  1. Well..... the big purge is starting.

If you guys remember I was laid off last year and while it was fun not having to work every day I'm starting to list some cars off on ebay. Also, since my wife has taken a job too my mother has decided to move in and "help"...... so that means no more office/man cave. Ive spent the last two days figuring out what I'm really ok with selling and started taking pics all while moving things out of my office and into other parts of the house. Here's an example.

    Before

    After

The Wild WIlly body is my original from my SWB which is next in queue to be worked on.

  2. 1, these are not the same wheels from the LB

2, the truck is pretty *******in heavy and imo those jumps are pretty big for this chunky monkey and depending on cold it could impact the pliability of the plastics used to make the wheels.

3, foams will help it to an extent, but then the poor suspension design for this rig will really start to show.

Finally.... the gf01 wheels/ tires are a bit sturdier than the current wheels they would/should hold up better.

    mic drop......

  3. So, started moving out RC cars and I liked this DT01 better than my shelf queen so it's staying for now. Figured Id use these otherwise useless GF01 wheels on it too. Oh and demolished the DT02 for its cleanup/rebuild.

Also non-Tamiya but I cleaned up two TLR SCTs to get them rebuilt into decent neighborhood bashers

  4. Hey guys, as you know on some cars I'm not keen on putting out a price to sell some cars and would rather let the people do the talking so I tend to use ebay (keeps low ballers at bay albeit does cost a fee but I feel it more than offsets the low ball offers :) )

I had bought one from a member here and the Mas fighter planning on using them as runners for the neighborhood kids and kids at heart to run around but realized they wont cut it due to a nice 1" lip in our driveway entries would send these cars into orbit or flip or break something so I need something bigger. The one I picked up from the member was too nice for me to want to sell so I am keeping it and selling my shelf queen.... Here's a pic of the DT family.

That being said, I have two nice looking DT01s up for grabs on the bay right now. One is a never run shelf queen Fighter buggy RX, and the other is a nice condition Mad fighter. Here's your chance to score them cheap... (unless the ebay gods choose otherwise :) )

I've been noticing all the neat monsterized DT03s showing up on Tamiyaclub. For those that have done it, how is the gearing working out for you in relationship to motor temps and acceleration? Years ago some folks on here were attempting to create a more modern Stadium Blitzer using the older DT02 as a base. The consensus then was that 1. the Blitzer had a slightly geared down version of the Bear Hawk gearbox to cope with the bigger tires 2. the DT02 was not geared low enough in general (overheating motors, sluggish acceleration), although torquier 550 motors made it possible somewhat. Now the DT03 uses the DT02 gearbox, so are these monster DT03s working out ok? I'm contemplating building one myself. Thanks for any insight.

Weird, never knew that the blitzer beelte and bear hawk have different gearing...... gear boxes are the same so I wonder how that was pulled off.

  6. Hey guys, like the title states Im looking for some DF03RA parts.

If you happen to have NIB spare bits is actually what Im after as I can buy a lot on ebay, but would rather work with someone in here  if they have the parts and want to get rid of them as my budget is tight right now.

I wouldn't mind having some mods, but my main focus is on replacing stock bits.

    The list is as follows

    Chassis 9335449

    battery door 10440193

    Arms 51368 X2

body mounts and bumper thingy 51367

A parts too if possible 10004432

Again if you have mods that you happen to have I wouldnt mind seeing what you have

    Thanks,

    MUD

Extra batteries are handy, you'll get around 15-20 minutes run time out of a 3000-3300mah battery and they take about an hour to charge (depending on the charger)

For tool kit, Tamiya include a little socket wrench that'll cover most eventualities, but a decent Philips or JIS tipped screwdriver is vital - JIS are hard to come by, so you may have to try a few philips/pozi bits to find a good fit

If you want to get a JIS tip, try this thread for info https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/84464-jis-screwdrivers/&do=findComment&comment=691316

Other than that, some sprue cutters, a decent knife and some pliers are usually all that's needed

Bearings on the truck and a steel pinion for the motor are decent upgrades if the truck's going to get a lot of use although bearings are easier to fit during the build as opposed to later on

    +1

dont go crazy on too many mods till he gets the hang of it, these trucks are super top heavy and will tip over easily. Once he gets through that, you can start adding more power and mods to it.

  8. Hey guys, need to thin the herd down a bit so starting to sell some stuff.

I know that were all pretty much in the same FB groups as well so you might have seen some that I am selling for now. They are on ebay and although I listed a shipping price for the US, I will ship internationally but buyer to pay additional shipping fees.

Heres your chance to try and score these for cheap.
