  2. I play the Family Guy Star Wars video every night, knocks me right out My job's very dependent on timed deliveries, relying on machine shops etc so I'm always trying to square stuff off - Unless I can get to sleep, I usually end up thinking about all the what-ifs for the forthcoming few days, even though there's very little I can do about any of it at 1am Years ago I realised I needed a 'distraction' so eneded up watching films etc on a laptop running off battery - that way it shuts down after about 20 mins. With Family Guy (Blue Harvest) playing, I rarely get past the first ten minutes before I'm out, and that's me for the night then. Even if I go away I take a MP4 playing 'walkman' with me, and just watch FG with the screen resting on my forearm It's on every portable device I own, so not getting to sleep is fairly rare now
  3. Chris said he'll take a look at the issue later - for the time being, edit out the [fig] text
  4. Suggest they try Parcel2Go for pricing too - They're a lot cheaper than Parcel Force's website for Parcel Force! I've used them loads, and you drop the parcel at the post office like any other PF drop, but they offer the exact same service cheaper. It might just be that the seller's only looking at 'dpd.com' for pricing not dpd prices on an agent site.
  5. @acprc Look up 'aceofaxe' on FB, he gets bodies painted in the UK, can't remember who does 'em though If you have any trouble contacting him, let me know and I'll try for you Found it: 51 Paint Depot (on FB) LINK
  6. i been listening to Easter Island Statues a lot recently, this is their new one;
  7. The 'allowance' per person for pics is 50mb - if you're seeing a 0.15mb limit it's because you've already used up 49.85mb on pics. For more space, your best bet is an external pic-hoster like imgur (as posted above) or Flickr https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/86645-photos/ https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/83249-test-pic/
  8. BITD, the normal method of locking diffs was to use JB Weld - a 'liquid steel' putty/2-part product which, after being kneaded together set pretty much rock hard. I've never tried to unlock a diff locked like that, but you should still be able to take the housing apart to see if that's what was used. Some people used a fourth diff gear wedged in place, but I'm not sure how tight that locked the diff. CC-01 Locking plates were the tidy option, but I doubt they've been used. The benefit of locking both diffs was no diff action - vital for rock crawling, not much good for turning circles Clods is good!
  9. Thundertech used to sell female ended Clod CVDs from MIP - might be worth asking them or MIP if they made TLT versions Edit: They these? https://www.rcpcrawlers.com/product.php?productid=648 http://www.rc-recycler.com/rcp-mip-hardened-cvd-axles-w-bearings-tamiya-tlt-crawler-scale-scaler.html
  10. I think I just bought the same thing - mine has inputs for throttle and steering servo Y leads, so light controller gets the turn signal when the servo does etc. All I was going to do was run all the 'permanently on' lights from the third channel on my radio so I can turn lights on/off as required If you're considering a TLU-01, you could always take the PCB out of its casing and conformal coat the board, that'll give it a fair bit of protection
  11. As driven by 'Legless Laurence' - He's either drunk or got no legs The tyres and wheels don't do much for it's offroad image (woulda preferred chevron tread like the other two 6x6) , but the body's nice enough
  12. AFAIK Netsmith just decided on the first 150 to be the cutoff. Tamiya 101 decided on the first 100 (plus the Mountaineer, that being model 101 in their list) It's just a line in the sand really. 'Vintage' is a fairly non-descript term, like old, tasty or nice - It's down to an individual's interpretation/preference. I dunno what happened at 151 to upset Chris, I'll ask him next time we chat
  13. This just popped up on Mokei Kagaku's FB page, couldn't find it mentioned on TC (please post link if it is!) TT-01 Chassis
  14. Here's the original trade ad;

  16. As of 5 mins ago, RC Mart has it at $359 plus shipping; http://www.rcmart.com/tamiya-58583-egress-2013-road-p-38061.html?cPath=420_1183 Shipping is at least $64, so $423 = £322 before any customs charges, which could be up to £64 plus a clearing fee Haven't imported from RC Mart for a while, so don't know what their customs avoidance process is like Legally, it should cost you around £400 +/- change to import (£322 + £64 + £13) As a subscriber, you get 10% off at Fusion; https://www.fusionhobbies.com/product/58583-tamiya-egress £377 Tamico have it pre-order for £347 shipped (stock 5 October) - no import fees as they're in Germany https://tamico.de/navi.php?a=25477&lang=eng
  17. Have you tried copying the settings given for the non-S? I've seen a few people running the Turnigy version
  18. Check out Teri Wilde's videos, they might help
  19. From 2 posts up; It was a vintage Bruiser bed with sleeper but I cut it and built a drop bed. It is very accurate on both sides and balanced on flat surface. Measured 99 times, cut once.
  20. That doesn't look like a standard bed (it's deep!) - are you sure it's Tamiya? The curvature might have been affected by the mods (if it's a modified Tamiya)
  21. A good description will have to do then - Pick-up bed or closed back like a Dakar/Raid truck?
  22. Be interesting to see what 'cab over' means to a Japanese designer - To me it means Globe Liner, FC101/Dredd Shed or the truck @Juggular posted
  23. OK, just done a bit of wiki-skimming (so everything from this point is true) and the portals reduce stress on the drivetrain, so durability on the G6-TR should be better than the originals, provided the portals hold up. If the TR has been redesigned from the portals up, then it could benefit from a lighter drivetrain etc. thus lowering the COG, but even if they've just binned the knuckles and added portals there'll be benefits - Don't forget though, durability is subjective; these trucks are usually designed around a 27t brushed motor and a 7.2v NiMh stick pack, not a arc reactor/brushless combo https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal_axle
