  1. Never had a problem with breakage... check vids on tamiya101 and you'll see the abuse they get! Won't harm anything to bond a rollcage inside and will look pretty trick too, especially if you add a few little details like a fire extinguisher etc.
  2. I doubt the Hilux rollbar would suit the buggy...how about painting the standard rollbars in silver and putting a working spotlight bar on? Ebay sells them for a few pounds from HK, and they usually arrive before stuff purchased in your own country :-) Wild Willy driving figure can be worked into the drivers seat with some effort, i think that would give it a unique touch. Is this the normal Sand Rover re-re or the Street Rover with big wheels/tires?
  3. I have a hairdrier next to me ready to go... I warm the spray cans on the radiator in the house for a while before (actually keep the paint in the house anyway if i know i'm going to need it in a day or so..) and use the hairdrier to warm the body just before painting. Then spray coats on and use the drier to create some more warmth round the body. I have only been painting primer and satin black really so far, but had zero problems with finish. Tried some red just as an experiment on the body and actually got a decent finish.
  4. The Terrahawks vehicle looks to be using Blazer/Wild Willy tires. Taller than Grasshopper rear tires. Some money there if they want to restore it ;-)
  5. Hi mate, i haven't got a complete car, but a bag full of 'left overs' including a chassis tub, gearbox, wheels etc. If you PM me with your email address i'll send a couple of pics over to you. I'm only near Penistone so not far from Sheffield :-) Thanks, Joe
  6. That's fine matey, as i normally remove those mounts anyway! Well cheap as possible! I'll PM you.. Thanks.
  7. Could do with a few of these really...used and cheap preferably. Don't mind some damage as they will be getting modded anyway :-) UK only please to keep postage costs down. Thanks.
  8. I'm in the process of building a Hilift Hilux to how i want it. I am running the standard axle and tires, but have sold the 3-speed gearbox on as i'm not interested in gear changes and it's way too bulky. I have my eye on a gearbox with a ratio of 1:5, and then mating that to a transfer case with a ratio of 1.8 : 1. Will that suffice or do i need to look at something else? Will a 540 motor be ok or should i look at a higher-turn unit? I'd like a mix of crawling potential and also enough wheel-speed to have a bit of fun when in mud. Any input appreciated.
  9. Cheers Rich. Volksrod68 AT hotmail . Com Give me a price and pics of everything related to the body and we can go from there :-) Thanks.
  10. Just the body needed for a Globeliner. As complete as possible please but anything considered. Also axles for a Jugg2. Thanks, Joe UK preferably please.
  11. Looks as though the wheels/tires are off a Blazing Blazer (same tires as Willy). But they are 1.9 size, thats why you see people using modern XC tires on old Hilux runners and some restos. So...yep, they will fit size wise, but unsure on the way they fit on, as i'm sure the Willy wheels are a kinda beadlock fitting same as the Hilux with the inserts.
  12. What kind of sail are you after? I have a small one from a boat, needs washing..
  13. Complete leaf spring set and extra leafs wanted. Also.the associated shackles please. UK only please. Paypal waiting :-)
  14. Pair of axles wanted, Hi Lift preferably but anything considered :-) Don't mind well used as long as they run smooth. UK only. Paypal waiting :-) Thanks
  15. There is the onroad tarmac track at Wombwell in South Yorkshire. It's part of a Go Kart track, but i don't know any other details about it.
  16. I have a 4 channel transmitter sat here, but no receiver. Needs to be 27Mhz, 4 channel (though don't mind if its 5 or 6) and in working order. Paypal available :-)
  17. Food runs sound great, fingers crossed they will be open Sunday as we have only paid for rooms at the hotel and not breakfast.
  18. Booked myself into the races, fingers crossed a Clod i bought yesterday will turn up in time! But I am in the XC, Mini, Drift, and touring classes anyway so enough to keep me busy :-) Really looking forward to the meeting, an early thanks to Chris for bothering to put the effort into all this :-)
