kalsh replied to SuperHornet's topic in General discussions
Just watched a couple of videos at the bottom of the page - This is simply amazing....off to read the full article now. certainly has the wow factor his set up. -
Stella has them in stock for $30US a piece for those who dont want to pay $150US for the complete kit. I have just ordeed mine.
-
Does anyone know what this is and what model it is off?

I was watching a local auction site and someone put up a couple of Traxxas Nitro sports with no bodies and a box of parts up for a grand total of $60NZ. One was said to be in going order and the other needed some work. I hit buy now straight away as I thought I could probably get both to go and would fit a body on them and try and make a couple of bucks to cover other things purchased recently. When I contacted the seller he said he had an electric chassis he wanted to let go as well for the same price which I said I would consider upon pickup. When I picked them up I ended up giving him an extra $40 NZ and got a single speed 1/8th Kyosho chassis with no motor, a 1/10th Kyosho buggy with I think a GX15 in it complete, and a a cheap HSP on road chassis complete with a brushless ESC and motor which he said still goes well. There were two complete transmitters with these 3 chassis's. I have worked out what the HSP is as a 94103PRO but would like some pointers on the otherr 2 Kyosho chassis's. I think the 1/8th is an Inferno but not sure and might rob it of parts for my Mad Force as some parts are interchangeable. A pointer to a manual would also be helpful. Thanks I will post the Traxxas stuff up also in my showroom at some stage.
-
Thanks guys. Can anyone point me to a manual? Does it look like parts of the bottom of the chassis are missing bits?
-
Picked this up locaaly with a beetle body. I think part of the chassis might be missing however given I know very little about Kyosho could someone please tell me what chassis this is.

Bruiser 2012 (spy photo from Nuremberg Toy Fair 2012

tamita US has this also http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=58519 -
Very interesting that list - naturally some will be happy and some wont be but I think that Tamiya must really be struggling at the moment if they have to rerelease so many old cars. I see the Bush devil 2 on the list which no doubt will be on the same chassis as the Blackfoot III. I picked up some parts late last yar from the local Tamiya importer in NZ and we discussed the rereleases and he was surprised how many there were also. If the bruiser is similar to the original it will be nice to see but I think the price will be way up there but at least there will be parts to keep the originals going. Personally I cant wait for the 956 Porsche given I haven't purchased the type Kombi as personally it just isn't worth the US $150 on that chassis so a 956 will be a nice add to the collection - my original one is pretty rough. Like many others I would like to see Tamiya release all body sets separately so we can keep our rides looking great which is alwasy a good advertisment for Tamiya.

Thanks guys, I will give the F103 battery holder a go. Just out of interest is the J7 part from the TA03 pro chassis?
-
Does anyone know if TA03 pro battery holders will work on the TA02 FRP chassis?
-
Finally a Type 2 Kombi body from Tamiya........I dont care what chassis it is on as I am sure a M chassis can be adapted to fit it.....I am sure all VW lovers out there will be very happy.

Oh dear what a disappointment the MudBlaster is- I thought they might have used the Brat chassis and come out with the additional parts required for the Mudblaster which the original Blackfoot and Monster Beetle used also - I guess when they re release the Monster Beetle it will be on the same chasssis as The Blackfoot III and the Mudblaster which I dont really like (yes I can hear lots of people say it is a much better chassis) because I like the original chassis.

Does anyone know if Tamiya are going to release decals for this body set?

I have a FS-15LT motor which state to unwind 3 complete turns and adjust from there - anti clock to richen and clockwise to lean. Good luck!

My recently acquired terra crusher dies when I gun it. I think the problem might be the Kyoho exhaust that someone added to it. It has a Kyosho FEMCA 512 pipe which I believe is quite a good pipe but is for a .21. I am thinking that the problem is that there is not enough pressure to feed the fuel tank and keep the fuel supply up to the standard FS-18. It potters around in forward and reverse at about 1/4 throttle but any further it bogs down and dies and then is difficult to start again- I am using a pull start. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...47&sid=9441 I am thinking of trying one of my TGX mufflers on it if it will fit to see if I can get it to run any better. The engine of course might just be knacked and be low on compression as it runs OK when held off the ground. Has anyone else had any success running a .21 muffler on a .18 motor?
-
I have just picked up a Terra Crusher but it doesn't have a rollbar which as you all know is very handy for picking these up when you start them etc. Any suggested alternatives would be welcomed.

NIB Tamiya Falcon Body Parts Sets with Decals
kalsh replied to TamiyaVancouver's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
I think he is talking Neo Falcon as opposed to the original falcon - a subtle difference...lol -
What is the best Tamiya for little kids and why?
kalsh replied to Thommo's topic in General discussions
The rere Mad fighter at about $92 US would be ideal. They are a great simple chassis's that just keep going. -
Any 27mhz should work with matching crystals of course. The only thing you might have to do is change the forward and reverse controller over to where the turning controller is. I did that with an old Nikko transmitter for a QD I have and it works fine. I like stick controllers over the wheel ones anyway. Good luck getting it going - they are slow however.

wow......scary stories. Insurance has finally been agreed. I will definately follow up in a few months with the recipient. Very annoying as Hot Trick stuff is reasonably rare.
-
My first deal to go bad - Sent this via standard airmail to France (fortunately insured - but still waiting for a payout). If anyone comes across this one please let me know. thanks http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...=19072011100121

notice the mad bull has the black gerabox and the Mad Fighter has the transparent gearbox. I look forward to getting some bodies, wheels and tires to tidy up a few tired fighter buggies.

Kit number 58500 will be a huge Re-Release!
kalsh replied to europro975's topic in Re-Release Discussions
Tamiya runs the risk if they rerelease the Bruiser that it will imply cost a fortune and only a limited number of people would buy it. It would be interesting to know how many Avante's they sold as that was one of their more expensive re releases lately. I just hope it is something that a lot of people like and it is at a reasonable price. It could be the 935 Porsche in keeping with the 30th year Porsche release and the black porsche release to stick with the Porsche theme they have followed. A hopped up TA02 truck with wide suspension would be great as would a Monster Beetle but with a better gear box of course or perhaps it will be a real surprise and something completely new......if they actually have any new ideas that is? which one does wonder about given the number of re releases and their action in respect to repro stuff lately. -
Twinset - My memory is just fine thanks (even though my wife doesn't also think so) thanks for asking....lol. Chris has explained the lie of the land which has clarified the situation in respect to his stance/agreement with Tamiya.

The second forum shut down in as many days because we aren't allowed to make comment against Tamiya by the looks of things!! http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?...0&start=150 ""I think we'll call it a day on this one too - anything that even smells of a repro/replica/tribute/copy decal sheet/bodyshell etc. will no longer be permitted on TamiyaClub either as a trade or a showroom entry. Whether it's a repro/replica/tribute/copy in a legal sense or not, if it looks enough like them it could cause serious problems for TamiyaClub. Any objections, please take them up with Netsmith""" Twinset and Netsmith - Are you really going to trawl through all the showroom entries with repro bodies or decals on them? I fail to see how members having these items puts TC at risk - this is a club for goodness sake. I am starting to wonder if the continued negative reaction will have a terminal effect on this club? I for one certainly hope not. It shouldn't be Tamiya that tells us what we can and cant say on this site -I didn't think it was a crime to talk about repro stuff. I understand the trades piece despite not agreeing with it but that is your call as the owner/moderators of this site - remember the members fund this site.
