Hi there, I have a very original Falcon, complete with period Futaba Attak Radio Gear, original box and instructions. It has been run but is in very good condition, the bodyshell and wing has never been painted and it still has the original unused decals. Can't remember too much more about it or be too specific on exact condition as I got it a while ago and have put it away in a box as an investment. If you are still interested I can email you photos so you can see if it's what you are after and decide what it's worth to you. Redseven

King Cab diff slip that defies the very laws of nature...
Redseven replied to akemag's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Wicked, cheers for that. Unfortunately when removing th eglue one of the washers broke in half and there was only one of the thin washers plus the copper washers with the ballbearings in may not be totally free as can't get to all the glue. I'll have another look if I get chance but it may be easier to but a new diff for £10 from modelbuild? In the meantime I have advertised the car, if it doesn't sell I'll have a go at the diff when I have a bit more time as I would like to give it a run......difficult with an 18 month old son!! Cheers Redseven -
Need to generate some cash to buy a real car so sadly my RC cars have to go. I know you don't like the 'make me an offer' thing so I've added prices (and these include postage (within UK) and most also have full radio gear!!). The Kin Cab is work in progress so need some tinkering with. Please send me your email address if you want photos sending. NIB Midnight Pumpkin (Metallic Ltd Edition) includes TEU101 esc - £70 posted (SOLD) Dark Impact new built mint used for less than 10 mins includes radio gear 17t schumacher motor and new futaba MC330cr esc - real quick & fully ballraced!! This is awesome - £110 posted Nissan King Cab - just got this, includes radio gear and two shells (though neither are KC). very good condition though had diff problem so I stripped it and found that it had been glued. I freed it up and rebuilt but it now slips too much so wont drive when on the ground. I think a new diff will solve the problem, these are available for £10 from modelbuild. £54 posted (or £42 without radio gear) Honda S2000 M-04L - another I have just received, very good condition. Shell is S2000 but is a runner so no shelf queen though it is tidy enough. This look like a very good car and it runs really well.....not had much use, again it includes radio gear. - £49 posted (or £34 without radio gear) Ripmax Pro peak Charger - Excellent condition, like new and includes box! £25 posted Will accept £200 for the lot (MP has already sold) - photos emailed upon request! King Cab diff slip that defies the very laws of nature...
Redseven replied to akemag's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Well I've stripped the diff and found it to be glued up so I've managed to get it apart clean it up, regrease it all and reassemble. Problem now is it won't drive!! If you hold it in the air the wheels turn ok but I guess the diff must be slipping too much so when on the ground the motor is turning but no drive!! Akemag - is this the problem you originally had with yours or was it not to this extent? If anyone has any ideas how to fix this I'd appreciate knowing! Alternatively I think I can get a new diff assembly from modelbuild.co.uk for about £10. Another alternative is to sell it cos I haven't got much time at the moment to spend sorting it. If anyone wants to make an offer please do!! Redseven -
When I went to Uni I needed more beer money so sold all my cars to a kid down the road for about £50. Still kicking myself 13 or so years on as it included a Kyosho Tomahawk (I built it from nib), Lancia Rally and Monster beetle!! Probably why I've started to get back into it but cannot find a Tomahawk that I can afford!! Actually considering selling all my cars again but won't be letting them all go for £50 this time!!! King Cab diff slip that defies the very laws of nature...

Well, I've managed to strip the diff and sure enough someone has glued it up arghhhh!! Anyone know how to strip glue from a diff or is that it knackered? Any idea what new diff parts would cost if it can't be cleaned up? Redseven -

Good point, I'll definitely strip it and see what's going on in there. Had a look at ozrc, very cheap shell, think it's about £10 but then it's about £20 postage plus I'd have to find some decals so all getting a bit too expensive. Should really be selling a couple of cars, not spending money but just can't help myself when I see a bargain!! :-) Will just tidy up the hideous jeep type shells that came with it, one is unpainted so should look ok with a splash of paint and some decals. Cheers Redseven -
No not yet, haven't had time. Used it twice for about 5 minutes each time and all seems ok. I'll let you know how I get on when it's given a longer run.

Excellent, didn't realise that the Alfa shell would fit....always wanted one of these, that will probably be my next purchase :-) Is this likley to be a straight fit or will I need to buy anything else?

Cheers for that guys. My diff is non existant, just checked again and wheels turn in same direction, I applied some pressure in trying to turn them different ways but didn't want to force it! Thing is it seems to run in the garden ok. I'll only use it for garden bashing so doesn't need to be perfect but sounds like i'll probably need to strip it and have a look at it. Fortunately it came with the manual. Don't know what they are worth but I paid £48, that included postage, 2 x body shells (not KC though), 2 x nicads, ripmax pro peak charger and 2 sets of radio gear, I think I've done ok but will need to spend a bit of time sorting diff. Hopefully parts are readily available, I'll keep an eye out on ebay if I need anything. Cheers Redseven -
Great, glad to hear it's a good chassis. I have a sport tuned motor in my Mad Fighter with TEU101 ESC, it sounds like that will be sufficient then. M-04L cahssis doesn't have oil shocks as standard then, does that mean it's a fairly cheap kit to buy?
-
Anyone know much about these? I've just got myself a Honda S2000 on this chassis from ebay (well still waiting for it at the moment), my previous cars have all been off road buggies so fancied a change but know absolutely nothing about it! Are these capable of running 18t motor without being hopped up or does it need usual hop ups, bearings etc? I presume it comes with oil filled dampers? Don't even know if it's 2wd or 4wd!! Oh, and do they still make them.....are parts readily available? Cheers in advance.

