  1. Yes, I also have that hovercraft. Good fun, and usefull in school science projects... []
  2. Very nice truck Stefan! The tapes also give it a nice touch, as if it's a very old truck, falling apart. [8D]
  3. quote:Originally posted by DJTheoAs far as I heard from our dutch members, dutch shops are more on the expensive side, the amount I have saved from deals from TC and wordwide shops listed here is more then 10 times higher per year then the subscription fee, but of course its your decision. Cheers id="quote">id="quote">Being Dutch, I can certainly confirm this. I buy most things from abroad, except paint cans as I want the immediately. The main reasons are cost savings, and also beign able to get products that are unavaliable or very hard to get here in Holland. [] Our importer does seem to provide proper service, but the prices are often a lot higher than in, for example, Germany. Now that the we Dutch and the German share currency, it becomes easier visible we are being ripped off, one of few advantages of the Euro so far. []
  4. Wow, this is quite an old thred. I don't think I will need the body anymore now, I could use some decals perhaps though. As for the 6-wheeler, soon I'll have that one sorted as well. []
  5. I never knew Tamiya actaully made chrome rims specificly for the Wild Dagger? Since you are concerned being 100% Tamiya, are you sure these are 'genuine' Tamiya items? Maybe you can post a link to a picture of these wheels, so someone could tell for sure. []
  6. For my new built Porsche 959, I'm still in need of the following parts. Preferabely new - otherwise very good condition. 1 drive shaft (SA12) 1 rear spring holder (E10) 1 rear spring (SA14) 2 inner bumper posts (A3) 1 battery holder (C3) 1 front body mount stay (the FRP part) I can pay with Paypal.
  7. I have fitted a 9x1 turn motor to my TB Evo with the biggest spur included in the bx (88t I believe?) and the smallest pinion that fit, but it still seems a little overgeared. Is there any aftermarkte spur gear I could fit to my car? [?]
  8. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMESE%3AIT&rd=1 Ok, my first attempt at an eBay listing, I hope it's any good. If you need a Datsun 280ZX body, take a look... I will put up more Racing Master stuff in the near future. []
  9. You need a quite big BBQ now, as I would like to join 'the enemy camp' too. I'm in great favor fo the re-releases. It's acutally quite special this is happening... I can't think of any other company that re-releases old stuff in virtually unchanged shape, 15 to 25 years after the origional release! [:0] As a matter of fact, I don't think Tamiya is put in a position in which they can 'act' right to everyone's opinion - because if they wouldn't do a re-release, wwe would 'accuse' them as not willing to listen to the collector/hobbyists demands... I often hear people complain Tamiya never listens to us, but I believe the oppposite is true - just don;t ask them to do investments that aren't profitable. [] It's sure good to be one side with Darryn for a change, I feel a lot safer now! []
  10. I think I still have my list of cars and classifications for them... I think it had the first 125 or so cars in it. The cars are sorted in catagories, that can be sorted per era, or per F1 / Touring / Buggy etc. I rememebr it was very handy and offered good overview. If anyone is interrested in this as a base to create another list, or to use it as a whole, I can send it to you. (If I find it...) []
  11. Please check out my trades, lots of (NIP) stuff added. I will add even more stuff shortly. [] http://www.tamiyaclub.com/trades.asp?id=220
  12. It's always great to make someone's day, especially with something as simple as a Tamiya car. [8D] Even the parking attendants that kick me off the roof of the parking lot sometimes smile and let me make a few more laps. Not always that lucky though, there's also the bitter ones - though nowadays I try to avoid the camera, worked so far... []
  13. Ask my parents where my name came from - I don't have a clue. [] S, J and D happend to be my innitials, and they return in my first name, so that is why they are often written as capitals. []
  14. thesuper, I'm interrested in the CVA shock housings and springs - is there anything you liek for return? Cheers. []
  15. You should be able to get a suitable 0.6M pinion in your LHS, I advise you to get a steel one opposed to an aluminium one while you're at it. Good luck! []
  16. quote:Originally posted by tamiya_89Sjoerd did you went to the rc show from the tamiya importeur today? They were selling loads of body's fot nothing. I bought 2 body's a blue painted acura type R and a Skyline R32 with stickers but no wing and mirrors. The body's both are tamiya and the total cost me a shocking 23 including a set of trf decals. I think they sold arounf 100 body's today all for 10 euro ecl stkers and parts. Even the TGX the 1/8 scale body's went for 10 euro. So you guys mist the bargains LOL ans i got them[] id="quote">id="quote">I got my share of that, don't you worry about it. []
  17. Yes, the problem is the same in the Netherlands, an average Tamiya shell costs about 50 euro's(!), but a HPI one still costs around 33 euro... If you look in the right places, you can get shells from other brands (including decals) for 25 euro. Bottom line is, there is nothing you can do about the high prices here... [V] That said, you CAN avoid them... When you shop around in Hong Kong or Japan eBay stores, you will find Tamiya bodies for $25, you will pay some postage, but when you order some extra parts with it that you need anyway, the cost is very justifyable. Also the relatively low dollar adds favorability. [8D]
  18. quote:Originally posted by tamartinThat guess is totally wrong!!! Tamiya built their cars exactly like the real ones. And The Blazer is comming from this one!! http://desertdust.homestead.com/52_Bob_Gorden_p3.html Bye id="quote">id="quote">I doubt that would be Tamiya's only inspiration, some free artisitc license is used as well. I doubt their inspiration has come from this single, specific car alone. Maybe less likely, but I don't think it's unimagineable that Tamiya even looked at the paint schemes of Bronco's for their inspiration, as they have similar body lines - nobody really knows for sure. []
  19. I say you should do whatever you like best yourself. Selling and buying something you like more is also on option. The March project seems like a very nice idea though, go for it! [8D]
  20. Yes, I have also been stung for custom duty from the uSA once - first time... Now I have a large order from Tower Hobbies in the States, which is now taking awkwardly long to arrive... I fear the worst. [8)] Never got stung buying from the Far East though, but I only did that once so far...
  21. As long as you use don't the low and middle speed constantly, you should be fine. Those MSC can actually take quite some use (and abuse). []
  22. Why not get a TB-02 or the new TA-05 instead? [8D]
  23. I also just got a very nice 959 runner, also including a new body shell, and a incomplete new built chassis... There indeed seem to be many around these days? [?] Who cares, they are great, and I wanted a shelfqueen to use as a light runner. Now I have both - so I consider myself lucky at that point. [8D] BTW, if anyone has a rear spring for a 959 for sale, (1 or 2) please contact me. []
  24. "You shouldn't leave your cars everywhere around the house all the time." I don't have a wife nor a girlfriend, and even I get that line all the time... [8)] I have my bedroom pretty much deticated to my RC cars now, shelves full of cars everywhere, and still not even everything fits in... [:I]
  25. There seems to be only one way to get rid of an addiction... Get another one. []
