  1. I am sure they are usually fine, this just may be bad luck thats its happened to me on my first order with them, there is no excuse for bad comms though.
  2. Ordered a Grasshopper, bearings, spare rear wheel assemblies and a set of hornet spikes. The Kit, spare wheels and bearings arrived but on the invoice it said the tyres were on back order despite on the website it said good stock. I emailed them about this earlier in the week but have heard nothing since. I know there is a chance of them running out of the tyres in the time it took to process my order but there was no indication of if or when i might recieve my tyres or get my money back. I should of oredered from fusion as they do the 10%discount for us members. I did think modelsport did the same discount but they said they do a pricematch, when i emailed about the tyres i mentioned that with the 10%discount fusion would charge me about a fiver cheaper on the GH kit. Like i said before, no reply. I think this is pretty slack, that was my first and last purchase from modelsport which is their loss really as in my 1st year back in the hobby i spent about £2000 give or take. Nathan
  3. Nice one! These type of occurances are getting rarer and rarer, nearly everyone knows about ebay and it only takes a minute to value something you have by searching a completed listing or watching an item.
  4. I agree, Don't cash it, that would be wrong. Nothing looks better on the shelf than a nice shiney Clod, afterall they are rubbish to run standard and as it was free you can afford to shelf it.
  5. Check the title of this forum, THE OUTSIDE WORLD. That means anything goes as long as its inkeeping with TC rules. Please check the facts before making silly posts. I dont think i would let my kids on a site where it was predominantly used by adults anyway.
  6. Nicely put Steve, Lets just not forget where all the chemical weapons came from, Britain and the US! We helped fund his war against Iran. I'm sure if Robert Mugaby's country had oil or something worth money we would be over there 'saving the people'. I do agree with Chris though this as a place to get away from all that rubbish and concentrate on our toys but as the debate was there thought i would come wading in windmill stylee []
  7. Yes Saddam was a tyrant who was no doubt evil beyond belief but this is all a smokescreen to make everyone forget that they could not get Osama Bin Laden. They could of finished him the 1st time but there was no real financial or political gain to be had so they used him to fall back on to smooth over their failings in Afghanistan. The British and US governments are probably guilty of more deaths than Saddam ever was its just they cover it up better. Its a shame people can't see the bigger picture and know when they are being duped into some political spin.
  8. Thanks chaps i had a great morning. Still need more runners though.
  9. Technigold would break the rules mate as its a 23 turn i think besides the brushes don't last five mins.
  10. Oh BTW, after seeing how much fun the Grasshopper Mrbiccies had was Stu and i thought it might be a good idea to have some GH racing with some easygoing rules. Hop-up the suspension as much as you want, 19t or perhaps 27t motor limit (27 would be best i think) and either GH tyres or Hornet spikes on the rear depending on where we are racing. Whaddayathink? Could be some cheap fun?
  11. Ditto the raining bit, but i don't mind a bit of drissle. Won't have any nitro stuff to run Chris if that affects whether to bring your MT2 or not? The carpark is great for nitro's though. I will have the flying bogey and my XC. I will give Niknak a shout to see if he is up for it. Should be some nice trialling to be had, just right for you lucky Hi-lift owners[] I forgot all about that map, looks like my 6 year old boy drew it [:$]
  12. I'm up for giving my Super fighter G a good thrashing if you are up for it. Will be a bit poo though just me, thee and Nikki? What about a few hours trialling and bashing @ the warren in Ashford? That way i would have more suitable runners to use as the xc was no good at the beach.