Hope you don't mind me chipping in on this thread? Just that I have received (yesterday) a used King Cab and know nothing about it but you guys obviously know your stuff on them. I've had it running and it goes ok but when I turn the rear wheel, the other wheel turns the same way? All my previous cars have been off road buggy types and have differentials that mean the other wheel turns the opposite way......is the King Cab designed like this or is mine just knackered?? Also, are shells still available for these (can't find them anywhere), mine has 2 weird holiday /jeep buggy type shells!! Apologies again for hijacking thread,!! -
Just got a Falcon which is in superb original condition. It is complete with box, instructions and Futaba Attack R Radio Gear. The body shell has never been painted and it still has the original decals untouched and ready to apply....even has never used rear wing!! This is a very original car. The box contains some left over damper oil and there are some original unused parts, instruction manual, unused decals and Futaba radio gear instructions! The only negatives I can see are the car has been used so rear tyres are a bit worn and there are some minor scratches under the chassis - other than that I'd say this is near perfect and would easily be a shelf queen!! If anyone is interested in buying it drop me your email address and I'll send you some photos. I know that a new bosyshell would cost £40 alone and the radio gear must be worth £20 so you could get a real bargain here. I'm looking for best offer over £75 for this by the end of June; otherwise it will go on eBay. I've edited this post as I have now tested the car and radio gear to ensure that it all works and have found the rear wing (didn't know it was included originally), I also now have some photos so please send me your email address if you want to see the photos. Cheers Redseven

Well, just completed the DI and gave it a quick run around the garden. Seemed darn quick with my Schumacher 17t motor....eveything else is standard on it (except the Futaba MC330 esc and I opted for soft damper oil instead of the hard stuff supplied). Didn't seem to overheat at all but would need to give it a longer run to make sure. I'll let you know if I experience any overheating like you....or have you got it sorted now? My kit is the fully ballraced version; however, on completing the build I have a small plastic tube with 4 small bearings left over in it...........Doh!!! I have looked long and hard but cannot suss out where these should go......can someone please let me know!!! Cheers in advance. Redseven

Motors - skimming and replacement brushes
Redseven replied to Redseven's topic in General discussions
Cheers for shedding some light on that for me. Since they are only 27t stock, I'll probably just clean them both up, get some wires for them and make sure they are working ok before selling on. Thought they may have been some super speedy motors but as I already have a 17t Schumacher and 18t Kyosho there's not much point in me keeping them. Cheers for the info and I'll bear you in mind if I need any motors rebuilding!! Redseven -
Ok, I've just got two new (well, second hand) motors. A Reedy Associated motor and a Team Losi Revolution. I know absolutely nothing about these motors, not even how many turns they are!!! My questions are as follow: How do I know whether the motors need skimming.....how do I get this done and what sort of cost does it involve? The Revolution has L shaped brushes...not seen this before, should they be like this or do they need replacing? Where can I get appropriate brushes from, are they standard, i.e. will any fit? And finally, most motors I've seen recently have no wires/bullet connectors fitted, including mine. I have hunted high and low for these but cannot find any. Even TimeTunnel say they can't get them! Where do you all get them from?? Cheers in advance Redseven

I would like to run my Schumacher 17T in my Dark Impact with Mc 330 cr Futaba ESC (handles down to 13t motor), don't have any hop up gears etc so hoping it will all be ok, I'll let you know how I go! That said, anyone noticed on first page of build instructions that you need 3 x MK10 (the foam cylindrical pieces), I can only see 2 and a half being used!! Are there supposed to be 1 and a half in each side of the ball diff? From the diag it looks like one in the top and 1 and a half in the bottom.....would someone please let me know what you have done? Cheers Redseven

Just tried to use this receiver (Acoms AR-227FE) and it doesn't seem to work though I'm sure when last used it worked. Could this be because the servo's AS12's are not compatible? The plugs on my other receivers appear to be exact size for the servo plugs/connectors; however, the AR-227FE receiver seems to have connection/fittings that are physically larger than the servo fittings, that said the servos still appear to fit it's just that there is a gap around them. I'm guessing that the AR-227FE maybe an older (vintage) receiver for older servos with larger connectors? Anyone have any ideas? Redseven

Gravel Hound 15t motor set up and noise?
Redseven replied to Redseven's topic in General discussions
I kind of got used to the noise on the GH which improved after changing the motor and cleaning out the gearboxes, that said I have sold it and got a far better one now that is as quiet as a mouse....well, you get my drift!!! Redseven -
Just got a Schumacher Club 10 for bashing around the garden (until I get bored and sell/swap it!!) Shell is ok but wanted to put some decals on it, I 'm not bothered particularly about schumacher decals but if anyone has any cheap decals that would suit a 1/10 off road buggy (must be cheap) then please let me know. Thanks Redseven
