  1. Nice topic going on here. I've build it myself (thx for the nice comment Clarkey) and I can assure you that it takes a very long time to do it correctly. The screws are M1,2 !! .. . so very, very small. But it all fits like a glove (like we are used from Tamiya) When finished there are dozens of parts where you put hours into detail that you can't see anymore. But a true modeler doesn't mind ... he knows it's perfect everywhere! Keep up the good work and when finished, enjoy it! greetings Koenc

  4. Hi Guys, I think I have solved a big (for me it was) problem. I managed to laserprint and lasercut thin black lines. these black lines have a width of 0,4 mm. The lasercut is 2 mm wide. These improve the looks on your car dramatically. Just look at these pics I took. If you are interested in some. Let me know greeetings Koen http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=19681&id=41

    FG Marder

Yep, same problem here. But I got all plastic parts in spares with me. My friend is bringing also his Leopard Race. So 3 off us allready. Perfect. I still haven't run in the 26 ccm³ engine completely. This will force me to drive a little slower the first 15 minutes. So with a little luck I can drive 20 minutes ! See you there Koen

  11. If there is going to be one. Count me in ! greetings Koen
  12. And it was a nightmare to paint it. Just alot of Tamiya masking tape and even more patient needed to paint it correctly. I did not use tamia's blue cause too dark. Red and white are from Tamiya. But do paint it . It looks stunning when finished. Oh yeah, usapirap, thx for the compliment ! Succes !
  13. I think I have the car (with Datsun body) you are talking about. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/trades_model.asp?cid=4146&id=41 greetings Koen

  17. Great ! It's back . Can't wait to see the new features. Made my payment also allready ! Let the show go on !
  18. Hi Jim, just have given her my vote. Did you knwo that you have Dutch blood running through your vaines ? Schoen is Dutch for shoe (in case you didn't know) greetings Koen
  19. Aiai, another Dutchman in Belgium . . . . HELP !! Just kiddin Sjoerd. The Ardennes are very nice. Lot's of space to run RC trucks. Have a blast! If you are in the neighboorhood of Antwerp, you are allways free to come over to check Racing Master and my collection. greetings Koen
  20. Hi Jim, Rothmans would be nice indeed but is allerady done. Besides, the black color of the chassis won't fit the white-red/blue/gold I think. Colors like yellow, white (silver) go very well with the black chassis. Woops, I' m thinking of the NewMan colors now. For inspiration I allways look at the NASCAR race cars (old and recent) or funny drag cars. These often have simple but very nice color schemes. Anyway. You've shown us allready many times that you know how to handle the spray can, so wathever you do, it'll look OK. greetings
  21. Luck mostly comes when you least expect it. This is to me one of the main reasons why I like collecting ! Oh yeah, please excuse Bibbo and Racing Master for their language. Their mind isn't working so perfect at the moment cause it's a little foggy inside there . . . . caused by [}][!]! Oh yeah, did I allready mentioned that I had to call him again cause he certainly still has more stuff for ME [:X][]!! greetings Koen
  22. I buy a lot of stuff in a local hobby shop who sells Tamiya allready for ages. I (and Bibbo and Racing Master, and, . . )asked him many times if he has still old stuff. Allways the same answer : NO ! But last monday (after buying again for a few 100 € option parts for the Marder) I asked him if he still has a TA01 chassis. I had to call him back on wednesday. So I did. And then he said the magic words. YES, I have a TA01 chassis and asked me b.t.w. if I was interested in a Schnitzer M3 bodyshell, complete ! He wanted me 52 € for it ! So, no fooling around I thought and after testing the top speed of my Vectra station car (198 kmph . . . . don't tell the misses) I was the proud owner off this wonderfull shell. I even postponed a kick-off meeting at work to go and get the shell ! What is my conclusuion from this all. Apperently certain shop owners still have stuff for sale but simply have no time (most shops are open 6/7) to search for it in the many boxes on the many shelves. The gain from these parts is so little for them that - if they should calculate their time - they almost loose money on it. greetings from a happy man , and keep on searching for the rare stuff ! Koen
  23. I store the built ones dust free in a self made display cabinet. This cabinet did cost me only +/- 120 € = +/- 140 us$ which is cheap compared to the "so claimed" dust free ones you can by in furniture stores. see the pics at : http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=5596&id=41 NIB's aren't soo lucky. They are stored on wooden shelves in my storage room. But they never stay there very long . . . greetings Koen
  24. Hi "carbon" friends, don't forget the 'Altezza' carbon body. But I've seen the German equivalent of Tamiya : Carson. They make fantastic bodies like the Audi Quattro S1 ( http://212.227.253.81/tamiya/include.php?path=start.php ),or a Jaguar V8. In fact, the choise is much to big ! (and my wallet much to small) greetings Koen
  25. Hi, nice discussion . First, I only wanted to collect the top 50 on-road cars new-built. But if several bodies were made on one type of chassis (metal F1 chassis, F2 chassis), then 1 model would do (to reduce the price). But all models have to be NEW BUILT, no used parts wanted here ! I'm almost there (missing the B2B) . Now i am still looking for a new direction to start. greetings Koen
