Wild willy vs Sand scorcher tyres
mr_lister999. replied to mr_lister999.'s topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
i had no idea on size since i never actually seen a wild willy in real life. From the photo on ebay they looked like the scorcher size but the writting on the walls was missing. At least i know now. -
no glow plug? Do they use spark plugs like a normal car then?
-
Seeing an auction on ebay recently for some new wild willy tyres i wondered what the difference was because usually people say scorcher tyres as that sells them better. It wasnt until i got hold of a pair of superchamp sponge tyres i looked on the box and noticed the difference. Willys tyres say Sand Tyres Unlimited. Scorcher ones have Padlatrak and 16.50-15 as well. Just wanted to share that one incase any of you didnt know so you can see if they are scorcher or willys tyres. I think it was volksrod68 who bought them. If it was you, Joe, then did you know about that?

Appropriate body for a VERY basic TL01?
mr_lister999. replied to miramar's topic in General discussions
how about a smashed up shell for it. Thats what you normally see on these basic tamiyas. You choice what colour sticky tape you use to mend it though. [] -
what car/buggy does this prop shaft come from?
mr_lister999. replied to mr_lister999.'s topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
wow, a super quick reply. Thanks mate. Are they lighter, stronger or both? I would hope lighter. -
i like that bumper. Dont see what the fuss is about...

This is the shaft that is coming with a top force i just bought. Does anybody know which car/buggy it is meant to go with? The guy says it fits the top force fine as he used it as a mod on the top force. I asked you guys recently if Tamiya did one but you thought not but maybe a picture will help you out. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/trades_model.asp?cid=2832&id=216 (P.S. I will remove this picture from my wanted section when you guys have seen it its just that i can never get a picture to show in these posts. [])

This one sounds dodgy to me. I know people buy these sort of things but what is the point? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...25755&category= If you can really get a tmaxx 2.5 for $80 (thats about £50) then you would not be selling that info would you. You would be buying stacks of them and selling them on Ebay instead. Even used or broken must be worth around £200 each. Bet some mug will buy it though. Has anybody on here ever bought "infomation" like this? Come on, you know you want to share! []

quote:Maybe you should have listed it as a Ford ranger with a Monster Beetle body?id="quote">id="quote">Would not get anywhere near as many viewings. As you should all know by now you dont just buy from a title alone do you! The description is acurate. quote:But if you would ask me I'd never spend £125.00 on a Scorcher (Ranger) like that, it's quitte tatty missing many crucial bits. I guess that's why I am not the buyer... id="quote">id="quote">well, it was free listing day so i put it on at high price so if someone bought it great, if not no loss to me. It is actually good condition, just dirty. Its actually hard to find ones that have no damage to the motor and spur cases. Not even a stress mark. All runs well enough and had the bottom part of the exhaust. I do agree though it was high for a non scorcher body but it was a nice body though. At least it wasnt a blitzer beetle body!

well i sent him a polite mail letting him know i had described it as monster beetle shell painted and modified to look like a scorcher. He mailed me back saying he could not access the auction on his pc? He said it was his fault for not reading the descrition as soon i mailed him a link to that auction so he is not bothered now. Said he would learn from his mistake so thats alright. A note to you buyers: Always read descriptions 1st!!! Even if the Buy it now is tempting!
-
OK guys i would like your opinion on one of my completed auctions. Check out the link below and tell me what you think on the wording. The buyer mailed me and said he is annoyed that i sent him a monster beetle shell when i said it was a scorcher one. I thought carefully about my words saying its a monster beetle shell and never saying it was a scorcher one. Who here reads it to mean its a genuine scorcher? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=3116516454 It just gets to me that i can be that clear and he still says I didnt say. As far as i can see i have been honest describing itEven saying you must ask questions before you bid as once you buy it thats it. I think basically this guy didnt read it properly and has now realised what he bought and wants a refund. A feel a negative feedback coming my way. As far as a buyer goes he was good, a few hours later with paypal and it was all done. I will let you know how it goes.

superchamp etc sponge tyre question
mr_lister999. replied to mr_lister999.'s topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
yeah, those are the ones i mean. I would have said they would have been to flexible as the foams are not glued together just glued onto the wheel. Someone must have some experience with them though. -
Has anybody ever used these on their runner and if how did they perform compared to the rubber tyres? Also, does the tread pattern make any difference? (the box shows 3 setups). What surface are they actually for? I would have thought carpet most likely as thats what people use now but probably made for something else. Any idea would be appreciated.

Anyone interested in an RC registration system?
mr_lister999. replied to netsmithUK's topic in Tamiyaclub News
Suppose it would rely on honesty but somebody would probably cheat. There is always one dishonest person where ever you go (sad but true) You could do it with the limited release cars like that trf car recently that was limited to arounb 300 or something like that. That would work. -

Interesting idea. It might be worth trying, perhaps on one model that is sold frequently like the scorcher since people always buy and sell these things (i know i do) It doesdepend what is replaced and traded but worth a shot i suppose. -

this topic is crazy. Conrad motors make people made. Must be the material they are made of, such strong magnets it warps the mind. -
