  1. Some websites allow you to choose/change the currency that's charged; you workout yourself which # is more beneficial to you. Paypal can also source funds from a bank account, doesn't need to ba a creditcard necessarily. But afaik the payee usually gets charged same fee whether you pay with funds already in PP a/c, or drawn from your Bank a/c or from your CC. (Pretty sure PP forces you to use up all funds in PP a/c first before drawing externally.)
  2. oh wow, are you that far away from the big smoke? Pretty sure the old fellas are still drifting regularly somewhere in Perth, they used to be near Stanbridges at Mt Lawley but today I find out Stanbridges has gone online store only. how sad!!
  3. that would've been my 2nd guess Bit like the crabs in Cristmas Island then? Except to squish those you'll wreck your tyres too. There's talk currently to divert all Wuhan virus sufferers to Chrismas Island for isolation/treatment. Then they started talking about sending all China arrivals there for quarantine... knowing Chinese appetite for all seafood, those CI crabs might soon be extinct! Now there's talk of Australia also closing borders to entry by Chinese nationals after the weekend. Singapore already did so yesterday, none allowed in even as transit passengers through airport. Unprecedented action afaik. On the plus side... wuhan virus seems to have wiped out all the HK protests?
  4. Full amt of VAT plus handling fees. When paying with PayPal usually the payee gets dinged for PP fees; you only pay the billed Amt - just like when you buy using CC at a high street shop. Even if you have funds in your a/c that you use to send to a payee registered for business, PayPal will still charge PP fees afaik. Some private individual a/cs might get exempted but that was long time ago. Alternately if sending to a known friend or family as Gift you can choose to elect to pay the PP fee on top of your pmt amt, so your payee gets the full put amt.
  5. Bit hard to trace your plumbing routes. I assume the tank's sump feeds to carb; the exhaust pressure goes somewhere above fuel level? (I also like to route feed line as short as possible. Pressure line can be a little longer to smooth out pulses.) Can't remember what those 2 plungers are for... does 1 prime, the other plug the line to cutoff? Either way I hate primers, don't need they & they're constant cause of air leaks. Prime engine by plugging the exhaust tip with your finger then crank the engine. Should be enough pressure & vacuum to feed fuel to the carb if there's no air leaks.
  6. crikey, how big are your frogs there?! Are they as dangerous as wombats? If we run into a wombat, they're a pretty solid 30kg lump of muscle... it's possible to rip out your whole front suspension and cripple your car in the middle of nowhere.
  7. phew, I’m not the only one then. Like the 1150s where the Metal shields have little notches on the outer edge... those are 1980s and get used in Avante & Bruiser. After 1990 the Egress & Mountaineer get blue rubber sealed Tamiya bearings Modern T kits with ball bearings & T’s factory genuine bearing sets are pretty plain generic steel shields which don’t have any easily identifiable markings... afaik, any advice? Haven’t seen blue rubber shields for long time now, last remember from TA03 & M03 era. Sad panda.
  8. Haha nice progress, have fun! ps what's towing capacity on your scooter? Downunder...
  9. Dunno about the tyres but the 2WD front wheels have a shallower dish, might have clearance issues behind.
  10. I predict you'll be hankering for portals before too long...
  11. maaaaate... you've caught the mutated strain of T.snobby vulgaris You'll be wanting to go fetch your newfound 934 RSR in your RangeRover
  12. O wait... contents arrived safe? with Box lid unsealed to the bottom? Have received a few of those, both from stores & private sales... but they've taped lid to bottom. So it's all covered in taping tape crud. Some just texta address on. Best one was where packer bothered unstapling the box lid, flipped it over and reassembled inside out - pretty ingenious. Actually no, even better - somebody sent me a TA04S Chassis Kit (which comes in a T carry case) and he's unfolded & refolded inside out too. Neat. Then again, when RC4WD sent my TF2 all they did was to shrinkwrap in clear heatshrink and stuck mailing labels on that. Arrived ok without too much box damage but jeez all 6 kitbox panels are printed full colour spruiking what's inside. Can't complain... I think we're oddities in wanting to receive pristine kit boxes. Most others just see it as useless packaging for next week's recycling collection. Main headache is when I send something, I want to send it how I would like to receive it... yeah often handmake custom double boxes etc, securing insides properly so fragile bits don't get crushed by other bits etc. It takes a long time! And once I tried to replicate StellaModels packaging (fill up all voids inside kit, bubblewrap that kitbox, cut 6 sheets of 10mm styrofoam to cover bubblewrapped kitbox, put that in an outer double walled corro box custom fitted to exact size of styrofoamed kitbox. Glue shut all the flaps of box with hotglue. Cut and apply edge protectors. Finally use clear packing tape to cover every inch of cardboard.) then apply shipping labels. That took me 2 hours!!
  13. Pffft! As if. More like Amazon AU made big hoohaa when they arrived 2ish yrs ago, but when I went on searching for stuff discovered they barely had 1/10th of what I could find on Amazon US. Might as well just keep using Amazon US or fleaBay or go direct to each store. Stop buying cheap junk, ppls! It all ends up in landfill, what a waste of finite resources.
