No worries about that lol. It's nice to see them though.

3s lipo on silvercans is the way to go in these as these are neutral timed. This really does run at the limits of the chassis. The only other motor that really works well is the Tamiya Super Stock BZ/TZ (same motor) as you can reverse the timing by cutting the tab. I found a lot of lower turn motors just don't perform as the torque isn't there. Esp the £10 venom 19/20T type. Any motor Inc sports tuned with fixed (advanced) timing won't run properly in the flipped gearbox.

NIB Blazer and vintage Bruiser questions
Prescient replied to funkyfresh's topic in General discussions
Couple of mint Blazing Blazers went through auction 18-24 months ago. £1800 & £2200 if I recall. There is a thread on here somewhere. Be aware, most couriers won't insure these due to the category of item if you consider posting. Suggest cash / bank transfer and collection only. Bruiser £400-£800 given box condition. If you post on the main tamiyaclub page for sale section not just on the forum, you will find lots of the vintage collectors only peruse that and not the forum. I had someone fly over from Germany to collect some rare mib kits from me as wasn't possible to crate and insure for sensible money. Quite a few UK buyers came to collect or I delivered too. -
So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish!
Prescient replied to Granddad Stinky's topic in General discussions
@Granddad Stinky had you any plans for my old super clod? -
I've got a few boxes of spares to sell still which I need to go through but otherwise I haven't been back into it. I hadn't even been on tamico until today and noticed the Wild Willy 2 on special. I keep telling myself that I'm going to buy and build myself a new super clod buster at some stage so will hold back various spares for that on the off chance I get round to it.

removing TS paint overspray and tape bleed...
Prescient replied to 78Triumph's topic in General discussions
Is this overspray onto another painted area or unfinished body. Hobby knife blade to scrape and get clean lines and wet and dry to simply sand back if unfinished area. If finished, you may be able to light scrape / sand and polish depending on bleed and if it's reacted/blended with the base coat you want to retain. Also uPVC solvent cleaner (SX from Toolstation if in UK can work if used sparingly on cotton bud) Otherwise, reality is it's a re-finish if the above is no use. -
Hope everyone is keeping well. Popped into TJD Models yesterday as was over that way. Such an amazing shop. Managed not to spend anything though. Nice to see the Avante and Egress kits on the shelf together.

In a DT-03 series cup it will be fine. In everything else then nope. Even if you spend a fortune on tuning and hop ups, race orientated cars will outperform by a big margin and ultimately on a better value basis.

Ah yes, Toy Town in Leamington Spa, Midlands UK. Always had the good stuff including Clod & Bullhead + Tanks.

Clod Buster stock with 3s?
Prescient replied to OP480's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
3s lipo, standard Silvercans, hobywing 860 is still the best combo in one of these. Tried and tested for years by many of us. -
@Nobbi1977PM me your details and I have a metal geared turnigy/trackstar one I can send you. Brand new with horns/screws etc. Just cover the postage if you want it.

My newly acquired TXT-2
Prescient replied to Peter_B's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
If you cut the arches higher on the body you will have a closer look to BF18 which they have gone for (as per my black txt-2 I did) TxT-1 wheels are still the best fit on these although spacers work on the clod fit wheels. -
Sport Tuned Motors In A Clod
Prescient replied to kaiser's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Best pound for pound performance in the clod is the standard silver can motors on 3s lipo using the hobywing 860 esc. Beyond that, the chassis and handling really doesn't benefit from more power even with oil dampers. Most mod or sports motors from other brands lack the torque for the clod anyway. The Traxxas 550 motors really only benefit once you increase battery voltage to the 8.4+ packs. You can zero time or reverse time the Tamiya Superstock Motors by cutting the timing locking tab and adjusting inc depending on which motor needs reversing. For simplicity, I always found the Tamiya Superstock BZ motors with timings adjusted accordingly on NiMH packs or the Silvercans on 3s lipos the perfect option on the clod. -

Argos, The Entertainer and Smyth's manage to complete very well with the internet on toys and baby and often set the benchmark pricing. Halfords still has the majority market on bikes. Toys R Us neither competed with its high street neighbours nor offered a nice shopping experience. Huge queues at busy times, erratic stock, laborious returns along with massive aging premises (how many stores leak when it rains with the buckets out lol) which required huge investment. Toys R Us' operational (financial/asset) liabilities were too great to manage in a sell off or recovery including staff pensions. They also had plenty of time to resolve this but stripped the wealth out. The stores had space for a large frame soft play + cafe and RC/slot car tracks. Some stores could house indoor ice rinks/skate areas along with all that plus the toys and room to boot. Maplin just didn't complete for a market anymore. Essentially Maplin's niche and target market moved on long ago and they have simply been racking up unservicable debts for many years waiting to call time. Home project electronics went the way of RC in the 80s albeit a few years later. The rest of the kit they sell is considerably cheaper on the high street let alone against on line stores from batteries & torches through to home tech, RC and pc tech. Maplin often sell poundland/b&m/home bargains tech tat at many times the price.
