As the weather has been so good of late, I figured now was as good a time as any to organise a bash. Stanmer Park (just off Lewes Road) seems like the ideal destination to me with loads of room and parking where we'll be running. The terrain is mostly short grass but there is some large mounds of dirt and forest to explore. I'm definately on for Sunday 25th of May (bank holiday weekend) which should give you all plenty of time to get ready although I am wondering if anyone fancies a bash next weekend as a warm up and recce? Don't think I found that, so far I've only been on the main fields. Stanmer seemed fairly quiet last bank holiday so I should hope they'll be plenty of room for us on the 25th. For those that want to go either on the 25th or in the next couple of weeks as a warm up, here's some additional details; Map for Stanmer Park; http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?ie=UTF-8&...iwloc=A&f=d Postcode for sat nav; BN1 PPZ

Now that looks like my kind of toy! Any idea of price? -
The tracks idea was good although I'm not sure about the claim it would do 35mph! I thought there was a QD Beetle in the background too, someone must like Tamiya there
-
Great shots!

On last week's Balls of Steel, the Pain Men (half of Dirty Sanchez) were using a Tamiya Hornet to inflict injury. The video can be found on youtube although it does contain plenty of swearing and some testicles.

Welcome back Alex! As Terry said, I'm a bit more south these days although must come to another NWN meet at some point!

Calsonic Primera 58151 - What Paint?
mr_pushrod replied to Mad Ax's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
I would go with PS-30, it's what Tamiya suggest for the Calsonic JGTC R34 GTR shells. On the Calsonic R32 GTR they suggest PS-4 but it's far too dark, this is my R32 in PS-30; More pics; http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...8966&sid=79 -
With such a large area to paint on the side, the Lunchbox is just crying out for something other than boxart. Biggus Ditchus has a rather nice Red Bull VLB while Brat Attacks has done a fantastic version painted like the Ambulance in Cannonball Run. As for mine, I decided on a delivery van I always look forward to seeing...... Oh, and I recommend getting the VLB over both the Hilux and Wild Willy. The WW is just too unruly to drive while it's unlikely you'll have as much fun with the Toyota.
-
Good to hear that there are plans for another drive. They're always such massive fun, let's hope there's at least one this year
-
I can well recommend either a VLB or Pumpkin (I have one of each). They are cheap to buy, easy to upgrade and massive fun. Try one with bearings and a hot motor (19 turns works for me) and you won't be disappointed!

Looking good! Where did you get those CVDs? I've been looking for some for mine and can't find them anywhere. -
Could be a plan
-
My Minizilla has eaten its front driveshafts and I'd like to replace them with CVDs. I notice that HB do some themselves as do 3racing, can you get any of them and how much are they posted to the UK. Cheers!

Although oil shocks do improve the handling, there's something appealing about the way it drives on friction shocks. I have a Lunchbox and a Pumpkin both with 19 turn motors, electronic speed controls and bearings. They both bounce all over the place and spend a fair amount of time shiney side down but it makes them all the more fun. Have a look at these videos of my Pumpkin to see what I mean..... http://www.tamiyaclub.com/moviecomment.asp...1677&uid=79 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/moviecomment.asp...1741&uid=79 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/moviecomment.asp...1746&uid=79
