I got my MU the other day and can't wait to build it. Of course there are some other projects that are ahead of it in the queue. My question is this. I've noticed that there is some hop up option called a torque splitter. I am not what it is that this thing does outside of shifting the power from one wheel to another. Does anyone have this on their XC (Pajero, Wrangler, MU) rides, if so is this thing really effective? How does this work? thanks again. John

Although you have to admit the WW is nicely done... Looks like someone bit off more than they could chew IMHO. Or tis the holiday season... -
That's truly inspiring....

Wow!!! the very first one that I had was something called a "Max Machine". It used some sort of clicking device to make the left and right forward. I believe that it was click once right, twice left or something like that. I think, I was 8 or 9yrs old when this thing came out. Then came a radio shack Lancia Racer that could go backward/forward left and right. After that the Holiday Buggy. The rest is history. John

Marvin: No one here is trying to slam you for being upset, you certainly have the right to feel that way if sensed that someone had been flaming you. The whole purpose behind this forum is to give members a heads up thats all... Nothing more nothing less... As for the post, I thought that the auction was not in good taste and that I was offended, just as you are now. Again nothing more nothing less... So what do you want me to do Marvin?

Did you lose someone close to you at or a victim WTC, Pentagon or Pennsylvania? Huh? I did. I lost a fraternity brother. This is an open forum and just because I chose to put a list on an overly priced ebay item IMHO, doesn't give you the right to jump in my Sh*t.[!][!][!] You know I am as patriotic as the next person, but I merely expressed my opinion about the auction, nothing more.... 'nuff said

Question about the Mitsubishi Pajero Metaltop
J3cubfan replied to J3cubfan's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
quote:Originally posted by bholioI have the CRV. Mine is not that fast compared to my other cars, and it will tip over if you turn too sharply (take the mirrors off before running). Mine is always in 4WD, no shiftable transmission or anything. There is an optional center-diff/1-way bearing hop up for this series of car which allows the front wheels to spin at a different rate as the rear ones in turns. In a real (1:1) 4WD car, this is a big deal. Not so sure about it's value in an RC car. Lots of these on diff upgrade things on ebay recently. There is also an option to lock the rear differential. If your Mu is used you should check to see if the rear is locked and decide if you need it locked or not. There is an extra part in the kit which you insert in the differential which locks it. It might replace the 3 little triangular gears, or it might just sit on top of them. I don't remember. Some people also glue the diffs My CRV is on of my favorite cars, even though I don't run it much. I'm sure you'll love that Mu. id="quote">id="quote">Hi thanks for the info. This is actually a NIB Mu, that I couldn't pass up. It's the cross country version which is a low rider. I am not too concerned with speed a this juncture. Thanks for the info. Pictures to come soon. -
Question about the Mitsubishi Pajero Metaltop
J3cubfan replied to J3cubfan's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
I am wondering how this will run. I've never owned a 4WD R/C car before. Did in real life but never used it.[] Is this a full time 4WD model? -
I ran into this problem with my King Cab. The front left hand corner was super brittle and cracked while in the painting process. This was what 12 years ago. I ended up putting in some strip stryene to reinforce the crack. Now you know the reason why I do not like Lexan. I think the worse time is whenever I manage to strip a fastener hole. Or more recently, I manage to break off the brass ball joint on my Sand Scorcher. Ouch[] John

Question about the Mitsubishi Pajero Metaltop
J3cubfan replied to J3cubfan's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Well, I did it. I didn't buy the Pajero, but found an Isuzu Mu. It 4WD and am curious as to how this will operate. Hey at least it has a hard plastic body.... -
Let me chime in and vote for the Bear Hawk. My 5year has already grown tried of it and wanted to drive the King cab. I have to agree with him. It has a low ground clearance. Too low for a buggy. The front tires are about as ineffective during high speed turns. Secondly, I'll have to say the Falcon. My god those dog-bones ugh!!!
