  1. That too!!! Carbon chassis with anything would look awesome!
  2. yo beefmuffin (so used to wanting to say "curtain"), happen to have any spare pieces? for my Monster Beetle though?
  3. I dont know......... personally I would never use them. the only way they appeal to me is strictly due to the rarity and the amount of money you could get for them.......... if you already owned them although an all yellow or green one would be pretty cool. I saw they also made chassis' like this too....
  4. Done!! The lunchbox was also a project of mine as well... it took quite a bit of time sanding and spraying (lost of sanding lines in the paint) now it's done and contemplating buffing it to make it super smooth but on the fence about it as it really looks good and not sure a mirror like finish is needed (it has a slight orange peel to it) Also, did we want to make this an official listing of what works/ doesn't so this thread could be used as a guide of sorts?
  5. Finally cleaned off my Monster beetle body of all it's paint and finished redoing my vintage lunch box body too..... might not mean much to many but if you see the original pic of how it looked (and how many repaints I had to do just to get it to this point ugh) i attached a before shots for comparison..
  6. I'm not gonna lie............. I'm jealous! These things are next to impossible to get a hold of. Cant wait to see the progress!!
  7. lol........... yeah, I think I needed the steps like camaro did, once i got that then it made sense. maybe the Rockbuster body is a different material.......... oh well lesson learned PS anyone have a spare Rockbuster body lying around??
  8. Successfully refinished my beat up old lunchbox body that I had been needing to restore for some time now. AND successfully used easy off oven cleaner to remove the paint off my vintage monster beetle WIN!!! Now to find a replacement world engines rock buster body
  9. SO it looks like EASY OFF is the winner!!!!!!!!!!!! Pulled the beetle body out of the bag and it looked like crap then I started hosing it off and man did it make a difference. It took off about 85% of all the paint i did the toothbrush and that helped some too but still some thick spots where the easy off didnt seem to absorb.... so I sprayed it again and will probably hose it down tonight and if anything it left at that point hose it down!!! Shodog sorry I didnt listen to you on your initial post I was just so worried that if this stuff could pit aluminum how bad would it be for plastic......... apparently not at all.
  10. and just to update....... the rockbuster body was ruined looks like Im going to have to find another one
  11. PM sent! updated the list!!! Thanks Chickenman and chevelle
  12. Attempting to remove the paint off my rc car bodies as discussed in my thread about safe paint removal options.
  13. K cool, sprayed it and put in a plastic trash bag and wrapped the end to keep it closed and folded the top to the side (so the bag is just resting on the top of the car).
  14. Ok I'll try this.... question about the bag thing. I'm assuming it's ok that the bag rests in the body??
  15. Ok, so I gave this a go...................... Figured i would try it on my rockbuster body vs my original monster beetle body..... glad I did as while it did strip off the paint, it also made the plastic soft......... so soft that when I tried scraping the paing off with the soft rubber scraper it started peeling off plastic as well..... no bueno. Looks like im going to try Mr Muscle now.
  16. and installed!
  17. this might look familiar
  18. ^ This
  19. not really sure how youre planning on stuffing a 3s in the battery compartment..... just with a high mah rated 2s and you will be fine. Also "cheap" and "good" dont usually go well together, I would suggest you look at the Lipos that Hobby King sells as their packs are "good for the price".
  20. Hi guys, figured it would be an easy way to list out all I am needing across all my projects, hopefully some of the items are in you guy's spare parts bin. Honestly, most of the stuff I am looking for I would ask they be new or like new since 95% of my projects are going to be shelf queens... I know, I know....... I'm picky but I really do appreciate you taking the time to look. So here's the list so far.... Falcon- front wheels rear wheels rear tires front A-arm set Sonic Fighter- Front Rear wheels Monster Beetle- Front nose piece thingy where the bumper bolts to rear body mount cross bar piece Wipers, and rear license plate (these dont need to be perfect as I'll be painting them ) Hornet/lunchbox- Rear wheels hex adapter thingies rear axle metal rod (the part that goes through the gear box) rear axle little spring pieces DF01/dirt thrasher- rear gearbox assembly as there are stripped screws (black) the correct front uprights/knuckles (the red ones) battery clip piece center drive shaft (I might actually have one but gotta put my fingers on it) D5 and E12 pieces shown in the pic below That's all I can think of right now, If I realize I need more parts I will add them to the list. Again thanks in advance for any help. MUD
