  1. Thanks guys! I'm guessing it is related to the transmission plate alignment since I had a similar issue with transmission alignment earlier for different reasons. Guess I need to partially disassemble the transmission for the fourth time. All part of the "fun" right? LOL
  2. I'm currently building up my Monster Beetle and I just installed the CRP #1606 suspension bushing and arm covers. I noticed when I installed the arms that the fit is very tight and it takes quite a bit of effort to move the arms throughout the entire suspension travel with the shocks removed. Granted I haven't applied any grease because I generally avoid greasing most external part to avoid dirt and/or grit paste build up. Is there something I'm missing?
  3. I don't know why, but to me this is one of the most interesting Tamiya models to be released in a while basic as it is. Tamiya USA website now has the MSRP listed at $260 so should be well below $200 if that's correct.
  4. Hi All, I've been away from this site for 4 - 5 years but the Monster Beetle Re-release drew me back in like a disease (a good one if there is such a thing). The Monster Beetle was one of if not my favorite Tamiya car for the longest time, performance be damned! After I saw this message thread I read through it 1 to 1.5 times so far trying to collect all the information I can. I have an original Blackfoot, the chassis that needs some TLC and the body is missing several parts and almost cut in half so I've decided to convert it to a Monster Beetle since I always liked that better than the Blackfoot anyways. So far I've collected all the replacement stock chassis parts and the body, I also currently have the following hop ups: CRP 1606 rear arm support CRP 1622 shock mounts CRP 1624 front tower support CRP 1627 rear body mount supports Adjustable motor mount plate from eBay I do plan on buying an MIP Diff for this thing soon too but I was wondering if things like alloy uprights or alloy front arms for sale on eBay right now are worth the money to improve long term reliability since they seem to commonly wear out or break on the Blackfoot/Monster Beetle chassis. Also, is there any other upgrades I might look into. I plan on running this thing regularly, but not too hard (no big jumps, rock crawling or submerging it in water) if that makes any difference.
  5. Well thanks for all the information guys. I went to look at the tank and it looked pretty good aside from the fact that it's unpainted so I picked it up. The tank is about 90% complete, and if anything the original owner used too little instead of too much glue during assembly. All the original parts appear to be there including the complete decal sheet, original resistor style speedo and all the empty parts sprues and packaging. I absolutely love this tank, but unfortunately I don't have the time, skills, or courage to give this classic armor the proper respect it deserves so I think it will be up for sale again soon.
  6. It's pretty easy for me even with a busy school and work schedule. I just make sure my fiancee is pre-occupied or out of the house and I am able to spend an hour or two here and there cleaning and building. We do not have any kids yet so that makes things easier for now.
  7. I am not a big fan of shelf queens, I believe most R/C cars should be built and run. I am going to make a couple of Super Champ runners so there is a good chance that these parts will end up for sale in the near future unless I hear they are significantly stronger and more reliable than stock parts for easy running.
  8. Hi- I am considering buying a Gepard 56003 that is for sale locally and was wondering what a reasonable value is. It is 90% complete, unpainted, and includes the box, manual, and all inserts. Everything looks to be in great shape. Normally I search Ebay and the forums for guidance but the Gepard is rare as hen's teeth. Thanks your assistance!
  9. Thanks for the information. I wonder if anyone has experience in using these parts on a light runner or if I should just clean them up and leave them on a shelfer.
  10. Hi all It has been a while since I have been on Tamiyaclub because of my limited time due to my university and work schedule. I just bought a Super Champ on Ebay (I know I payed too much for it.) Assuming it arrives in one piece I should have enough parts to build 2.5 Super Champs (minus bodies) not even including the aftermarket parts. I am debating whether or not I am going to keep the aftermarket parts or sell them but I have a few questions that hopefully someone can answer. 1) Who makes the parts in the pictures? 2) How durable are the parts for a light runner on dirt and sand? 3) If I were to sell the parts how much are they worth? (The arms, A-arms, ball races, etc.) I know they are worth whatever someone is willing to pay, but I am looking more for a ballpark figure so I do not price them too high or give them away. Hopefully my attached pictures show up. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  11. You have a nice looking King Tiger Porsche turret tank you have there. Mine is fairly complete and in surprisingly good condition for it's age and is fairly complete except for some small detail parts. I will take some pics soon. Bluefoot is right, these things are addictive I already want a full option Tiger I
  12. Thank you very much For the manual Now I can figure out how to mount the servo for the strobelight option and see which part trees I need to restore this beast. I also understand long days. I work two jobs attend university full time.
  13. Still looking for an .pdf or other electronic version of this manual. I contacted member Bluefoot several days ago who said he had a copy to email me and have not heard from him since. Anyone out there that can help me locate this manual?
  14. I did check their website and unfortunately the only tank manual available for download is the Gepard manual. Thanks for the suggestion though.
  15. Pardon me if this isn't the correct forum to post this in, but I desperately need a copy (preferably an electronic copy) of the manual for the Tamiya King Tiger 56004. I have searched all over Tamiyaclub and the internet and so far I have only found an exploded diagram on Tamiyausa which is not of much use. Thanks for any help.
