From what I can make out in the Picture you are all wrong ! an actual picture of the front end would help, but from what I can see, its just a "standard" Egress front shock tower (which is made of FRP, not Carbon) as is the rear, just looks like its got some additional parts to mount the shocks to on it. BTW - FRP = Fibre reinforced plastic (or fibreglass)

[?] id="quote">id="quote"> close but no cigar !, its a Ferrari Kit + Body with Sauber sticker sheet, it will only be available in Europe and It's not a proper Tamiya kit (as there is no part number for it)

Also some of the 1/8th scale bodies might be made to fit, but I think they would still end up being too big 2 - ...just because you think they are horrid does not mean everyone else does 3 - Losi XX might fit, but losi stopped making those a while ago so might not be as easy to find, and as they are 2 wd the body is not as wide at the front end id="quote">id="quote">1 - I know all about making individual cars, trust me. and I think you kinda answered my entire point about the 1/8th bodies(They arnt 1/10th so whats the point, they will never fit) 2 - I know that, thats not the point. 3 - I meant the XX4, like you already said earlier. but on the whole I am in the same frame of mind as you on the matter of Tamiya "reviving" the buggy kraze, lets wait and see.

quote:Originally posted by RicH_87I'm not sure but i think the re-release has the Pink Acto-Power 2wd motor where as the original didn't. id="quote">id="quote">actually its a new motor, that cannot be purchased seperatly, it has the same can as the 11t modified that Tamiya make, but is only around 17 turns, and its not ballraced or rebuildable. But yes, that is the oinly difference.

Just to confirm , the things that make an Egress definetley an Egress are as follows ;- Egress has Gold springs on the Hi-cap Dampers. Egress also has a unique front shock tower, different to the Avante 2001 version, and different again to the one that comes in 53036 Hi-cap Damper set, as that one is to enable you to mount the dampers on an original Avante. Egress also has thicker suspension arms, front and rear. and chunkier front uprights. These are the parts that set the Egress apart from the Avante + 2001's with hop-ups on, because all the other parts/options plus the body , wheels and tires etc, can be purchased seperatly. The only parts that are the same on both cars, are the Transmission parts inc. the gearbxes), apart from the ball diffs on the Egress, rear shocktower and the aluminum chassis hardware and N-Parts. and finally, the rear wing on the Avante 2001 is unique also, as the side panels are a different shape to the ones on the "Rear wing set A" as used on the Egress, Astute, Super Asute.
