If i got someday in my hands a 1/14 , I will put in it my brushless setup(ss5800+7cell). How stupid will that be ..... You dont know me, I ll do it . WE greeks dont know what "limit" is. Also i m waitin a Lunch box , with the same intensions.

have them both. prefer electrics ofcource . the resons are known by now.

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKSW0&P=ML I dont know what cars/trucks you own, but it dosent matter because this esc/motor combo transforms every vehicle into a torque monster. The fun is endless in any application , take the cheapest vehicle and install one of these and observe the results, People say its the equivelant of a 10 or 11 turn brushed. I say NO WAY, baybe the top speed , but torgue and punch = At least 30 % better. There is no substitute for me . in offroad when you see the rocks ejecting from the rear wheels at 10meters and onroad your tires melting with a couple of batts then youll understand whata i mean......

my girlfriend also run once half a pack(in a mighty bull with a 23t) and thats it ,She says that theirs no meaning in what i do, she finds shopping for clothes and cosmetics more intresting. what can i say to that ???? My sister on the other hand enjoied flying an electric trainer that i let her fly. (in high alltitute ofcource so i could prevent a crash)

I have two of them in my TD they get a little hot but they are bulletpruf, as for power....... balistic. Ps : I run them with two lrp F1 esc Any questions ??????

get a df-02 chassis car ,gravel hound or the other(dont remember the name) its not a monster and its not a street car and with a set of proline tires will be cabable off allmost any surface. + proven very durable also.
-
both are the same and interchangable but i wouldnt recomend the metal motor mount. I bought it and never used it. its extremly heavy and its better to use a stock one with a nice and liteweight heatsink. 0.02$

welcome and happy runs + alloy hexes + if you run a couple of batts on pavement or asphalt youl need these http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDU13&P=MLthat grip like crazy and have a little more rubber on them comparing with the little spikes i think your stoker has.

i tried a rear wheel drive conversion in the hound(i just removed the center axle & the front diff & bones) the motor was a bran new Speedgems extreme 17T(put a 20deggree timing on it)and the esc an lrp bullet(no limit). gearing 19/70 the results was unbelievable. these motors have unbelievable punch and top end. (they punished my rear tires with only one batt!!) I cant even imagin a 7X1 in there. but i m ordering one right now. ps I know that i need some new chrome wheels with that sweet body and not painted stocks.

check out www.rcmart.com its a very reliable HongGong shop. i v ordered more than 5 or 6 times without a problem. and they mark your boxes as gifts. so you dont pay customs(i live in greece). once my order was in a box 70cmX80cmX70 , 8kg and worth 650 bux and i didnt pay custom taxes. -
maybe your motor is in a wrong position for the specific pinion size. check your manual again.
-
get this http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLGG0&P=ML its very thick(0,060) and will fit preety nice i think. if you take care of it , will last you for ever. search in tower with key word "body" . they have milions of bodys and with specs and dimensions.

What would you recomend for my father in law?

Althow i own a hound, my vote goes to either humvee or f-150,both very beautiful trucks and great scale looking. or you can go with something with more ofroad capabilities like monsters tamiya has the truck for all the bagets. twin det , super clod , or TXT-1 (generally lexan is more durable because it bends) try This http://www.towerhobbies.com/listings/cat-cat-c.html but i think a DET with a good esc and two 17t motors will do the trick.Very durable truck and tons of stuf that you can put in it. (generally lexan is more durable because it bends) -
i would start from the smallest pinion you have and work my way up. but dont know what sizes you have. I m waiting for an lrp bullet this week and i ll try it first with an tamiya 11t and the 16t pinion(lowest i have) and see how that goes. I think it ll be ok but with yours i dont know. And their is an othe matter. their 4 ways to drop your gear ratio. 1st you can drop pinion size. 2nd you can inc spur size. 3d both the above 4th you can put smaller diameter wheels. Solution 4th is out of the question in our case(the ride is too short as it is. 3d is out because 2second is out.(i dont know if the make larger than 70T so , leaves as with 1st. smaler pinion. I noticed in my hound that with the stock motor mount. if you put a 16T pinion the motor is accually touches the chassis. so with a smaller pinion where the motor is going to go ? I might have to dremel the chassis and the center axle with it. these for now. Maybe i m all wrong and the 7T wont get warm at all. please post your details specify motor , esc ,gearing and temps if you run it before than me. sorry for the long post and my eng.

try the alluminum shocks and harder springs. also http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDU13&P=MLwill increce the ride height and traction i also have alloy hexes and the wheels nevers come off. i have a concern about the 7T motor. I think it will need lower gearing than the 16/70 that the hound will go. post your results from your firt run. i think they are going to be very intresting. the fastest motor i v put in my hound is the ss5800. But i thing a good 7T will be faster . Let us know. ps an alloy motor mount and a motor heat sink might be nececery.
-
I was one of the first to get the df-02 when released and the only part that had broken is the chassis in the gearbox-a-arm area due to crashing in a concrete wall with 50km. 8 bux damage. i drive all my vehicles until they brake, and i have to say that i went home with the gravel unharmed most of the times. Sure is better all around ,than the older tamiyas
-
Well i dont race that hound , i just want it to go faster than with the ss5800 that i used to run it.(mesured 65KM with 7cell and 4WD) I Know i m crazy but propably a lot of us in here are. what is the lowest turn brushed motor that a gravel hound with 16/70 gearing can handle, and not be too badly overgeared. If nececery i ll remove the FWD .
-
pics woould help because i dint understand very well. but i ll give it a try . to charge a batt with deans female ,you have to have a deans male with wires to go to the output of your charger. the crocodile clips that you mention in propably the input for the 12v dc from your 1:1car or your 12v dc power suply. hope that helps. pics we will be more helpfull though.
