Paul I couldnt tell you why the finish is different on those parts but I do know that the Super Champ is actualy an S.R.B. Infact I think that Tamiya should go back and un-call the RR and SS an SRB and just call them RB (Racing Buggies). I think the term SRB should have been saved for the Supar Champ alone-
(tongue in cheek) -
The Super Champ is definately a 'Special Racing Buggy'. The Super Champ is not a Rough Rider or a Sand Scorcher but it definately is an SRB. Think what you like but I think Shodog and Incredible_serious nailed it. Its just another release of the SRB family of chassis .Sure the first 2 incarnations pretty much resembled one another aside from the body sets but the chassis are too similar between the four to deny it. Hello guys,Ive just moved down from the Gold Coast to Green Point on the Central Coast. Im looking to see who's around the Sydney metro and Central Coast that would like to get together for some vintage running.Cheers-Jason.
-
Ok so the vintage 2 hour enduro has been and gone.It was excellent to meet Ant,Bullfrog,Willy Chang,Incredible_serious,Retro R/C,Killroy there and a few others. For those who couldnt make it (i cant work out why-I flew down from the Gold Coast while Darryn drove from Canberra) you missed an action packed day of fun. It was awesome marshalling and watching all the old girls go around.Heaps of fun! WC even had his Egress out with a video camera mounted taking footage of the action (Good on you buddy).By the way,Im the guy in the red T-Shirt next to Incredible_serious (long haired guy)-ha! See I told you I'd get a picture up on the net of you.

Alex you were ripped off plain and simple budy. Its a load of **** that people think they can sell stuff on ebay and think the buyer is liable for the listing and payment transaction fees. Where does it stop I ask you? If you sell something in the local trading post do you tell the buyer he/she is responsible for the advertising fees when they pay for the item? As for delivery van and driver to the P.O.-what the?? I dont charge people for my time or fuel let alone recycled packaging when I post something. It seems more and more people are 'ABUSING' the system,we've all been stung and it really stinks. I guess it shows what kind of person you are realy dealing with. Mate I'll be happy to pay you for my parts Im chasing but not any of those extra immaginary costs though-he he.

was chatting with a pal & both wondering what HUGE % of Hotshots would be painted boxart red... HOW BORING

but to be honest, there probably isn't enough lexan acreage there to do a
decent custom job with paint so best is still a 1-colour sprayjob... with CUSTOM DECALS!
different colours:-
... nuttin' too wild, illiterati & the colourblind will still think its "boxart"
-- A -- B -- C -- D (x'mas!) --

Silver!
side pod triangles & everything else normally white are now in silver
-- E -- F -- G --

Drift Hotshot! hahaha
for the *real* riceboy look, can't go past 'em!
-- H -- I -- J --

Printed on super-thin premium german vinyl, goes on like a dream & sits better than originals.
Haven't got the invoiced by the printers yet so unsure what cost is, probably around $20ish each I'd forecast.
Will be ready to ship this week, can accept orders now.
Hello WC,mate I have just started building up my re re Hot Shot nad these decals look great! Mate I would love a set of the original type. Can you let me know when you have them in? I will look to get another re re in the near future and I wanted to make the new one blue and white. Not sure which decal sheet you have there will suite it best.

G'day guys,it looks like Ive finaly gotten myself onto this thread and I am looking to join in on a vintage fun day which doesnt seem to happen too much around here.My first question goes out to 'CORPSE THROWER',mate how did you come up with that name? I have seen it round a bit and I imagined it was because you were in the army perhaps? Just interested thats all. As for Incredible_serious? Well I already have worked worked that one out-he he. But 'seriously' Im going to be coming down to Melbourne at some point later this year so I'd love to have a run with some fellow TC members.

