Hey Bib Whatever's in that bottle, stop drinking it[] I don't have the original dampers, so it's a case of trying to find; a) A shock that extends far enough for the suspension travel One that compresses the necessary length 3) Something in blue or black with coloured springs[8D] Not worried about threaded pre-load adjusters or any of that tosh, just going for pretty.

Cheers Sjoerd I was actually considering maybe touring car shocks (aluminium and colours too), are any the appropriate length?

I just been phoning round for shocks for the BMW mini - shock part no. 50519 Two shops quoted £20 a pair Apex charge £18.99 a pair according to their website Tower hobbies charge $17.59 FOR FOUR!!!!!!!!! http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGK11&P=0 God I hate buying locally! Anyone know if a set of four is available over here cheap? UPDATE; Amazing really, I phoned four shops in the UK (plus Apex' website) and although none of them had the shocks in stock, they all stated, quite positively, that the 50519 shocks were in packs of two - one shop even reckoned they supply them to a local racer as part of a sponsor deal as pairs. I just phoned the importer to check, and they're sold in fours. So, unless you got a good local shop, phone the importers!

I'm in the process (still) of building my scorcher up, and was going to put coilovers on it - anyone know what are the best alternative parts? It came with coilovers on the front, but they're too short so the suspension doesn't work properly - lower arms don't reach stops on extension. Cheers a lot

removing paint from my Sand Scorcher body
TWINSET replied to simensays's topic in General discussions
I've done 5 or 6 bods now, and only had this with one. A crack appeared on the door line on both sides, but I don't know if they were there previous to dunking. It is usually a pretty reliable method[V] -
Found these thru google; http://www.dsaw-hobbies.com/Products/Car_T...utrage_ST2.html http://www.kyosho.com/cars/rtrs/rtrelectrics.html

Postal charges can be found at; www.royalmail.com then click on 'postal prices'. OK, got 4 happy customers now, and some more enquiries, anyone else need some?, ordering Friday 24th

M-chassis wheels for the VW Golf Gr.2
TWINSET replied to miramar's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Hi again Got no idea what size the wheels are, but here's a UK importer of RC stuff. Near the bottom is 'wheels' - if any look suitable, let me know and I'll find out the full spec. http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/cml_products.htm -
Quality - thanks a lot.

Shipping costs.
TWINSET replied to CoolHands's topic in Off-Site sales plugs, tips & gossip - Including eBay, Gumtree etc.
You could drop him a mail asking why shipping charges are $48 - sometimes the seller insists on sending it with a 'carrier' such as UPS etc. They are usually higher charging than 'domestic' postal services, but offer far better traceability if the parcel gets lost - this is a benefit for the seller. I used to send international stuff by recorded delivery until I found out the post office only tracks it 'til it leaves the UK - after that, nothing. It really depends what the Hong Kong postal service is like! Parcel force UK - UK is £11.85 upto 20kg, so it doesn't seem that bad. If it's any consolation, I ordered a toy gun from HK, and shipping was $33. -
Shelf life of break fluid for stripping paint?
TWINSET replied to BeetleMeister's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
The stuff I got is DOT3, but dunno if it's good or bad. A couple of my bods have stripped very easily, a couple the paint softened and needed some 'work' All I do is rub them over with a scouring pad, then sling them back in. I've never had a shell go back to it's original colour, ie white, but they spray up fine. For fine detail, scrub with a toothbrush or carefully 'chisel' the build up away with the tip of a scalpel - use the back of the blade so you're scraping and not cutting. Super strip is also good for details, just paint it on and leave it a couple of miutes usually. http://www.phoenix-paints.co.uk/ie/index.htm Second time today I've mentioned that - wonder if there's any chance of commission[] -
Thanks Miramar I just found a body fit chart; http://www.tamiya.com/english/rc/rcitem/parts/rc21.htm What stops the other bodies from fitting as, according to the same website, they all have a 239mm wheelbase? (apart from the original mini) I have the new BMW Mini
-
What else fits apart from Mini, and does anyone make any wierd ones? Just gonna build up my Mini using original shell for runner, was looking for a spare for queening.

id="quote">id="quote">I think it's down to the seller to leave feedback first, as obviously, their side of the deal is completed first. I know of 1 seller not wanting to leave a negative for fear of getting one himself from the pond-life that never paid. I always read both sides of any negative that may involve me, and in manuspain's case, would have no worries about dealing with him. Like he said, he left a neutral because there were aspects he was unhappy about and made them clear in his feedback about the buyer. Providing anyone who reads his neg also reads the feedback he left that led to it, I don't think He'd have a problem.

Roby has them, but it's offline at the moment http://digilander.libero.it/oldtamiya/video/video.htm
