Hi i have 4 XC's 2 are stock form but with a little rear suspension mod and another mnod to make the front A arms drop a few more MM lower...
I trail mine through the mountain by me here wich has a little of everything and is very ruff... I found that my 2 Xc's with the rear link mods that give you enough flex so you can put a tamiya spray can under a rear wheel while all the other 3 are still on the ground work worse for mountain trailing... they can'y climb hills as good as my stock XC's with only simple minor mods done to them.
The 2 with end links don'r go good up hills that are angled when you are trying to ride on them because of the great amount of flex on the rear it makes the front wheel lift off the surface really high and then you eventually flip.. where as with my other 2 stock ones with minor mods done to them will climb and drive on much greater angles...
You can see how the front5 lifts here in this video.... And you can look at all my videos you will see i run my trucks very hard indeed!

Also those rubber sealed bearings i do have them and i feel using the stock kit bushings is a better way to go... After i got done running my pajero that is in the video above in the woods i got home rinsed it off and dried it with a dryer and found that 2 of the rubber sealed bearings in the C carriers where totally sezed i hade to take them out and pop the seals off and use my bearing blaster to clean them and then i filled them up with grease figuring it will keep a better seal so debries don't enter inside them again.
Here is my stock XC and how i moded it it has just enough flex and workes better in the mountain than the full blown linked ones i have that twist and fit a tamiya spray paint can under them..And the great thing the mod will only cost you a few bucks!
Read how i did it in the pictures discriptions.

THANKS
Where are they located?

O and make sure your radio has fully charged batteries because it's a bummer when they are going dead on you in the middle of your trip!
Learned that last time i went!!
-
Better then nothing there at all!
-
You said it where i drive you need to nose dive alot to desend down rocks to the next level of terrain. :-)
-
Simple because that dont protect the front of your body from scraping the ground or on other rocks on a steep downgrade.
-
Why not take the front bumper off, it gives it even better approach angle?
Because there is no need to do that after this mod it is like you almost have no bumper on anymore it wraps tightly right up against the front of the body.
But you still get protection from the skid under the car from the bumper bottom and protection for the front of the body for when you go down a steep grade... and trust me where i ride in the mountains by me you need that bumper up front or your body would be destroyed in my mountain trails!
Next time i go i am shooting some pic's of where we run them.
-
Anyone have any new pajero wheels or tires?
THANKS

Hi i went up in the mountain trails with my XC's never had any problems at all.
With a 3300 Batt and a lathe motor i went up and over the other side of the mountain so you should get far with all your batts..
I know the XC's tranny is efficent don't know about your trucks..
Just use half the mha in batts and when they die you know it's time to head back with the other half of the batteries.
I have micro fans that i have blowing over my motor and ESC it keeps them cold... If you don't have one on your truck it may get hot and use up the batts faster and you may want to give it some rest time to cool down inbetween batts.
Bring a drink for sure!
some tools wheel wrench screwdiver and maybe CA glue
a marker to mark the dead batteries so you know what ones are dead after using them.
Bring Off bug spray for sure!
I would love to make a video but when i go i travel non sop back and fourth in the mountain and out of it over 3 hours!
Maybe i can just snap some pic's of the trails and stuff next time.
Good luck and have FUN!!
PS. make sure front and rear diffs are locked!!
in my mountain it's so rocky it's a must.

Who cars what it looks like i use mine for mountin rock crawling trailing i go for like 13 miles with my trucks!
The claw dogs are just a little to big and make the truck not have enough power.
Don't want a pic of them on your truck just want to see them next to the stock XC wheels if possible.
THANKS
-
Hi yes but i have the XC wheel adaptors that let you use 2.2 tires it widens the truck a half inch on each side.
Are the tires much bigger than the stock ones?
Could you do a photo shot showing the size difference?
THANKS

Hi Guy's thanks for the complements the mountain where i live is a very sweet place to run the XC's that's for sure!
About the stock XC VS the linked XC i think you misunderstood me I meant that when you do the few littl simple mods that i show in my photos to the stock XC I found it runs better than the full blown Linked mod.
Also about the bearings sure they do not get ******ed when driving through water... It's when you drive through mud puddels with muky water.. what happens is grit and debrees get past the rubber seals and then it causes your bearings to bind.. This happend to me my last time out in the mountain and when i cleand my truck up i found that the bearings where binded in the front carriers so i took them out popped the rubber seal off them and i could see tiny dirt mud like particals inside them and it caused them not to turn and seiz.. i cleaned them out with my RPM bearing blaster then filled them up with grease and poped in the rubber seal.. I figured the grease will make a barrier that will help block the particals from entering the bearing again.
