  1. Hi no not realy because the robinson racing 32 pinions are smooth with the tamiya cars.
  2. I know all this already i been into RC for over 30 years. These tamiyas with stock brushed motors are my have FUN rc's i have lots of others with brushless systems and nitro. I would not bother with any brushed motor but for these tamiyas i feel a brushed black sport tuned motor will be pleanty enough. I can't see trying to control a brushless lunch box or FAV or scorcher or a hornet with a brushless syetem enless you get like a 2600 or 2700KV motor and that will be pleanty for the tamiyas. Shen
  3. Great write up I do know this and i do feel the J has more torque it pops up the truck a little more so it probably will push a larger pinion gear and make another car get a little faster with the option of changing gear ratios.... so in the dirt and short grass the J motor probably will pull the truck through it a little faster. Funny i have a RPM checker and the J motor is 4000RPM less than a black sport tuned motor. and on my motor break in macheine AT 1.2V the J motor draws .69Amps and the sport tuned draws 1.29amps so i can tell the black motor most lily will be a much faster motor. I just think fro the price on e-bay for 2 bucks more you can get the black sport tuned motor so i think that's the best way to go.
  4. I would try a 32 pitch robinson racing i have on on my 2011 holiday buggy and it's silky smooth.
  5. Thanks guys... I learned the HARD way I have a lunch box and a pumkin less than 2 monthes old each not used to many times... I drag raced them against each other and they where the same speed and then i put a J johnson hop up motor in the pumpkin after braeking it in on my motor break in machiene for 60Min at 1.2V GEUSS WHAT drag raced them again and the two trucks are exact same speed...no speed gain...BUMMER black can sport tuned motor is the way to go for sure!
  6. Thanks for the input. Shen
  7. Very nice!! Are those the 3racing shocks? If so how are they and do they limit shock travel in any way or are they the same lenght as the stock shocks...also do they include everything so you can just pop em right on? THANKS
  8. Thanks for the info guy's!! Mr crispy yea i am into 1/16 tanks we have a group and all get together and do IR battles lots of FUN. Also have the 1/24 scales and have a indoor battle field i made for the FOV and VS tanks. I will check out your links. Thanks
  9. Hi guy's maybe somebody can help me out here I just want to know the speed gains you will get between these motors. i am running stock ESC and stock 540 kit motor in a lunch box... about how many MPH faster will my lunch box go if i swap out the stock 540 to a J Johnson motor and how many MPH faster from the J johnson to the better sport tuned motor? THANKS Shen
  10. Hi yes but wasent the pajeros battery way back on the rear shelf? so it would have been made as a wheelie machiene.. unlike the lunchbox with the battery low and centered?
  11. THANKS for the input. i will ask in a normal board section maybe some guy's will be able to answer.
  12. And the funny thing about them take a file to one it's soft **** pot metal is very dry and brittle scrapes right off they stink!!
  13. Love the FAV and your dog is cool also!!!
  14. Hi steelrat have a ? for you with my LB and MP i am running stock ESC and stock motors... do you know about or anybody else how many MPH faster they go with the J Johnson motor and how many MPH faster from that with the sport tuned motor? THANKS Shen
  15. Nice!! i took mine in a ball field the other day (see videos above) it got filled with sand all over!! had to take apart my ESC and RX they both where filled with sand! I sealed my ESC with silicone and i used Tommy tape on the RX to seal it. What's your cover look like? Also if you take your bearings out buy a RPM bearing blaster and use RC electric motor spray to operate it and they will come like new again... I suggest you but corrosion X REELX oil for fishing reels after cleaning your bearings and letting them dry put a few drops of REEL X in the bearings and give them a full light coat of it also with some on your fingers rub it around the bearing... This will stop corrosin for future runs.... also if you know you are going in water you should spray your whole chassis with some wd40 and let it sit for a few hours before you use it and it will make things not rust and make your car much simpeler to clean the dirt off as it won't stick anymore. I use denatured alchole in a spray bottle with like 20% wd40 shake it up because it settles on the bottom and i spray my cars chassis with this makes the wd40 go on thinner than just spraying it directly out off the can.... I do this before i run in wet and after i clean the car i spray again. Hope this helps.
  16. Yes i know my LB does wheelies but just not as easy and as much as stock.
  17. spoke of this in another thread i was warning of use of traxxas pinion gears as they do not mesh correctly and are very loud and slow your car down...robinson racing is the way to go!
  18. You act as if i am the only guy in the world that changed something on a lunchbox type chassis to make it work better?....I see hundreds of posts with guy's doing stuff to them to make them perform better it's personal prefrance you like it your way and others like it moded no sense even asking why it's just how it is. it's fun both ways stock form and moded you don't know and you act like it takes all the lunch box charictor away from driving it but it don't hardly at all it's still loads of FUN!!
  19. To each is own I never seen the lunch box or pumpkin as a purpously made wheely machiene because they would have put the weight more towards the rear in fact the battery sits low and dead center in the chassis...I bet they made the lunch box and just because it's small wheel base when they seen it pulled a wheelie they then added the wheelie bar... I say this because they could have shifted alot of weight towards the rear if there goal was to make this chassis for weelies but it was not that's the goal they had for the wild willy and you can see it in the way it's set up.
  20. Thanks guys. I used tamya and there clear coat and it came out beautifully.
  21. Ok here is my hop ups to improve the drivability of the lunch box.
  22. It still can lift up the front and do a wheelie but not far only a few feet. Why do this? it makes it much easeir to drive and it steers much better at speed and jumps much better also.
  23. NICE!!
  24. Here is mine with it's new lexan body. Also i did a few simple mods that make it work better....I see lots of wheelies in the videos but mine don't do to much of em at all because of the mods i did and it drives a whole lot better...better handeling and steering.... Will get some chassis shots so you guy's can see the mods. And the white body is my hard body i painted.
  25. Rc4wd.com they sell lots of small 1.9 tires if that's the hummer you have.....I have tamiya CC-01 's with 1.9 tires rc4wd sells good tires for them I have the 1.9 mud slingers they work great in mud....but they sell other patterns also.
