Interesting discussion,great input mud4fun,How does the dynatech 01/02 compare to the technigold and dynarun?

Hi, I'd like to use my tb-01 rally bodyshell on a tb-02r chassis will it fit ok?Do they do a long arm/shaft rally hop-up for the tb-02r?Is there any other differences in the rally special tb-02's to normal tb-02/tb-02r,thanks

thanks mud4fun,saw your video,good stuff!!The avante i have hasn't been used much so i think the bearings will be ok.Like you said the steering is very quick and doesn't seem like it needs the bearings although i probably will do them.Whats the crack with these diffs?one way etc??thanks for the help.

Was just thinking to myself,how much would my avante 2001 have been new?I'm sure my manta ray was about £100 in 1991,can anyone remember?Also what was the price of the egress?

Hi , I have a avante 2001 and have added hi-cap dampers,as you guys are some serious racers what would you reccommend as worthwhile upgrades as ideal2k reckons the carbon decks not make any noticable difference,i've been told to get a ballrace kit but according to the manual it already has them except for the steering??I'll be getting a top-force when it's re-released so it will be interesting to see how they compare but for me the avante will always be no 1.

Managaed to get a set of hi-cap dampers,now when looking through my manual the only hop-up to ball bearings is for the steering where the BT1 metal bearing can be upgraded the 850 ball bearings which doesn't seem that necessary,all the other ones are ball bearings,could you tell me max which ones you think i should replace.I'm thinking of going for the dyna run motor 13t motor like mud4fun,do you think this is ok and do i need a motor mount and spur/pinion gear?thanks

Hi max, Do you find that the wheels seem a little loose/steering very sensitive on the avante 2001?Which is the best the mini or short hi-cap dampers? Also lost my battery stay part n1,do you know if any other part will fit?

Is there any of the re-released dyna storm's hanging about?if so how much etc,thanks.

Is a re-release of the avante coming as the pictures seem to indicate,if it is then i'll be buying a few!please tamiya!

Hi guys, Having recently achieved a childhood dream of owning a avante(ok it's the 2001 not the real one!) i was wondering what are good hop-up's to make.The car is in absolutly standard trim with the original sport-tuned motor.What tamiya motor would be a good upgrade and what else would i need to do,bear in mind that i'm a novice although i've had cars for over 17 years.

Does it matter what pinion you use?what is the difference?

Guys,i see on the hop-up lists there are the pinion gear listed 16-21t does this have to match up with the motor?sorry if this sounds dumb!

yeah thats what i meant is there not a option/hop-up with road tyres(rubber)?

I'd like to keep the car to genuine hop-ups,strangly in my ta01 celica manual it quotes the manta ray stainless steel prop shaft set in the hop-ups?

Just wondering what are worthwhile hop-ups on a ta01/manta ray when using a better motor,they instructions quote bearings,ball diffs,universal shafts.Would you agree?

Having taken the servo's/radio gear out of my manta ray a number of years ago i also took the plastic parts out which were connected to the servo's. ie c8,c9,c3,c7 and ball joint(bb2) and cannot find where i put them,also c10 from the speed control servo.Any ideas where i could get these.I see there is a servo saver kit?