Hi guys,
Im curious to see if anyone drives the BRAT upgrade buggies.I already own one but it would be good to see what other people think of them.I have run mine at 2 vintage buggy meets and the picture I have attached above is at the first meet. The car drives extremely well for its age, very neutraly balanced both in the air and in cornering. It could go a little faster and Im working on that before the next meet.I have been running a 12 single and 12 tooth pinion but might go down to a 10 double with the same gearing.

Hello guys,Ive been a member of T/C for a couple of years now but never thought to look up this forum. Darryn (retro r/c) was shocked at this and has recommended I stop in and post up some pics of the vintage race meet in Ryde. Well yes I was there and I got word of this meet about 6 months prior and NOTHING was going to stop me from making this meet! And what a great meet it was! This weekend would be the first time I would meet Antony, Darryn and Scott of whom I'd been in contact with over the net and phone for a while. I certainly was not dissappointed with any of the guys there and the club was very welcoming to us interstate enthusiasts. Racing was to be on Sunday but Ant and myself had always planned on being there the Saturday for practise. I gave both Darryn and Scott a call to let them know we'd be there but only Darryn could make it late in the afternoon. What can I say,we may not have had a great track layout for practise as the track has so many multi layout formations but we had a ball just running all our runners back to back with our chargers working overtime on all our batteries. Ant was running his highly modded Frog,Ultima,Optima,HotShot,Topcat,Nikko Brat,501X and a few others. Darryn ran his ZXR, Viper and Samurai while I ran my Topcat, Nikko Brat, Bosscat works and my 501X buggies. Needless to say we drove that track well into dark with only a single park light shining onto the track. The track was BEAUTIFUL and the commitee had just finished the groom as we turned up. In the end the cold drove us to leave and we had to put our cars to rest for the following day.
Day 2 saw Ant and myself leaving my Inlaws place (on the central coast) early. At the end of the highway we were greated by some very unfortunate weather. We drove the rest of the way in the rain and I remember thinking of how crazy it was for both me and Ant to have driven so far (im from the Gold Coast and Ant's from Melbourne) only to have it rain on the big day. We turned up at the track and there was a big cue of cars waiting at the gates of the park and people standing around as the rain fell around them. POO! Things werent looking good. I got out of the car and made my way up to the track to find it was full of puddles. I wast going to let this spoil my day and before I knew it people were driving through the gates and setting up around the track. At this point I was glad to know that this day would go ahead regardless of the weather. To our luck the rain stopped and didnt really return the whole day and after the track had been broomed off people were on the track practising already. The first being Darryn with his Wild Willy. I wish I could report on how people did with there vintage cars but things were so hectic, Darryn and myself ran 3 classes while Ant pushed for 4. It became almost impossible to keep on top of charging and marshaling duties let alone preping the cars for there net run. The mud made it even more fun. In the first few rounds every car came off the track looking a state and we just werent prepared well enough for this factor. It has to be said that you just wouldnt normaly race in conditions like this but when you've come so far it was too late to worry about the mud. As the day marched on one race seemed to merge into another and I even managed to slip a half charged pack into my Topcat for the finals. DOH! It didnt matter because I had a ball anyways and the day was a big success for the vintage scene. That weekend certainly forged some great friendships with endless laughs, jokes and taunts. I was guilty of screaming out on the side of the track all kinds of madness. The boys loved every minute of it with Ant and Darryn adding to the moment with there 80's manufactures slogans like "1/10th HIGH PERFORMANCE OFF ROAD RACER" and my favourite "THE MOST WINNINGEST 4WD" and so on. It has to be said that I had the best weekend and I was exhausted by the Sunday night with sensory overload. Soo many brilliantly well presented and driven vintage buggies. Its not a race meet I'll forget and look forward to the next one. To those who couldnt make it, we'll be sure to keep you posted on anything organised for the future and I personaly hope to see you next time.

Im also a fan of the Super Shot now thanks to my good buddy Mark (MAD RACER). I currently own 2 of these cars and recently sold another. There's just something super sexy about them. They also drive well for such an old design.
