  1. A timely thread for me.. I have two separate breaches this month - both within 2 weeks of the cards used at TamiyaUSA,, Coincidence?
  2. here is a link to closed auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/Tamiya-Brabham-BT50-BM...id=p3286.c0.m14
  3. I was shocked to be able to get a hold of this body set from JR-RC, does anyone know the story on this re-release, seems like i missed it completely!!. Perhaps this is a show special body only? This is the coolest and hardest to find of the old school bodies, so fantastic news! Rich
  4. Welcome - and good luck with the restorations. There is a load of great resources and advice on the site, but be careful, restoring these cars can get addictive!
  5. Christmas 1986 for me. Tamiya's R/C's were always out of my families budget, but my mum had negotiated a deal with the LHS to pay weekly during the build up to christmas - I'll always remember opening up the hornet christmas morning - what fun building and painting the thing while the rest of the family slept off the christmas excesses! Fantastic memories...
  6. My LHS had a nice range of tinted vinyl tubing in their aircraft section. I picked the blue tint to go with the Rothmans blue theme of the 959.... http://tamiyaclub.com/pictureframe.asp?t=n...004224409_3.jpg Rich
  7. Big Al - now that would be nice I just checked - looks this guy downloaded the image so i cant change the link Rich
  8. Browsing through ebay this week I see a seller is using a photo from my showroom to sell "his" high dollar car. I have complained to eBay, but I'm worried the auction will still run. With the new setup where bidders identities are protected, I cant contact them to warn about a "potential" problem. I'm not saying the seller doesn't have the car - its just they should not be using a photo from my showrroom. I contacted the seller and he told me " hi, yes the pix is not mine but the actual kit and box itself is better than yours. its just that my digital camera is broken and i needed to list list the item a.s.a.p. thks" Am i being out of line to get bent up over this? Should we protect images with water marks if downloaded like the manuals? Any thoughts! Rich<script>
  9. Woohoo - Had mine on order with Tower since Dec 16th.... Shipped last night, can't wait! Rich
  10. Glad they arrived safe Rob, I think you should open them, they are just going to sit and rot in the packs otherwise I think i heard that some of the old QD tires were also compatible with the 959, that may be another route? Rich
  11. Hi, I'm putting together a SuperTen four stroke. I have everything i need - FS26 motor, flywheel, engine mounts and the 2 Speed transmission. One problem though - I cant find a suitable pilot shaft to mount the 2 speed clutch bell onto the motor (its the bigger size crankshaft thread diameter then a regular 2 stroke motor). Can anyone suggest a source for a pilot shaft which works, or if someone has the Four II superten manual can ID the part number for the shaft, I'd be very grateful! Thanks Rich
  12. Well, as there are no models, theres only one thing for you to do - go full size again [] Keeping this thread off topic - 60's (and 80's) are great trucks -I run an early 80 - same engine/tranny as your old 62. You'll feel better getting a LC fix at... www.ih8mud.com Rich
  13. Congrats on the cars. I picked up a new built Hotshot 2 from the same seller - it was perfect... good luck!, Rich
  14. Hi, I'm restoring a Porsche 934, and I believe there is an image of all 934 color schemes on one page in the 1977 catalog (at least i think its the '77). The car I'm looking to finish is going to be in the "Tebernum" colors. I have been having a hard time getting any info on this variant. If anyone can help by scanning this page - i'd be very grateful!. Thanks, Rich
  15. Hello All, I'm working on a 934 restoration, and need some help on finishing the car in the Georg Loos Tebernum color scheme - does anyone have information on the paint and sticker locations? - help very appreciated!, Rich
