  1. That's an interesting idea....I have a few of those pink motors and was wondering what ESC to try and run them with. Any other ideas for those pink 14 turn motors?
  2. $46 USD at JR-RC right now. He only has a couple left so be quick.
  3. what is the shaft diameter for the Traxxas TMaxx for the oneway bearing. Is it 6mm or 8mm? I am thinking about trying to convert an EZ Start to a Tamiya truck but need to know what the TMaxx shaft size is first before I invest in the parts. Thanks.
  4. They do. I have one on mine.
  5. thanks for that - greatly appreciated.
  6. Can anyone shed any light on this model - french I believe. It is a monster truck with 2 speed forward and reverse. Does anyone have a manual for one or point me to some good information. I have googled it with limited success. thanks in advance.
  7. I have an original sand scorcher but no door handles - can anyone suggest anything else to use?
  8. I have seen a few posts on the Maisto 1/12 combi and thought I would share with you that these are very cheap in the USA at present. Just search Ebay one of the following como's VOLKSWAGEN VAN SAMBA MAISTO TECH 1/12 R/C RED/WHITE 81044 VOLKSWAGEN VAN SAMBA MAISTO TECH 1/12 R/C YELLOW/WHITE 81044 I would love one but the postage to NZ simply makes them not worth it unfortunately as the postage is more than the van. I did manage to pick up a second hand Maisto beetle rcently so that will keep me thinking for a while.
  9. thanks - but no good as I had already looked there. cheers
  10. I recently picked this up and would love a manual. It is missing a few parts which I would like to identify the part numbers to commence a search and get her rolling again. I believe it is a early pure ten chassis with 2 speed. All help will be appreciated. Plenty more picks in my showroom with Nostalgic body waiting http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...283&id=9441
  11. Thanks guys for all the feedback and the offer Neil of the adapter for the charger. I might just take you up on that. As I said I plan to persevere with the batteries I have for now but I do get a year older at the end of the month so maybe I hit her indoors up for some lipos. I need small ones or stick packs as a lot of the cars I run only accept the stick packs because of the battery compartments i.e. Ta02, lunchbox, mad Bull/fighter buggies etc. I need to measure up the Monster beetle and Blackfoot. The only one I will get away with at present is the stadium thunder.
  12. Ok I have finally upgraded my Nimh charger from a Ansmann ACS 67P+ (it died but I had a couple) to an Hyperion EOS0606i AC/DC charger so please be patient with me. My understanding is that the Ansmann charges at 3.0 amps and automatically cuts off when the battery peaked or at 90mins what ever came first. I have a range of GP Batteries being 3300, 3700 and 4300 - I do plan to goto Lipo at some stage but not yet as I want to use the batteries I have but the new charger is good for Lipo's. I believe you can safely charge a Nimh at the rate of the battery i.e. 3.3amps for a 3300 , 4.3amps for a 4300. Some even say you could charge any Nimh at 4 amps. What is the max I can safely charge at? Discharing/cycling is the question I have - I can set the charger to discharge at a max of 1 amp which I realise is not high and set the voltage at minimum level - I have read 0.9v per cell so 5.4v for a 6 cell battery pack. I used to simply discharge them with a couple of 12v lights but guess this is not the thing to do to a Nimh and then just charge them a little before storing. The 3300 pack I has the following details on each cell 0413Sec 1.172Vts (I assume this is the max volts of the cell) 1.495PV 2.6I-Res 0.9CutOff (I assume this is the minimum voltage of the cell) 5000VCo 6.0Chg (I assume this means I can charge at 6.0 amps) 30Dis (I assume this means the battery is good for discharging at 30 amps whilst in the car) TM-5 can someone tell me what all of this means please ( and give me advice on charging and discharging/cycling in plain english. Thanks in advance to your feedback and help. Also does anyone know if you plug your battery into the Hyperion will it tell you what charge it is currently sitting at?
  13. Ok I have spent the better part of two half days trying to get my sons wild Commando to go. Initially we have reverse but major slipping in forward. I managed to strip the spur gear but a TNX one fits nicely. I have upgarded to a stell pinion also. I read an article where it said to place a couple of small pieces of aluminium (1mm thick) under the forward clutch shoes in the gearbox which I did and low and behold we now have forward (whohoo!!) but it doesn't change gear. I have adjusted the second speed clutch and it did change gears a a couple of times so will tinker with that some more as after I did some adjustments it stop changing gears again (grrrr) . We however have no reverse at all and I do wonder if by shimming the forward gear it is engaging too much which is stopping it from going in reverse. I have search the internet high and low for help and found some stuff which references to sites which are no longer in existance. I would be most grateful for any advice people have. I am tempted to do away with reverse if someone could show me the instructions for an old converion kit that existed to do this. I think I could work it out with some time but my boy is pretty keen to have reverse. I dont want to have to dismantle the gearbox again but will do if I need to to get it to work properly. I know these old girls are old but hey you have to work with what you have and I am sure many of you have tackled these in days gone by. Please help me!!!!
  14. I have missed purchasing one of these a couple of times locally and it is at the top of my list to purchase if one ever comes up again. I have the chassis and wheels but just need the body. Yes it is different but definately not ugly. This has the cool factor. I wish Parma would rerelease the body. I think the latest version of the hornet with pink wheels is fugly. We all are different which is what makes the world tick.
  15. Thanks guys. I think I have a Tg10 lying around somewhere so will check the clutch out on that. I have spent a lot of time on it today and it is not the engine clutch. I managed to get the motor tuned reasonably well (after I relaised the motor is a fs-18s as it is a Wild Commando I am tackling which has a low speed needle also) and also removed the plunger from the tank which was broken - fuel wasn't flowing at all but is now. I got it to run forward with significant slippage but it ran great in reverse until I completely stripped the spur gear. Steel cluth bell on the way and will use a TNX spur gear (that is what someone had put on it already). I have also just spent many hours trolling through the net to see what the problem is and it appears it is the forward gear clutch. Gearbox has been apart and everything looks in very good condition. I will give it a good clean and make some shims up for the forward clutch to see if it can work better. I am looking forward to getting this beast to run, as is my son who actually purchased it.
  16. I picked a couple of these up second hand and they both go - one better that the other because one appears to have a different carb on it - looks like a tamiya carb of a .12 motor. They however came with no bodies. Can anyone suggest a body that would fit with a little bit of alteration in need. thanks in advance
  17. I dont see Tamiya anywhere on them - would this possibly indicate they aren't Tamiya?
  18. Can anyone help??????
  19. P;ease please can anyone suggest a alternative clutch shoe and clutch spring for the Teraa Crusher. I cant find one and need one for my Boys Wild Commando
  20. let alone a body for one!
  21. http://www.ebay.com/itm/58527-Tamiya-1-10-...=item519eb8aca6 She would love one of these

  23. Stella has these back in stock. Tthe tires have gone up $2.50 already but still a great price at $13us. Wheels are super cheap at $7us. I got some to go on the Avante Black Special wheels I hope arrive soon from JR. I just need to work out what to put them on noew - think a dirt thrasher might look cool with them.
  24. I am with TA-Mark - there shouldn't be any bump steer in a TA01 or TA02 - none of mine have any. Nice work you have done on this.
  25. From the topic; In other news, All 288 manuals are now back online have I been asleep - when did this happen? Are we going to see decals allowed soon also?
