  1. Not answering your question specifically, but I have ran many 2s packs through an original evx in the early style e-maxx. Each side didn’t have a problem with the 8.4, I’m relatively sure a 6 cell nimh battery fresh off the charger will be closer to the 8.4 than 7.2. I have a few clods with evx2’s and they have no problem running a single 3s on the bec side, and jumpered on the other as your describe. I am curious the one in your picture is from a villain, I don’t know if the calibration is the same as fwd/brake/rev, I’m not sure if not having the heatsinks will cause you a problem either.
  2. around 250, bunch are projects, maybe 50 or so are a batt pack away from running, some won't ever get ran. I keep telling myself I am going to start redoing 1 a week and get some of these finished, but never do. These were taken a few months back, theres maybe 20 that arent in the pics.
  3. I kind of go in phases, but I'd say the lunchbox sees the most use of all of them.
  4. I had several tyco/nikko type cars, but my first hobby quality kit was a futaba fx-10, which I still have, in about a hundred pieces. I'll get it back together one of these days. Followed by a kyosho raider, then my first tamiya kit, toyota hilux monster racer.
  5. You may want to double check that. At the current prices after you pay tax on buying it, and ebay listing fees, you will be about breaking even. I just let one go about 2 months ago nib for $125, the last couple nib og pumpkins I've seen go on the bay sold for $115, and $127. Of course there are a few people still wanting around $300 for them, but I think if you will search the completed auctions, you will find them unsold. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
  6. Here is a pic of mine, it is dupli color 'metal specs' copper orange. I looked and looked for it around here and none of the parts stores had it that carry duplicolor, so I ended up paying $10 for a can of in off ebay. My buddys truck is the same colors only the real deal and it looks pretty close. I am kind of making it a model of his, I cleared it with regular automotive clear in an airbrush.
  7. if that rx-7 comes out looking anything like the pic, put me down for one!
  8. wow, somebodies have some nice looking bodies. I am going to have to pick up one of the trans am ones, and I wish they had some pics of the 240z fitted. As far as bodies I would like to see, how about a datsun 510
  9. I have noticed the same thing, I am pretty sure I have spotted an audi quatro rally kit box in the background before. I know some things that Jamie has built for tv are radio controlled, the 7-up shooting soda machine with the tank tracks, and an a 2 wheeled nike shoe that I think was nitro powered, for commercials.
  10. I got pretty lucky this year too, there is a high lift waiting for me on christmas day. My wife won't even let me get it out of the box from tower hobbies though, at least you got to open and look at yours!
  11. I would never be able to actually put a pack in it and make it move, I'd just turn off the lights power it up, and look at it. Amazing work.
  12. Thanks for the reply, that is the same way I feel. I know I have let things go before at a bargain, be it because I wanted something else more, or needed the cash quickly. It is hard for me to judge the worth something else has to someone. I have always gotten a quick response when I have emailed a seller, but I honestly feel like a lot of time I am wasting their time because it is probably going to be more than I am looking to spend, but you never know until you ask.
  13. Sorry if I should have put this somewhere else, please feel free to move it. I have been a lurker of the board for quite a while, just joined a few days ago. I have a decent little stash of cars I have collected over the past few years, so I have a good idea of a models worth. Something kind of really bugs me though about this board, nothing ever listed in the classifieds has prices. I always hate offering others money for their stuff, as you never know what type of person you may be dealing with. Most other boards I am a member of you must list a price on something to list it in the classified sections. I can understand something you really don't want to part with, but keeping options open if someone was to want it more than you. It just seems 90% of the stuff for sale on here says "make offer", and that seems kind of strange to me. Sorry for the rant! I have spent hours on here watching the movies and looking through showrooms. This is a great site and it keeps me motivated in the hobby.
  14. I've seen indoor bar stool racing footage with car starter powered barstools, they looked like they hauled. It would sure take one heck of a suspension to hold it up on an r/c
