  1. If you're not crawling then you obviously haven't drunk enough
  2. lol, I wonder what the people at Brasso would make of this thread? Nice bit of international advertising for them, maybe we should ask them to sponsor the 1st annual Tamiyaclub pub crawl! Gary.
  3. Nice job Chris. What software do you use? Gary.
  4. ooh, shiny! Those are some pretty darn cool wheels. I couldn't even guess how much they'll make, but they sure look expensive. Gary.
  5. Nice find Chris. I can sense a blue and white paintjob in its near future... or do you have something else in mind? Gary.

    Panda?

Yes, Panda made some buggies. I remember a Grasshopper type thing, called the Cyclone I think. I don't think yours is one of those, but I'm sure someone here will recognise it. Gary
  7. TA01 / TA02 cars use 0.6 module gears. Blackfoot uses 32 d.p. (diametrical pitch) gears. Don't know if that helps. Gary
  8. That looks like it was dropped from a great height.
  9. Once a car is built, I'm not really bothered about the box. I wouldn't chuck it out, but I wouldn't go out of my way to find one. Maybe I'd be more interested if they didn't take up so much space. gary
  10. It's not what I would have done, but I don't have a problem with it. It's nicely finished and has obviously had a bit of time and effort put into it. Better that than have it dumped in someones attic until it gets chucked out in a spring cleaning.
  11. lol, Tamiya reached the limit of good taste with the Clodbuster, then they just kept on going and made the Bullhead.
  12. Wow, the builder of that thing reached the limit of good taste and just kept on going.
  13. That's good news, have fun with it Gary
  14. Cheers TamiyaRacer I think if I bought the shell I would want the proper chassis. The FF01 is it? £25 UK is still a fair bit more than $20 US, so it doesn't seem like a great bargain. Maybe I'll just hang on and see if a chassis turns up first. Anyone in the Uk got a used rolling chassis they want to get shut of? Gary. Edited by - retro on 19 Sep 2002 11:51:37
  15. I'm going to be a bit controversial here and suggest Red/White. Seems like a good comprimise. Gary
  16. Somehow I just knew this would turn into a 'Willy' thread. Since we've already gone way beyond the bounds of good taste, I might as well add this observation: Clearly, thre are three types of enthusiast here: 1. Those who think their Willy's belong in a box. 2. Those who like to look at their Willy's but are afraid to use them. 3. Those who will happily play with their Willy's in the street.
  17. LOL If anyone ever needed proof that we are all a bunch of childish idiots, then this thread is it. Yeah, dropping your nuts or breaking an upright used to cause much hilarity when I was younger (obviously I'm much more mature now). I always thought Tamiya would have sold more Tamtechs in the UK if they hadn't called the batteries 'Tampacks'
  18. Build it! Otherwise what is the point? if you leave it in bits, you might as well just have the box. You could always chuck in a handful of rocks for that authentic weight and sound. Gary
  19. Hi all, A friend of mine thinks he has a NIB Mondeo body stashed in his loft, but doesn't have the car anymore. he wants £25 for it - is it worth that much? If I did buy it, how much is a used rolling chassis likely to set me back, and are they easy enough to find? Gary.
  20. Hi Michael There's a post about how to submit manuals in the 'Hints and Tips' section of the forum. That should tell you everything you need to know. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=26 Gary.
  21. Yeah, I thought 0.6 sounded a bit small. I still think it'll be a 32 DP pinion you want. ModelsportUK in Yorkshire http://www.modelsportuk.com/ sell them - part no RW3200 As i said, your car will take 13-17 tooth pinions. Bigger is faster but less acceleration and usually shorter run times. Gary
  22. I quite like that you have to cut out the bodies and decals yourself. It gives you a good sense of satisfaction when you do a nice job. Plus, it means that if you spend a bit of time and effort, you are rewarded with a nicer looking model than someone who just slapped their kit together in an hour. It would be nice to see kits ballraced as standard. Parts just wear out so fast with crappy bearings. I guiess the problem is that they're expensive and you don't see them once the kit is built, which makes them an obvious target for cost-cutting. Gary
  23. Hi Jeff, There's a post about how to submit manuals in the 'Hints and Tips' section of the forum. That should tell you everything you need to know. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=26 Gary. Edited by - retro on 15 Sep 2002 03:29:20
  24. I remember seeing a Clodbuster and a few other r/c's on 'Scrap Heap' They chucked 'em in the scrapyard so the teams could strip them for radio gear. I bet they got binned afterward too ;-( I also have a vague recollection of a thinly disguised Monster Beetle on 'The Crystal Maze' It didn't use the Beetle body though, and it went dead slow, presumably so the driver couldn't trash it. One more, not a Tamiya, but worth a mention. On 'Red Dwarf' s shape shifting alien turned into one of those kiddie 'My First RC' type cars and buzzed across the floor of the spaceship. Gary
  25. Hehe, the 'Coke Bottle' Cortina. I remember it. That 70's Taunus is a coupe though. I've never seen one before, maybe we didn't get Cortina Coupes over here. Gary.