  13. If there is the chance of a free scorcher that you could restore, go for it. Parts on Ebay are plentiful and can bought quite cheap sometimes. For the shelf just buy a blitzer beetle body which you can still buy new and at fraction of the price. You could do it over a long period of time to save mass expenditure then perhaps present it back to the family member who gave it you or just stick it your shelf and enjoy it? There is no downside to a free scorcher as far as i can see and its always viable to restore one within reason
  14. Great days bashing was had by all who turned up today but where the bleedin ell was the rest of the crew?? Who plans on coming on this sundays KB on tour 2 chapter 2? More people than todays 5 are needed for sure. Come on get ya packs charged and lets see all that nice shiney new xmas stuff you got []
  15. Also forgot to mention that my crawler is already setup with a 2 channel system through a 'Y' lead and i was just looking at the 3 channel TX as another option so hopefully now its just a case of slipping this servo reverser inline and bobs your uncle, fannies your aunt etc etc...
  16. Thanks those who answered. I think i will go Terry's route as this is the easiest way and probably the cheapest. I didn't know such a thing exsisted as a servo reverser. I have decided this route as although i have the Megatech TX already (aquired in a joblot trade) i have no other 40meg radiogear or xtals. @ Anthony, Its a megatech 3PM if that means anything to you. I agree with you about the manual, its just a load of gobbledegook with loads of settings i would never use or know how to having just used your basic 2 channel set-up all these years. Looks like its a trip to modelworld in Maidstone shortly. Thamnks Terry you have literally saved me a whole load of money where i would of had to buy a new reciever and Xtals. Have a nice new year[H]
  17. Well it all looks a bit grim for me, Savage has a broken steering servo, LST2's body is as ravaged and battered as your average carcrash fatality. The toerags got gearbox issues, the crawler is not ready and i cant find the diff resto pack for the Kingcab so that leaves me with a Madbull with no wheels, Great! Will still be there though looking jealous of all your runners and taking pics mostly.
  18. Hope everyone had a good xmas! Basically i have a 3 channel futaba megatech transmitter and would like to know if there is any way of linking 2 of the channels but with one reversed to run 4ws on my crawler? Don't think i have seen it before on a pistolgrip TX. Any help or advice greatly appreciated, cheers peeps!
  19. I'd say go for the LB as you obviously have a soft spot for the way they look but if you don't like wheelies then forget it as thats what LB's do best. Get a LB do some minor mods to it like an ESC (electronic speed controller) and some sort of mild motor and you should have a whale of a time, small tip though stay off tarmac with the LB as the COG (centre of gravity) is too high and when you add the extra grip of tarmac then the body will take a right battering when it grip rolls all the time. Oh yeah don't mess about with the nylon bearings you get in the kit, ditch em and fully ballrace it for much smoother running and longer runtimes. Have fun mate!
  20. LB's are pretty solid but so are BF extremes, the only weakpoint would be the final drive being dog bones and cups where the LB has a gearbox, axles and driveshafts all as one unit sealed which is bulletproof but means you lose the independant rear suspension dogbones and cups give you. You say the other 2 trucks mentioned look too speedy and are too competition based, this is not the case ar all. All trucks which are mentioned here in this thread are capable of being very fast and handling really well but not on a competiton level. If you put any of the trucks aforementioned up against something like a RC10T B4 on an off-road track the Tamiya would need hundreds spent on it for it to not even be lapped, not counting on drivers abilities, conditions etc etc. Tamiya make some quite competitive touring car chassis but anyone wishing to compete in an open class would not choose the Tamiya. Tamiya's are mostly about fun which is why i love them, they make some lovely scale bodies and there really isn't anything quite as good really. The 2 trucks you say would be too speedy certainly would not be if you left them stock ie the standard 540 silvercan motor. They go well enough but anything with a stock motor in will just be good enough for some practise at a managable speed with some good battery life.
  21. Yes mate i tried them, they do the most types out of everyone i did try but they just seem to be out of stock of it at the moment, thats where i got the alu tubing. They do brass tubing too. In the threaded bar there was just one length of M5 and that was about as straight as your average blue oyster punter (see police academy 1 for ref) lol.
  22. By 'mountings' i mean body mounts. The LB being a van mounts through the side and the MP being a pick-up mounts in a different way. Its the only difference you could spot between the two with the body off
  23. [:$] Sorry Mike right you were, BF extreme is only 2wd. DOH!
