  1. Jason, Take a look in my trades.... http://www.tamiyaclub.com/trades_model.asp?cid=119508&id=154 Alex
  2. Even has Twinset's yellow colours down pat.... lol....
  3. I've found the same.... heaps of parts in my supply, I'm building a couple of runners for the neighbours. I have actually converted a Hornet tub to be a Super Hornet (sort of...) build... nothing like a little bit of cut and scrape! Alex
  4. What he said..... after every paint job where I stuff up the lines (note I say WHEN, not IF), I get in there with a cotton bud or something and the Tamiya Polycarb Cleaner. The sooner the better, as the paint is a little softer before it fully cures. Alex
  5. Wow.... TT02 White Lower Deck.... add some cheap bling to your drifter today! Alex
  6. I'm pleased to see this, as I didn't manage to get this body first (second if you count the original) time around.... and I have a nice set of mixed-offset alloy mini wheels that are going to suit it down to the ground! Nice narrow offset for the front, and wider offset to fill out those rear guards.... Alex
  7. How about painting it red and adding go-fast / GT stripes?
  8. Aerodynamic advantage on a Hotshot? That's like painting a brick red and saying it's faster.... Alex
  9. Can't read everything here!!!! lol... Alex
  10. I predict a 4wd wheelie Lunchbox..... Alex
  11. I have HEAPS of old electronic gear, that I usually store in a box or bag until I have both (1) enough parts, and (2) enough time... then I have a dedicated day at testing them all. To do it properly, firstly I get a known set of good parts for a complete system i.e. - receivers, transmitters and crystals in known working order for all frequencies to be tested (transmitter channels must be reversible) - a number of known working servos - a 4xAA battery box (or receiver pack) - silver can motor in good condition (for testing ESCs) - alligator clips for connecting any wires without connectors - battery connector converters, for powering up ESCs - a couple of known charged batteries, usually at least one each NiMH and LiPo - Motor break-in stand to mount motors in (RPM do a good one) - servo polarity reversing cable, for KO and similar servos - a recent acquisition, a small servo tester, which has proven useful many times over. - of course, it goes without saying that once you have all that sorted, you also need a REALLY BIG TABLE to get to work on!!! Then, the idea is to replace only one part at a time in the known good setup, and test. This way, you know exactly what is working and what is faulty, as you're only changing one part. Works really well for testing crystals too. One last thing I would suggest, to save time in the future. I use an old ream of dot-matrix address label stickers, which I cut up into small (8mm x 5mm or similar) labels. With these, I create a variety of labels, for marking everything once you test it i.e.: - 27A, 40F for frequency of transmitters and receivers - OK, DODGY, or DUD, for items that work perfectly, might be a little stuttery, or don't work at all. - For receivers, I often mark them with "s + -" or "s - +" to show which polarity configuration servos work in them - Some blank labels, for marking wildcards.... things like "Dodgy ch1", "No reverse", etc. Come to think of it, I'm probably due for another testing and marking day myself...... wish me luck! Hope some of this helps! Alex
  12. Good on you for sharing your Good on you for getting your point across. It may cost you a negative feedback, but you've taken the MORAL high ground, which still matters to some people.... I thought that might work too, but have become disenchanted with them after a recent purchase. Seller was selling a Tekin G420 ESC with box and decals, as well as a couple of low-turn brushed motors. I duly won the auction for just over AUS$22, a bargain price, but apparently what these things go for on the open market. Seller sends me a message that "there was a reserve" ( ), and I would have to pay AUS$135 to get my item..... did I mention that I had already won the item for just over AUS$22??? So I pay the guy anyway, and he laughs at me and wishes me luck on getting my money back.... so I send all the information to eBay by reporting the seller and the auction, and wait and see what happens. In a complete shock, eBay ALLOWS HIM TO CANCEL THE AUCTION!!!! No input at all from me, just cancelled! He used the excuse of "Item no longer available", and we all know what that means.... "I didn't get enough money for it". Surprisingly, I get my money back, but it's not good enough, so I go through the motions of contacting eBay by phone, and talk to some robot, who assures me that the seller will be 'punished'. I don't really believe it, but what can you do.... A week later, the seller has relisted the item!!! Remember, the item is no longer available.... and yet, here it is, relisted for AUS$135 BIN! Would you believe, there's NO ACTUAL EASY WAY to report this type of activity..... as there is nothing in the eBay system that lines up with "something that was sold then cancelled then put up for sale again", and they don't allow you to type your own reasons in the reports any more. Another call to the eBay robots, "we'll punish him with the eBay system".... and the seller gets away almost scot-free. Well, except for my negative feedback. Seller has relisted the same item many times; last time I saw it was at AUS$100 BIN. Anyway, thanks for letting me share my story and vent my spleen.... and good luck to Chris on getting a positive resolution! Alex
  13. Anything here interest you? http://www.tamiyaclub.com/trades_model.asp?cid=117914&id=154 Alex
  14. An idea MANY of us would be considering.... I've turned purple and expired from holding my breath...... any updates???? Anybody??? Surely someone has ditched the Jimny body (temporarily or otherwise) and tried some different shells...... need direction! No MF01X coming my way in the foreseeable future, but want to be prepared.... Alex
  15. I used to think that.... but I just did a quick count in my hobby room, and had to stop when I hit over 30 projects waiting to be finished... and that's without the 18 I pictured above that arrive tomorrow!!!! That's a bit beyond "a few unfinished projects"...... Alex
  16. I know exactly how you feel.... I have so many projects unfinished, I should focus on them. But, no. Instead, I'm picking this lot up on Tuesday... Here we go again!!!! Alex
  17. I have plenty of spare old 27MHz AM receivers sitting around that I could part with.... but they're all down in Australia! Let me know if you can't find a good number closer, and I'll dig some out. Alex
