Yup, Panda made various offroad buggies in the late 80s. Later on they recycled the same and put sedan/Nascar-type shells on too.

quote:but don't they have very delayed steering though? id=quote>id=quote>Delayed? How...? Steering is via using 2 electromagnets (full left / full right) that work like a solenoid, with a centering spring. These work pretty quickly too... unlike mechanical servos which still need ~0.4-0.2secs to turn 60 degs. quote:I haven't ever tried one, is it something i should stay away from, sounds like your all addicted allready! Might redirect some of my funds away from tamiya id=quote>id=quote>Haha, suggest DON'T GO NEAR THEM unless you can risk addiction. But at least they're cheap (relatively).... and finding stock locally in Oz is currently half the challenge. I'm going around everywhere just searching for the little black boxes - why do toy stores all have SO MANY KIDDIES!!?

quote:...peole saying Easy off oven cleaner was easy to get and get it from your local store. After looking around for a while i was told it was an American product and i live in the UK! id=quote>id=quote>No, we can find it here quite easily in Oz... Think its a Selleys brand, so ask for it where you find Selleys stuff. Or just call up their national distributor and ask which retailer stocks it locally. Over here its available in red (caustic) and green (non-caustic) cans. Only the RED works for our purpose! Other countries have a yellow can too, dunno what this is.

Yup, same here too, no recurring pattern. Let's have some "SORT" functions, Chris. Especially in the 'Showroom' where a member may have listed 60-70 items, would be nice eg if one could select option to list by date posted. quote: Nobody hits the live chat, interesting... id=quote>id=quote> Good point... strange thing too, hadn't read this thread yet but just decided to give it a shot only today. Found Vaughn (aka 'cant get right') online earlier. But the chat server seems to be very flakey.

wheels !

Hey yeah! I remember the brand "Sees"... they used to advertise in RCCA back in the late '80s. They made some real great machined stuff too, but was always very expensive - far above "kiddy pocket money" levels. Had my kiddy eye on some Optima Mid wheels back then... for when I got a Mid. Still haven't got Mid nor wheels - hmmm... (yet). -
Its a 'what' rather than 'who'; appears to be a racing team & hopup parts manufacturer associated Toyota Japan, like TRD. http://www.tomsracing.co.jp/

Sorry, we don't get the Profis here. Don't really need a 3ch to run the 3spd, you can just use a 2ch system and put a long bolt on the gearbox (as shown in the manual). Or just leave a 3rd servo installed but unconnected in there. You can then change gears manually. Actually I was staring at it the other day... was dreaming perhaps it mightn't be too hard to make a springloaded remote cable control for the gearbox - like a car's choke cable. Mount the knob somewhere on the body... this might be cute. Imho running the truck with the gears incorrectly selected probably does more damage than anything else. To *not* have the change servo controlled by a floppy stick is a very good idea.

Can't outlaw various sexual preferences, even though I'm sure the Church would have loved to do so. Bit interesting hearing it coming from your side of the pond too, Sjoerd - thought the folks in Netherlands were a fairly liberal lot...? Ahh, for those good old times when being gay only meant you were happy. (Jeez I sound like an old fart.)

Nice site, Sjoerd. Bro did a nice job on the pix... like the Hotshot "basket case" too! Which reminds me... Ok now, we present: Willy pix tip #1207

Are those fluorecent shelf lighting, SHO? Be a bit careful with tubes, they can pump out a fair bit of UV which will fade paint & inks and deteriorate rubber. But can get 'designer' tube incandescent bulbs these days too which avoids the UV.

There were several Tamiya CPRs through the years, ranging from 100A to 160A. They all look pretty much the same. Unfortunately all that I've seen have their electronics 'potted' in epoxy. Makes them pretty waterproof and stronger against vibration/impact damage, but also makes them impossible to repair.
-
quote:P.S. Does Tamiya make the Monster Beetle bodyshell in Red and white plastic? id=quote>id=quote>No, just seen red & black plastics, and the chrome one. Think only the Scorcher came in white.

quote:...am waiting now for your Mounty wedding pics...id=quote>id=quote>Mountys were all part of a grand train... am still trying to wrestle the pix from the ENGAGEMENT from 2 yrs ago from my friendly photographer. (Tip being... the Pajero MTW starred in it. ) When I finally get it, no doubt it'll be shared.

No no NO!! Nah, can't reuse those, as obviously (1) I didn't take those and (2) you guys have seen it all before, right??

Am currently on project trying to figure out how the frequency is governed... then try to do something to change it. Research plan is:- 1) buy lots of BCGs 2) inspect them closely to find out PCB differences 3) run them back-to-back to test for interference 4) change and/or adjust PCB components to effect freq change. Progress Report:- *still* stuck at #1...

Wow, you left your bid up there for the whole 7 days??! Bad luck, keep watching for the next one. imho US$130 would just about buy you a whole 1983 Opel Ascona 1:1 these days. Something bigger than the Mini, maybe?? -
Roger:- When you visit your own Showroom (remember to login correctly), you should see: XXXX administration mode: - add new car to showroom Click on the 'add' link and it should be self-explanatory. Choose the picture files from your HDD and it should take care of itself.

Whilst you're down at the auto bodyshop, grab some 3M wet-n-dry sandpaper too!! Buying their large black sheets of 1200/2000/3000 grit is cheaper than Tamiya's little grey tissues.
-
Guys, if we're all still only talking about a stock-standard M03 (complete with its Mini wheels) running 20T pinion... you can further increase effective gearing by using sedan-size wheels. Just only need them on the fronts.

Spoken like a true vinyard owner, Chris!!
