Cheers for that. Will try removing propshaft this evening, think I should be able to get ballraces for about £7 so will make that my next purchase!! Don't really want to strip gear box if I can help it....at least not until I can find some instructions on how to put it all back together!!! Redseven

Two cars going on Ebay (10 day auction) this evening: Vintage Thunder Dragon - Super condition for age, especially as it is a runner (no shelf queen though), goes really well. Shell and decals are very good, no cracks but it was brush painted on inside...as per box art. Comes with msc, 2 x servos and receiver. Just noticed that tyres are starting to crack on the walls, easy restoration to Shelf Queen for someone......don't think there are too many of these around, probably because of the typically 80's angular body styling, not to everyones taste!! Volkswagen Beetle New Shape - Not Tamiya but loads of detail including engine bay, dashboard, gear lever, handbrake, working door handles, opening doors/boot/bonnet, working lights etc. This includes msc, 2 x acoms servos and receiver. This car is huge - ebay pics show it next to Monster Beetle for scale purposes. Have had steering turning and motor turning so all radio gear works; however, have not yet driven it because it is missing the pinion gear and I don't have one that will fit!! Monster Beetle Project - Hoping to tidy this one up and keep for back yard bashing but depending on finances it may well end up on the Bay before finished!! If any offers for £60 or more come in plus £10 p&p) I'd let it go now. This this includes msc, 2 x servos and receiver so you'd just need transmitter, xtals and nicad to drive it! Have just bought 2nd hand Gravel Hound which is very noisy (a kind of grating noise), anyone know if this the norm or should I re-grease both gearboxes? Also, it currently has an Mtroniks RV sport ESC which I believe is capable of handling a 15t motor, can I just add the15t motor or does it need any upgrades, apparently it may need alloy prop shaft and full ballracing? Don't really want to spend loads of cash on this one, just trying to see if I can get in going faster than my Mad Fighter for back garden driving at the moment it is significantly slower which surprised me!! Was looking at the fireball 15t motors on ebay as these are cheap but are they cheerfull, anyone had experiences of them?? Redseven

Try www.modelbuild.co.uk they do the body for £10.50, don't think this is the set so you would have to buy decals separately but these should be readily available.

Thanks for clarifying, the ones I received were silver adn 5mm shorter but the seller says they have been dealing in the part for over 4 years and they are definitely Thundershot driveshafts. How much can are they from you, I only need one but I'm guessing they only come in two's? Mike

Cheers Andy, Received it this morning and it is exactly the right part!! Unfortunately, the Thundershot driveshafts I bought are no good, ones I need are 75mm dogbones, ones I received are 70mm dogbones....absolutely gutted, was looking forward to giving it a run in 4wd!! Do you think the seller on ebay got it wrong and they aren't Thundershot driveshafts or are they different to Thunder Dragon driveshafts? According to Modelmania and Tometunnel they should be the same? Mike

Hi Andy, Have managed to source a driveshaft from elsewhere but what I am still desparate for is the cup (gearbox end) that the driveshaft fits into. Much appreciate one of these if you have one? Cheers Mike

It was the short inner cup (one that goes into gearbox as opposed to the front wheel, I think the code is SA6 Gear box joint (short)? Managed to source the dogbone driveshaft now.....it's taken all day but I will have a couple of spares if anyone needs them!!. Thanks for the help. Mike

Car is in good condition but just needs one driveshaft and cup to get it running, I'll be selling it on as soon once running again so need parts as cheaply as possible, presumably timetunnel or modelbuild are the best options?

I bought a sporttuned motor online from some American Hobby Shop to put in my ballraced Madfighter. When comparing it to my mates Madfighter (standard motor and not ballraced) there was no noticeable difference in speed. I'm now thinking it may only be 27t which I'm quite annoyed about. I'll check the box if I can find it a and see what it says.

Anyone have a spare front drive shaft (and drive shaft cup that slots into the front gearbox) for a Thunder Dragon for sale? If not does anyone know if Thundershot/FireDragon/Supersabre parts are the same?

I have a Hotshot 1 and a Boomerang that I'm considering selling. Both are in original used condition, in fact they seem to be very good condition for age though the Boomerang has no decals on the shell. Both would benefit from being stripped and cleaned. Both cars come with radio gear (though no tx xtals), acoms slow charger, nicad (unsure whether these work) and Beatties bag. Hot shot also has loads of spares and Instructon book. Sorry, should have clarified, the shell comes in a yellowy/orange plastic, similar to the box art - just wanted to know whether to put the decals straight onto this or whether it would look better with a coat of yellow/orange paint first?

This is probably a stupid question but I have just bought a new Mad Fighter Buggy and wasn't sure whether to paint the shell or whether to leave it as it already appears to be the colour of the box art? Last car I painted was in the late eighties with a lexan shell that obviously needed painting! Is the idea with new cars to paint them or are they the right colour and just need decals adding?? [?]
