  1. What an interesting shock setup on the Boomerang (background). Found that on a vintage footage.
  2. Recently my daily driver was a Toyota Corolla 97 (no pictures right now) from my wife and a Jeep Cherokee 4,0. But due to no time for driving off the road and modifiying, I lost interest on the Jeep and I sold it. Sold the Corolla recently as my wife got an almost new Skoda Fabia I (2004 with only 10.000 km! on it) from my Father in law. Now im using the Skoda as my daily driver. My wife is using my Toyota Landcrusier J9 3,0 TD because she is taking care of our children. The LC is slightly modified. TJM aluminum T15 Bullbar, 265/75/16 AT's, a custom made intercooler and a modified motor management (powerbox). Power stock - 125 hp ---> now 180 hp, in Winter close to 190 hp and 400nm torque. All done from a professional workshop who is specialised on Toyota Landcruiser and building up Rally Raid Racing cars based on Toyota Landcruiser. http://www.hr-offroad.at/hr_offroad_competition.htm
  3. Be patient, they will come up on ebay some day. You just have to check back from time to time. Or you ask here in the sales and trade area.
  4. Well, the best suspension setup of all the three Shot's surely the Super Shot has. Hot Shot I setupt is horrible and simply does not work well. The Hot Shot II rear setup was a good improvement but the front setup did not really improve. I used to have them all. And I must say, the Super Shot felt to be the most complete car. It had all advantages combined. The Hot Shot II was always the stepchild as it was never significant in any way but is the best compromise I think. Also it scores lowest price of all the Shot series which makes the Hot Shot II a good alternative for a runner. Nevertheless, the Hot Shot I is most historical significant. The looks of the Hot Shot I ist just mean because it is sitting so plain on the ground while the Super Shot looks grown-up like a seriouse race machine. The Hot Shot II has something from both.
  5. I just got mine in the post. Yeah - what a feeling.....
  6. Congrats! I know that feeling...I love my wife too, she made me the greatest gift some years ago a Tamiya-nuts can get. I found a NIB Mountaineer Kit under the Christmas tree.
  7. Can anybody tell me the wheelbase and the width of the Lunchbox body (not the chassis!)? Thanks
  8. In general the Mountaineers score more than the Bruisers. I have seen very nice Bruiser going over for 400 or 500 euro, but never seen a nice Mounty sold under 600 euro. But this is just my experience.
  9. I had a case some years ago where I send a RC car from me (Austria) to Australia. The parcel left Austria (proven by the post) but it did not arrive... we were waiting 4 month until the parcel suddenly showed up at the distribuiton center of Australian post. They found it while an inventory.
  10. as far as I remember, these vintage v-shaped rally tires from the Escord, where used on some Quick Drive Rally cars too...correct me if I am wrong.
  11. Same is with me. First contact with Tamiya was at the age of 12 when a friend of mine hat a Grasshopper and I saw a catalogue...I found a Wild Willy and wanted this car, but at that time it was to expensive. So I had to wait anothter two years....I was 14 when the Boomerang came out. At that time this was the hottest affordable 4WD car Tamiya offered. It cost exatly 2500 ATS (I still remember very well) which is EUR 182,-!! That was a lot of money at that time. But I had the most advanced RC car among all my friends. Others had BlackFoot, Monster Beetle, Grasshopper and a Falcon. Man I was so proud to have a 4WD! It handled so much better on loose ground. And yes, alse we had a battle among us who has the best RC car *lol*. One thing I never forget is, one of my friends with his Falcon always beaten me with the top speed. And he also could make much more fun with his turnarounds, slides and circles even on pavement. I also remember that the HotShoI was unreachable for me. And my biggest dream was..... the Bruiser. I had never seen a real Bruiser, caus nobody aroung me could afford it, but I soaked up the catalogue with the Bruiser picture in it almost daily. I have ordered a Boomerang which will bring back old memories. I will build it up while listing music from that period. I still remember that the radio Word up - Cameo, Papa dont preach - Madonna, Burning Heart - Survivor, My Hometown - Bruce Springsteen, and so on... I often back out into my hobby room in the evening, take a 80's Tamiya Guidbook and listen to 80's musik. My feeling is, all these cars from the pre90' period have a unique character, Design an live in it. Also each single car from the 70's and 80's is an experiment on its own and has errors. But I think that is the reason why I love them so much.
  12. why not send him a message pointing to that... Thomas
