  1. Hi everyone, Just wondering how common parts are for the orginal Pajero offroader from around 1984? There's one on e-bay I have a passing interest in - it needs work and a lot of it - but I think it'd be cool. Is it a similar chassis to the XC chassis? Is it indeed the XC? Aaron
  2. Yeah it's the CC version in Gold. I had the number both on my paper statement on on the online thingo... No worries at all..
  3. ohhhh good call Willy Actually I've heard the words Metho and Turps thrown around a lot. Might try a little soak of both and see
  4. My AMEX is this funny goldy colour if it makes any difference Yeah there's too many stories about PayPal for them to be called faultless but i suspect they also have got no more(or less) complaints that any other fiscal institutions. As for names - I have a friend who is frontline customer Service for an ISP - he doesn't use his real name 9-5 becuase of the hassles it can cause I think it also means that when people see him in the street and they say "Hi X" he straight away knows if they're a customer or someone else
  5. I have two Paypal accoutns - one linked to my AMEX, and the other linked to my M/C in both cases electronic banking let me get the numebrs within 36 hours pretty much... (in Australia) Haven't had any troubles with PayPal themselves although know a few people who've hit the support brick wall. I suspect their takeover by E-bay will improve things a lot!
  6. Agreed Bits and Mini-Z are much simpler. However about the hours to sell one item, well I reckon it's only fair to say that from a PR point of view you have to do it - no matter what the cost. Burning customers just doesn't work - for some reason they tell their friends etc etc That was my point though - I was dealing in simple stuff, and still it was hard work. The guys at my LHS have nothing but my admiration As for TamiyaClub.com.... My recommendation is that the site gets rejigged to display some banner ads, non-intrusive ofcourse. Avoid pop over/unders. Then sign up with a banner program, you won't make squat from them but you'll have ads that peopel will get used. Then get some targetted people to buy displays or blocks of display time. Speaking from experience, donations work for a one-off, subscriptions don't work at all and advertising barely works. You really need to be prepared to throw your own money away on ventures like this Aaron (throwing a lot away on www.ausmicro.com)
  7. As some of you know I was/am still involved with the online selling of Micro/Mini R/C parts. I can tell you that the experience has only made me appreciate the guys at my preferred almost Local Hobby Shop more. The fact that this shop typically has 5 guys working in it all day everyday tells me they can make good money, sell to newbis and old hands and all that and the prices are fair for the level of service. I found it extremely difficult to balance my own operations time input to money input, ie some sales that woudl create a gross profit of AU$4 would take two to 3 hours of 'customer service' to achieve. Then again there's always quick sales... the balance was that there's a huge effort involved in selling/supporting R/C that simply meant that doing it 'on the side' to a real paying job wasn't viable. Instead I've returned my focus to helping an on-line sales business sell the same stuff I was, and supporting the community they sell to. In return they support the costs of running the site (which is why I was selling in the first place). Aaron www.ausmicro.com (1.5 million hits last month and still growing!)
  8. Yeah - think laterally - you need to adapt a cheap commercially available technology to the purpose. The key issue is triggering and event when a car goes over the line, and then getting that event into a PC. There's a few options for that available right now
  9. What no Clio Sport owners? Oh hang on I'm one - I'm driving a 2002 Renault Clio Sport... for those on the US side of the globe think really small car with 172hp
  10. Another one is CEN (www.cenracing.com) I have one of their GX1-EP cars - top quality unit and great chassis design but sadly the prepainted body bites! --- Casual user and abuser of a Genuine M-Chassis Mini, CEN GX1-EP, Bit Char-G, RadiCan, Mini-Z and 1:1 Clio Sport
  11. Yeah actually that's what I've done with my M-01 Mini - added a set of 65mm sedan wheels. They clear fine and should give it the top speed that I'm looking for (to take out my friends Modified Stadium Blitzer). If that doesn't work the GM V4-R is going in and a nice hot motor --- Casual user and abuser of a Genuine M-Chassis Mini, CEN GX1-EP, Bit Char-G, RadiCan, Mini-Z and 1:1 Clio Sport
  12. Taking the R/C hobby down a scale or two from the 1/10 mainsteam to the new fads of Mini-Z, Tin Cars, Big Char-G Digi-Q etc etc www.ausmicro.com --- Casual user and abuser of a Genuine M-Chassis Mini, CEN GX1-EP, Bit Char-G, RadiCan, Mini-Z and 1:1 Clio Sport
