  1. I still think it's because the rear is so heavy as you go up a jump the frons suspension won't bottom out against the jump and the rear well it is heavy back there so i think it's bottoming out the suspension slapping into the jump and causing a broncoing effect wich then thrust it into the air off the jump flinging the rear of the bug making it nose dive.... this therey is true with modern day RC if you rear suspension is to soft the rear of the car will slap against the top of the ramp and cause a nose dife jump...... I bet guys who replaced the shocks with ones that have adjustable springs have corrected the scorchers jumping style by playing with the shock springs and oil.
  2. Took the new 2010 holiday buggy out for a test run!!
  3. most all videos i watch of a sand scorcher it always lands off a jump nose down into the ground? Not a good jumper? From looking at mine i am thinking the heavy rear with the big aluminum hanging down probably when hitting a jump the rear slaps into the jump causing the rear to kick up wich causes the nose dive effect on jumping? What do you guy's think about this?
  4. I put zip ties on mine by the gear box and it holds it on better and don't let it rub on the gear box casing. Give it a try
  5. Hi what i did to stocp the clanking shock sound up front is found a thin piece of rubber like a bike tube cut a round circle shape out and punched a hole in the center and then i streatched it over the shocks top screw head now it dampens the clanky sound...probably can use a O ring also but i wanted something thinner so it would not take away from shock down travel to much. Also what gear you using for a pinion gear at first i was using a 32P traxxas and my FAV was loud and not smooth at all then i put the stock tamiya one in and my FAV is like one of the smoothest sounding gear boxes... I know they say go steel with the pinion gear but for the stock motor i don't think it matters...you can go robinson racing I know there steel gears sound smooth.

  18. Well i put the new shocks on the rear and added white lettering to the tires and also added a nice flag on the antenna to boot! .
  19. well it works better than without the rubber o ring in it and only takes a few seconds to do.
  20. Here is a photo of what it shoul;d look like when finished. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?...st&id=12405
  21. Hi if you had stock shocks all you need to do is put two 5mm long cut sections of rc fuel line hose pushed right over the tops of your shock rods that slide through the chassis top and on the rear do the same but with a small rubber O ring on each top shock shaft. Works like a charm.
  22. Hi for the front shocks try what i did to take some of the bounce out. Get a shock rubber o ring or the ones tamiya uses like for the hornet front. clean off the under side of your FAV front shock mount where the shaft slides through the hole now on it's under side place the o ring on the bottom side line o rings hole up with the hole in the metal part... you can stick your shock shaft through and put the o ring on the other side...then pull it back to make the O ring line up and flush with the top...next put some super glue around it while holding the o ring in place . Now do this for both sides now you will have a friction dampend front suspension it helps with the bouncing a little.
  23. She's a beauty!! i was also surprised how well it handeled also i guess the low gravity of the battery in the FAV helps in the corners!! I love mine!!! PS on his arm i used that goop glue his arm ain't never coming off!!
