id=quote>id=quote>- all images need to be protected from web crawlers etc, and people looking to pull them all off in one go to try and make a quick buck via ebay
Give us a monotone graphic or just text and we can easily watermark the whole page... all the scans for our private use anyway, it shouldn't spoil their usefulness.
Maybe put a link to its contributor so if anyone is desperate for a hires original, maybe they can ask the contributor direct. Saves some bandwidth...?

Why? What for?
You can open as many windows or separate sessions (NOT the same thing) of IE as you like, but that's still not as good as having 2 PCs.
Whereas I can actually *work* and forum seamlessly at the same time!!
Ya, work...Other PC runs OS/2.
Not too bad, at least its not 2.0, its Warp.

id=quote>id=quote>Think I'll try the auto pipe bender, not sure if it will bend the pipe through over 180 degrees tight enough though.
Check your local arts-n-craft shops, fellas. Last time I browsed in 1 they had a mini pipe-bending kit, I think that had formers of about 1cm diameter... but its pretty light duty stuff though.
-
No, no news unfortunately.
I wish they'd bring out just hardshell bodysets... wouldn't that be cool?? Spare bodysets to use on your latest TA04 kit..!

Haha, diagram or not - working on tiny SMT double-layer double-sided Cyclone is a nightmare.
Nah, nothing too fixable there...If anyone is actually as interested in electronics as RC, there are many "kits" available for RC ESCs. Most of them are pretty good too! I've got a couple of XENON9 ESCs which are an Ozzie design from the late 1980s. Ok, they aren't as small as the current lot, but they do the job. No computer, 1-button setup or anything fancy, obviously.
They used to be cheaper than brandnames so it actually paid to DIY, but these days you can get entry-level stuff for same $. However the kits are fully-fixable if you bust it, uses all commonly availble parts and is very satisfying if you've built it yourself.
As for their motor limit - dunno. It can be built with different number of FETs (FETs were about $20 each when new) and I've got one built with 3 fwd & 1 brake - this one is more than adequate to run stock motors. The max-house one with 6 fwd & 3 brake FETs I've run with various TechniXXXXxs etc and mild mods and it doesn't even warm up.
Check local electronics hobbyist magazines - they're a common project, as common as trainset speed controls. It'll teach you a lot about signal processing too!

Hmm... wondering if brake fluid is same as "hydraulic oil" as used in excavators, backhoes, cranes etc etc - y'know, the real big yellow 1:1 Tonka toys.
btw:- Brake fluid does not change colour to show its 'used'. I've bought several brands etc, and usually the 'normal duty' stuff is green or blue, and the 'heavy duty' stuff is yellow.
Good idea, but limited in application anyway -- there just isn't enough room for the fluid to circulate in your car's system. You can only see the fluid in the reservior, but the bit that you want to rely on is the few ounces near each brake cylinder. This portion gets exposed to brake heat and starts boiling first, so you don't want much water in there or else the pedal goes spongy.

So true, but even if you know from good old car mechanics you dont stand a chance with new electronics and plastic covered (hidden) modern engines...
id=quote>id=quote>
"Mechanics" at the new-car dealerships don't know how to FIX anything these days. All they know is how to plug your car into their diagnostic computer and then replace entire suspect assemblies.
It *might* only be a little blown 10c transistor or maybe just a dry joint, but they'll sell you an entire $1500 engine computer to 'fix' it. And charge you "Labour" too.
Sigh...

Just two quick matters:-
1, again - THANK YOU Roby, and
2, hey wow, I'm FREE!! (like the Genie said in Disney's Aladdin)
(Hmm... should I uninstall that popup-stopper yet?)
-
How about whack on another 'tab' after "User Rides" for each car?
Then have a menu under there - for when you get reviews from different magazines on the same car.
-
Actually, why are you guys using *pipe*? Doesn't K&N have solid brass or aluminium sticks on the hobby shop rack? Weight wouldn't be too much of a drama here.

My lovely wife came fully housetrained and well behaved, thank you very much.

I find no attraction at all with the feral bushpigs commonly found on the Ozzie streets.
What with all the "multiculturalism", bah, they're all mongrels anyway - I prefer purebreds!! -
B-parts is on pg22 of Boomerang 58055 manual,
or pg26 of SuperSabre 58066 manual.
On HotshotII 58062, the sprue is actually not featured.
The lever arms on HS2 are now D1 & D2 on a different sprue.
-
Spent over an hour staring at a bashed-up (1) Hotshot with broken front shockmount and (2) a SuperSabre with a HS-HP suspension front, trying to work how to get both going.
"Ya" methinks to try put the HP susp on the HS... but the bottom front arms are different.
Ok, then thinks "lets return the Sabre to stock anyway"... so went looking for the little lever extensions for the front monoshock. Its listed on the Boomerang & SuperSabre on the B-parts sprue, #10 & 11.
But on all my spare B-sprues, they're JUST NOT THERE!??!

Can anyone shed any light??
Did they lose them it for HotShot2 or the Thundershot?
B-sprue contains 4x wheelmount triangles, the rear bumper/overriders, supposedly the front bumper and some other useless bits. B10 & B11 aren't just cut off my sprues, but completely not molded in - the break in the sprue is very neatly done.

Baseball bat??

Looks like a good catch!
Great on the double-tap of the trigger too... rebidded within 25 secs.

I think ShoutBox is hosted externally...
I too have tried it several times over last 2 weeks, only found it 'active' once. Guess there's not enough guys here to create critical mass quite yet.

quote:they probably won't mind if you quote the magazine name and the author of the piece. Probably best to drop the company a mail asking 1st though.
id=quote>id=quote>
I'd suggest we scan them in straight off the original page; like newspaper clippings on your 'fridge door. The magazine's name and author would all remain there in print.

RCCA only started up in 1986, I think... so it *just* scrapes in the 15 year mark (if that's what we want). There are several more UK magazines that were active since the 1970s.
Haven't had much luck getting backissues from RCCA, anything older than 2-3 yrs is usually out of stock. Guess they shouldn't mind much if we post them online, they won't be able to prove they'll lose revenue or stuff like that. We might even be giving them free publicity.

Thanks TR, the link and $99 is for the big RC one but we were looking for the mini 1/32 version...

Interesting idea, Jim - was thinking how to get mandrels of that size too. Pipecleaners are too soft.
I take it you guys are trying to remake the lower part of the exhaust, the maze bit. Anyone had a go at the trumpet upper part?

id=quote>id=quote>The tires ... are for the audi quatro and willy's wheeler.
Actually the Wheeler has a different (unique) size & "Advan" treadpattern.
The ones you show are the "Michelin" which the Quattro and Opel used. I tried fitting them to Willy wheels and no luck, too far off. But they look like a good fit to the white SS wheels.
Downunder we're used to seeing old stock of some yellowtagged brand that fits the SS/Frog/Hornet wheels front & rear. Treadpattern is totally different of course (3-rib & spikes on front, V-ribs & spikes on rear) but at least they fit - better than nothing.

Let's have some Press Car Reviews!!

Ya, of course!!
RCCA also had a lot of hopup projects for Boomerang/Hotshot; complete re-chassis with aluminium was pretty common in the 1980s.
