a treat as the vehicle has hardly been used from new. Is it just a case of sourcing one or two of the end pieces, pulling the old ones out and slotting in the new one? What I'd ideally like to do is to transfer the whole drive shafts and axels over to the 'normal' type that we see nowadays. All in put is most welcome as I'm not very clued up and the old stuff. Pretty dumb on the new stuff come to think of it!!!
Thanks for the reply.
