  1. Spain is no better - I shipped some plumbing hardware to my father over 2 months ago (12 April) via UPS and the box still hasn't been delivered. UPS got it to Madrid in 4 days and it hasn't moved since. The previous shipment, via DPD, took a month but before Brexit packages were taking about 5 days. Parcel2Go sent me a mail last week about various local-tax declaration option which have just been introduced - I can't see things improving for some time. An 18kg package to Spain via DPD Road used to cost around £20 to Spain - DPD don't even offer to ship to Spain at present and the likes of UPS now only offer services around £100
  2. A point they make about the chassis is the longitudinal battery though, and have Tamiya ever made concessions for LiPo before now? Apart from stating their ESC are not LiPo compatible, do they even acknowledge them as a source of volts?
  3. Yup - if there was a second option they would/should have shown it. Chassis with optional motor positions etc. always show all the alternatives Still trying to work out whether the lower rear 1/4 of the chassis is a separate moulding to the rest of the tub, or if it's just the way the light's catching it. If it is separate, that could also explain the inserts as something beefier for that rear plate to attach to. It looks separate here, otherwise there wouldn't be any point in the screw going up to the top section
  4. Can't help thinking the 'battery doors' are just insert mouldings to strengthen the back 1/4 of the chassis There's still a lot of screws going into those sections from the top, so if it is battery access, there's a lot to undo Next two pics show a lot of moulded parts passing thru what is suggested as the space for a battery, especially to right of pics, behind servo saver
  5. For licensed bodies, it can sometimes be that the manufacturer licenses a finite number of bodies for an initial run, then decides whether or not it's worth licensing a second run. There's a lot of 'speculative legend' here about Tamiya 'losing licenses' that could be just as easily explained as them deciding it's not worth the money to have a licensed body when something generic will work just as well - Take the Clod body, for instance - the lack of Chevy branding doesn't seen to have affected it's popularity as far as length of time the kit's been available, so one could argue the licensing of the Chevy branding simply wasn't seen as necessary. Similarly with the legends regarding molds getting destroyed or modified - if they thought sales would be significantly improved by remaking a mold, you can bet they'd do it - look at the number of brand new tools they make for 1/14 scale trucks - there seems to be the money in that sector to justify new tooling quite often.
  6. Perry, same as always - he seems to have a thing for Avantes Looks like the cockpit area is a seperate moulding - there's a lip inside the canopy for the 'instrument panel' I wish they'd have chosen some different wheels, otherwise I quite like it - would look good in a gun metal grey or even that Amarok 'copper'
  7. Just in case you missed the week-old thread already running;
  8. Predator X-10s did pretty well BITD, they had inboard shocks at both ends and the Traxxas Revo was pretty popular too
  9. I wish they'd tweaked the nose instead of those two 'caps' over the screws, but quite like the body otherwise
  10. I can't see any of SPD's sales for some reason - I can see your link @Falcon#5 and they still have more of them for sale, but when I click on 'other items' or store, there's nothing listed The only way I can see their sheets is look at 'completed' then click on the listing; https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/screenprintdigital/m.html?item=153243559142&LH_PrefLoc=2&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&rt=nc My set got completed yesterday, both from @Fusion-Hobbies Got diffs for both and a set of Scorcher rear tyres for one of 'em Might do a Scorcher shell on one too...

  15. XT60 with the rear cover - they look sooooo nice Tried most of them; prefer XT60 assembly, fit and disconnect action the best though. Powerpoles probably second as I bought a crimp tool for them, so don't need to solder

  18. @Mad Ax - sorry, I wasn't mentioning you as a means of correcting your 'netiquette', - I was just using that topic as an example of a thread that does take a while to load and the 'infrastructure' involved Dunno what the problem is there - I use Firefox and Chrome, and in both browsers the pics are all there by the time I've scrolled down past the text.
  19. A lot of Mad Ax's pics take a long time to load - they're hosted on TCPhotos, you'd have to check with Chris if there's any limitations for display speed. If I scroll down to the bottom of a page, it could be a couple of minutes before they all load and I'm on100mbps fibre with no restrictions - This one, for example is a real slow-loader https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/93162-durandal-custom-22-monster/ Page 1 has 47 images, all around 8mb, so that's around 1/3gb? The forum is actually pre-loading the pics in the background though - If I don't scroll down the page I can see the slider in the vertical scroll getting smaller, which means the page is getting longer as the pics load
  20. RC4WD used to make 40 series adaptors but the 40 series range (wheels and tyres) is long since discontinued. The hex was something like 23mm (as opposed to 12 for Tamiya) and the offset was all wrong for Clod/TXT axles, so the adaptors doubled-up as wideners too. I had a set of 40 series wheels (Outback Welds?) back in 2008/9 and even then the tyres were hard to come by
  21. Cheers Neil - once it was all sorted it was actually April 1st so I doubt any leaving party invites would've been replied to
  22. I'm not a mod any more, haven't been for just over two years now, but I'll send Chris a message. As background, the Builds forum was 'mod approval' to stop threads ending up there which were not specifically builds - hence the 'Build Tips' forum. When the Builds forum was first active every question regarding building a model was posted in there and there were a lot of reports of threads in the wrong forum. By making it mod approval, we got notified every time a new thread was posted and it made housekeeping a lot easier. There's no point re-posting a thread which hasn't been approved yet, as all it means is the thread either hasn't been seen by a mod yet or it's been moved to the relevant forum (if it wasn't a build).
  23. These; https://www.ebay.com/itm/294114211001?hash=item447a92b4b9:g:EE8AAMXQUmFSj0xX They stop the axles rotating under acceleration and braking. The kit ones are plastic and eventually snap.
  24. So, an extra 20% as per imports from USA etc. (€891/5 =€178 or £155) I've not had any 'VAT paid' imports come in yet, so no idea if there's any PF fees for checking the VAT status etc. but they (and other carriers) could stand to lose a fair bit of income if they don't have to process (and charge for) so many imports.
