Can anyone identify a front wheel for me?
Incredible_Serious replied to Incredible_Serious's topic in Other makes
I tell a lie... the two auctions below show that I was not EXACTLY correct... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1781293400 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1780036518 It's actually a Kyosho Wildcat Circuit 10 car. I have the roll cage, bonnet, front and rear arms, backbone, shocks, front tyres, etc etc... Talk to me if you need them. Lord knows I don't. Alex -

3-speed battery question...
Incredible_Serious replied to Incredible_Serious's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Cool Willy, thanks, I'll check that out at home... I understand with the D cells too, that's what these look like... I'll chuck it on my 240v charger when I get home... now, what to put it in??? Alex -
Hey all... In recent 'Bay trade, I received a battery pack... 7.2V with Tamiya connectors... only it's 4000mAh, 6 cells, and in saddle configuration! The pack is made by a company called Five Star... Questions: - For those who have pulled apart a Tamiya 4000mAh battery pack, what is the configuration (no. of cells, physical dimensions, weight, etc.) - Should this pack be charged differently to a normal pack, or will my peak detection charger still cut the mustard? - How sickly should I gear my car up to use this pack in a 5 minute race??? (Just kidding...) Any info appreciated. Alex

This would be SUMMER projects for us Aussies, hey Darryn? [] Looks like I'll have to: 1. Prepare the Hornet for Hornet Cup racing next year. 2. Pull down and rebuild properly my newish Marui Jeep 3. Rebuild my Fox (when the chassis appears...) 4. Strip and rebuild Schumacher Storm truck gearbox. 5. Kyosho gas Lancer Evo.... hmmmmmmm.... 6. Remove and check oil pump on my 4AGE Sprinter (1:1) 7. Oil up and get running again my rally car (1:1) Never a dull moment... Alex

Hey all, just received the black Golden Eagle in the mail that I won on the Bay... sweet!!! Looks nice with a 6v Tamiya battery and an ancient Hi-Tec Challenger 2P radio system... got to love that brown... Pictures in my showroom when I can... The question though... I need a manual!!! Anyone got one I can copy? Or electronic? Scanned one would suit fine... contact me here, or e-mail me on: Incredible_Serious AT bigpond DOT com Thanks for watching... Alex

Hey all... not too sure what brand this is, but was wondering if it rings a bell with anyone... I recently picked up a bunch of bits from an OLD car, not too sure if they're all together or not, but they are interesting. With the bits came a set of front wheels with tyres. The tyres are roughly 2 3/4" (67cm) in diameter, with five fairly tall ribs, and around them they have the words "Sand Super"... wheel is molded dark brown or black, with eight holes, four for phillips head screws (with captive nuts on the other side), four straight through... axle runs on what looks like bronze bushings. As for the rest, there is a metal frame, a spine that looks like an old belt channel that everything bolts onto, a light plastic radio box in a sort of Y shape, a metal roof about 3 1/2" by 3" with the sides rounded down, and a strange cantilever-style suspension bulkhead... I know this probably doesn't help much, but I have no digital camera available at the moment... One other thing, the whole thing has a smell of nitro fuel... may be an old gas buggy... Any guesses with pictures (or links) I will check out... correct identification wins you the adulation of the whole universe... Thanks... Alex

A company here in OZ has started producing some interesting bodyshells... some can be seen at the following E-Bay auctions. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...item=1776757565 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...item=1776762092 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...item=1776762093 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...item=1776762095 I think they're made by a company called "Classic Forms" in NSW, Australia. You could try e-mail at classics@terrigal.net.au I asked him for an AE86 body, as the ABC Hobby one from Japan is around 4500yen plus about the same in postage... a bit too expensive!!! Alex

Cheeky... Yeah Willy, the RM's were a good pickup... but alas, I have now on-sold both of them. Made a good profit too... ;-) Will still be rebuilding my project Fox, thinking of running Hornet cup next year, and have picked up some interesting little bits and pieces on the Bay recently... more once the stuff arrives... Looks like the Aussies have commandeered this thread... One of these days, PandaBear!, you and I should get together and talk... then again, we probably already have!! Alex

Hey Night Owl, that picture looks like the one I've got in my showroom... except for it being so clean and new-looking... My Ultima came with both the aluminium and the plastic/graphite/some stuff chassis, both with cutouts for saddlepacks... Really wish someone would show me a link to the manual.... Alex

Saw some weird ones of these on the weekend... looked like a cheap knock-off brand, called Tri-Star I think... looked like the Tamiya logo but with three stars instead of two... Alex

Hey Blondini boy... In the 80's there was an Australian movie called 'Malcolm', where a guy attached a camera and a gun to an RC car and robbed a bank with it... then got a few more and put them in column-type ashtrays and robbed another bank with those... Same movie also had an early Honda Civic that could split down the middle to become two vehicles... Alex

Hey all... I have decided to rid myself of the evil temptation that is my RM Mk1 Lola... (see the E-Bay section, or my showroom/trades). SO, the question is, what would it be worth? We're talking about a complete Lola in parts (except for the decals), unpainted shell and wing, rare hop-up steering bearing set, and all the bits and pieces clean and ready to build. Original instructions included... I noted a recent Auction by Darryn and how much he got, just wondering what mine would likely sell for. I know this question is probably a bit unanswerable, I guess I'm trying to guage the interest in this car... Alex Incredible_Serious AT bigpond DOT com

Hey all, After a bit of indecision, and the realisation that I cannot do it justice, I have decided to part with my Lola. It is in too good condition for me to drive (have never had it running outside myself), so I'd prefer a collector to have it. Have a look at the pics: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=1308&id=154 More information can be gained by e-mailing me, and I can send more pics too. Why have I posted it here? Because it will go on the 'Bay soon... unless someone offers something better... Alex
