  1. I would have to say that my Blitzer Beetle gets ran the most...
  2. When the battery is connect to the speed controller does it get hot? If so, the battery is creating a "short" somewhere. If its not then you might want to try look for resistor that might be faulty.
  3. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=1900&id=211 Here's one of my Blackfoot. More pictures to come. I still have to paint the driver...

Tower Hobbies? Will they fit my low rider wheels? Thanks for answering my questions... id="quote">id="quote">thanks Miramar for the assistance...[] The Low-Rider wheels are TGX (1/8 scale) size, so XC-tires won't fit. You can mount 50839 TGX Rally Block Tires though. They have a more aggressive pattern than any of the XC-tires, but unfortunately their diameter is a little smaller, so you will loose ground clearance. As pointed out already, if you want to use XC-tires, you need a set of touring car wheels (or any of the XC-wheels). The tires for the Pajero are used on more models than any of the other XC-tires, including the still available Blazing Star and XB (RTR) Pajero, and should be available from any decent Tamiya stockist, including Tower. Their part number is 9805481. id="quote">id="quote">

  6. I have the Isuzu Mu Low-Rider version and was wondering what it would take to convert it to the Cross Country version. Anything within the suspension? John
  7. Nice job. I wish that I had seen that earlier. I had a Monster Beetle shell that had two front supports snapped in 1/2. I ended up trashing the shell.
  8. I have a couple dedicated shelf queens. Mainly my brother's old Grasshopper that I restored, a Black foot, a Mu low rider. I have a Blitzer Beetle and Nissan King Cab as a runner. I am in the process of restoring a Sand Scorcher which will be a shelf queen.
  9. What is Polytrol? Is it available here in the states?
  10. Its generally pretty hard wearing. Its floor polish. If you are going to run this through water, dirt and sand, then I really wouldn't recommend it. However, if you are restoring a shelve queen or sunday afternoon driver, then I think your safe. I just posted results on the show room page. J3
  11. I conducted a little experiment on a Monster Beetle Window that was scratched up. I sanded out some of the scratches with with 2000 grit automotive sand paper and proceded to drip the Windshield in Future Floor Acrylic Floor Polish. The Future is fine enough to cover up the micro-sized scratches and could easily pass as a new windshield. When you dipped the windshield, make sure that wick away the excess and place it on an edge on a sheet of paper. Its certainly worth a shot. BTW, in the UK and AUS I think that the product is called Johnson's Klear. You can find this in household cleaner section in a grocery store isle.
  12. I remember seeing these in my hobby shop. They sold for about $300USD and thought that one day, I am going to get one of those. I endded buying a Holiday Buggy instead after a summer of cutting grass. Yes, the SS performance wise is not up to snuff with the newer car. My Blitzer Beetle could run circles around it. For me, it purely nostagia plus the fact that I have always liked the Yellow and Red paint scheme. Its just a magnificent car.
  13. Hi all: I am currious as to whether or not a modern ESC can be installed within the SS radio box. I am mainly concerned with heat that the ESC generates. Can it be done. John
  14. I would expect to see a Tundra rather than a Tacoma[]
  15. The SS has not been reissued and probably will never. You have to be carefull with what you buy. The lower priced ones are probably and wreck and a money pit if you decide to restore one. The higher priced ones are those that are usually in pretty decent shape. As for the black bumpers, correct me anyone if I am wrong, but those are the original SS bumpers. I am thinking probably the 1980 to 1982 production runs. The later bumpers are shared with the Holiday buggy and Sand Rover.
  16. My fav would have the be the 280ZX. I always liked the Bob Sharp racing Z's.
  17. Hey thanks a bunch. I am on my way to the hobbyshop...
  18. I am in the process of rebuilding my Sand Scorcher and have a question about the steering assembly. I am missing and the tie rods and was wondering if there are any other Tamiyas out beside the RR and Ranger that shared the same tie rods. If not then I am going to have to make my own. Which begs another question. How long are the left and right tie rods respectfully? thanks for your help John
  19. Personally, it would be the Holiday Buggy for me. Its the very first Tamiya R/C (make that real RC) that I ever owned. However, I agree with the general concensus here. Get one that you like.[] Although the Holiday Buggy is a splendid car[]
  20. Hey where's the driver's head. quote:Originally posted by bigu2fanmr_lister999: Yes indeed, I spent a LOT of time raking back the sand trap, but it was worth it! I went out to the course late in the afternoon when very few people were playing so I wouldn't get in trouble. This is definitely the funnest place I've run my Scorcher. I just put some more photos up. Have a look: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=6308&id=507 --Will id="quote">id="quote">
  21. the value of the car. I am in the process of painting my Isuzu Mu. I'd like to do it Porsche Boxter yellow, but the instruction give options as red, blue, and silver. What's you take?
  22. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5&category=2565 If its a knock-off whats the difference between the real Holiday buggy and this?[?]
  23. quote:Originally posted by netsmithUKI've got no problem with paying the extra tax - its one of those things you have to live with. Its just in this case the tax was three time more than it needed to be due to the amount entered by the seller on the customs slip. Might try getting it back as coffo suggested. Chris id="quote">id="quote">What is the best way to deal with this problem? No cash value and declare it as a gift?
  24. I wrote a review for this vehicle. The chassis is quite a bit different. In fact the chassis says Tamiya Pajero. See my review for more detailhttp://www.tamiyaclub.com/car_comment.asp?cid=44
