Would customs & shipping folk fumigate all parcels? Some definitely xray them; after all you don't want to let alien bugs across the channel/Pacific/border.

There are several pistol radios out today which have extra TX channels, but (depending on the country/importer) usually the RX only has 2ch. Believe some of the current KO EX5(?) Master is 4ch. Or you could even get one of the Traxxas T-Max TXes, and modify the 3rd ch switch so that it sits "in the middle". 3spd gearbox only needs 1 extra servo for that 3rd channel, able to go full-throw both ways. Mid point is 2WD low.
