Agreed Bits and Mini-Z are much simpler. However about the hours to sell one item, well I reckon it's only fair to say that from a PR point of view you have to do it - no matter what the cost.
Burning customers just doesn't work - for some reason they tell their friends etc etc
That was my point though - I was dealing in simple stuff, and still it was hard work. The guys at my LHS have nothing but my admiration
As for TamiyaClub.com.... My recommendation is that the site gets rejigged to display some banner ads, non-intrusive ofcourse. Avoid pop over/unders. Then sign up with a banner program, you won't make squat from them but you'll have ads that peopel will get used. Then get some targetted people to buy displays or blocks of display time.
Speaking from experience, donations work for a one-off, subscriptions don't work at all and advertising barely works. You really need to be prepared to throw your own money away on ventures like this
