  1. I don't remember the measurements offhand, but you can use other shocks of the same length. The cool thing about using the Tamiya shocks is that they come with all of the proper mounting hardware, so installing them is probably slightly easier. As for steering, I'm thinking about getting one of the upgrade kits that can be found on Ebay. I'd post a link, but I don't think that's allowed. :)

  2. I know this sort of thing has been brought up before, but I'm going to be a little more specific this time. Speculation is ok, but hopefully someone with actual experience can chime in. Which would be better in a Clod: 2 Sport Tuned or 2 HPI Saturn 20 turn motors? I know the HPI motors should technically be faster, but this isn't always the case. My Clod is almost ready and I don't plan to run silver cans for long! :)

    Thanks!

P.S. I have a Super Rooster which can handle either.

  3. Wish I had not sold:

Blackfoot Xtreme - It was slow, but it had "cool factor". :)

Sand Viper - It lacked ground clearance and I couldn't control it, but I'd like to have made a baja bug out of it.

Wild Dagger - It had become spares for the Blackfoot Xtreme.

Traxxas Stampede - My first "real" r/c with a plastic motor mount that annoyed me quite a bit. :(

  4. What I did, was take a Chevy S10 (TA-01.5 as I call them), swing the rear arms 180, so they angle forward, and this ends up with a 238mm WB, just right for a S/S body. One 4WD bug, hence the 4motion badge on the back (that you can't see  ).

If you really want buggy width, put Mantaray, Dirt Thrasher etc arms on a TA-02. (Mine, with TG-10 long axles in the back and Hummer front hubs on TA-02 arms came to around 200 mm, close to the original).

    Man, that looks sharp!
