  1. Hello. I have two falcons, one for running like a dog and one that is currently awaiting to be put back together as new. Now I have a few cars but don't know all there is to know about set ups and problems if you do the wrong thing. On the new falcon I wanted to use a super stock motor, type RR I have (new), ball race the car and use a ESC of some sort. I want it to 'look nice', hence the new parts, but when I use it I want it to be smooth and fast. Am I wanting to much? Is this just crazy talk, please advise! Cheers.

    Spirit 600

Hi. I have an old Spirit 600 540 motor and it needs a little help. The brushes are worn out. Would someone know what, if at all, can be used to replace them. Thanks!
  3. Thanks for the reply. I'm sure think fitted the correct part. I have a fighter buggy RX and didn't get this problem. That one is using a Acoms as16 servo, the mad fighter as12 servo. Could this be a factor? Would it be that, unlucky though it might be, that I just had a duff part? Maybe just get a new bit...? Cheers![]
  4. Hello. I have a mad fighter and the problem I have is with the servo for the front wheels. When at full speed turning it slips so the wheels get stuck in one direction. I have done the screw up as far as it will go but still the same problem. Should I use some sort of glue to hold in place?[?] This is a new kit and has had no run time so a pain it is. Get a new part for the servo? It has the correct screw in place! Help...
  5. Striker...No! Monster Beetle, Hot Shot and or Big wig. Got to love those colours...
  6. I know. I have asked if she would like to have her own car. A look that only a lady can give came my way. I'll take that as a no then...But it's strange that the thought of re-building a Falcon and having those cars that didn't come my way via the mum and dad in the old days now move me in such a way that frankly is odd, yet good. But going back to re-issues. I do remember some time ago on e-bay classic toys like transformers being re-issued. Just before that time the old toys were selling for a high price. Then they sent out the old ones again. The price crashed. It helped put this toy back in the main stream again, and talk on the TV was that it would be a big hit at Christmas. I loved the trasformers as a kid, and made my own children love them (as I have Tamiya!). But it is after what counts. Optimus Prime a firm fav with the kids now? When the re-issues have gone, what then? Will we have a new generation taking up the hobby, or will they just get on with the PS2 or Gamecube? I believe more will have got the bug, most maybe in their 30's, but as I said when I started this crazy talk, re-issues are better for all that like things 1/10 in scale.
  7. Hello! After a break of 20 years I have got back into this great hobby. My misses thinks I've gone mad, but I'm hooked again. After look through the web, and e-bay in particular, I have seen some old cars like the hot shot sell for unbelievable amounts of cash. I have also seen over priced frogs now not selling due to the re-res. I remember looking at the cars in Hamleys, longing to have a Big Wig, Fox but never getting those prized beast! I did get a Falcon, which is still running, and now have an almost compleat new Falcon, re-Grasshopper and, after paying for food and everything else intend to get most re-issues. I do believe that the old cars now out again will make the hobby much more accessable in that I and others like me will be out spreading the word to the slack jawed masses. I would never pay £500 - £600 to get what I once had/wanted due to having to pay for the main things in life, so what Mr.Tamiya has done is, in my book at least be very welcome. More interest will be generated in tamiya if I can order a Frog, Hot Shot or what ever is out next for an acceptable price rather than asking myself, 'shall I pay the phone bill, gas and electric, or buy that car I never got as a child.' Well, if I want to keep she who must be obeyed happy and have light and heat, then I will just have to wait till those models roll into the shops. Great site, great hobby![]