  14. T.virus is highly addictive and once infected, yes it can bleed your wallet dry. It takes heavy toll on the body. Your brain might get addled from all the T.paint and T.glue fumes. Your nails go black from staining by T.molygrease and your eyes grow blackbags from all those late nights spent researching the interwebs or building in nocturnal solitary peacefulness. Society used to frown on weirdos outside norm, but now in today's age of acceptance for LBGTXYZRC we aren't such social pariahs anymore. Intervention attempts by loved ones is futile... & ironic as they are often the provider of the initial gift of T.kit! There will be times when other life's distractions may relegate T.virus to go dormant... but it'll flare back raging at your next moment of weakness. Often triggered by global seasonal events such as "Nuremberg" and "Shizouka" Afflicted individuals can still continue function in society by practising "moderation" (no idea whuzzat?). Others survive by keeping their wallets at home when going out to visit LHS (uhoh ApplePay). Or bringing your wife along to the LHS (oh shoot, now *she* starts stocking up on paintbrushes & crafting tools). Or riding a bicycle to the LHS (well, that sorta worked until somebody invented cargo bikes). Some might use reasoning "I've got more T.kits & T.parts than the LHS!"; the smarter sufferers go open an LHS... to spread the disease to others - Zombie logic. There is no cure for T.virus except death. Live Long and Persevere!
  15. Hmm... website inventory feels like its decently savvy, could well be real time with their POS. C.GH has 7 units, C.Hornet ($225) 3 left. Postage $17 std, $53 express to vic.
  16. Thanks, but Falc please go ahead - already got far more than enough (or rather No Space/Time/¥¥¥ for any more). $150 is pretty sharp, LHS down here quoting 20% off to $183. Perhaps distributor is overstocked on them and wants to clear space for C.Avante. (Oz RRP for C.GH seems stuck on $229, whereas C.Hornet & C.Frog are $249.) C.Hornet down 20% to $199; hmm yay they've received C.Frog shipment this week - boo no 20% off.
  17. Some cars use TGR bodyposts, some use TA05 bodyposts... there's about half a bodypost's width (3mm?) difference between the 2 types in his far they sit proud of the shocktower they bolt to
  18. That's a shame alright... their stock lineup is pretty good. Is everything on their website actually in inventory? Maybe be somebody local should offer to takeover!!
  19. Looks awkward having shock tower spaced back like that, was it really necessary? Think the TA05 bodyposts sprue gave spacers for adjusting fore/aft location. Used them a lot when trying to standardise bodypost between TBeIIISE, TBeIV & TBe5 so I could share bodies between everyone.
  20. Whole of China is on hiatus due to Lunar New Year (last Saturday)... people traditionally don't go back to work for 5/7/15 days after New Year. But this year Novel CV has seen transport networks suspended, govt is ordering shutdown of factories (Elon just said Shanghai plant is shuttered) and schools even as far away as Shanghai. No trucking, no planes flying. Unprecedented!
  21. Oh, I admire the TRX4 a lot, drool at them every time at LHS for past 3yrs Just wish Sport kit wasn't missing the good fruit & adding the extras didn't cost so much more than RTR kit. RTRs just don't give me warm&fuzzies like looking at something I've assembled myself... even though them factory painters do a much better job than me. Nuremberg didn't give us another cc02 huh. Oh well.
  22. Meh, you haven't been married long enough then. Far as I'm concerned, mine voluntarily chose to live with RCs. We drove a pair of Mountaineers up the aisle, conveying our ringBEARers. If she didn't choose to run by then, I'm assuming full consent! I've since decided... yeah I should copy an art gallery design. I'd like a big blank wall, maybe 10-15m wide by 5m high. Hidden racking supports which can either mount shelves or hang everything free form. I'd display anywhere from 1 to 30 cars. Ooh and a couch to sit on & appreciate the display. And BEHIND that wall... 10,000sqft warehouse compactus shelving against all the walls without Windows, workbenches & warehouse racking in the middle. Separated Mudroom on the side with bathroom, laundry & washing facilities. Gotta have somewhere to clean those runners & quarantine new arrivals before I get around to processing them. Heck why not make it 20,000sqft and have a roller door so I can drive 1:1s in too. Oh add a bed too. Because by then... wife might come to her senses... if ever she gives ultimatum "you love me or you love those cars more..." hmmm...
  23. Yep red is Colt aka Ofna https://picclick.co.uk/Ultra-Rare-Ofna-Colt-Mini-Nitro-Os-Max-202136711929.html Wouldn't say its ultra rare... well maybe rare, but also zilch demand afaik. At one stage nobody wanted the HPIs at giveaway prices and the clones were even less. Genuine NRS4 mini could be bought as a full fruit SS kit, plus a ton of other hopups available. Stick a crazy engine like OS 18CVRR or a 1hp NovaRossi in it and they're crazy pocket rockets... tiny wheels like that ain't meant to spin so fast!
  24. Those £35 R parts come as pair or full set? Jeebus! Thought I saw someone last year try to sell the portal parts from G6-01TR kit for around 140squid. Otherwise buying a TR kit and trying to resell kit for price of nonTR kit might be only way to get them reasonably priced.
