  1. Allright. I'm a little dumb. How do you upload an image?
  2. A got myself a very cool AYK charger. It was the high tech thing in the late 80's. I know it can peak charge, timer charge, discharge, test motors, etc etc. The only thing is that it has a whole bunch of swiches on the front panel and you get the different functions by setting the swiches in a particular combination. I have no instructions for it but it has the the attached diagram at the back. I'd like to know what are those switch set-ups for. Its in japanese so If you can help please let me know what it says! 3. Thanks A LOT this is very informative. So if I understand well what you are saying is that I could build a battery pack of 8 rechargable AA batteries (standard rechargables? can I fast charge these?) and run them using a regular ESC that can take that voltage. Is that right? Looks pretty easy to me!. The thing is that I have all the parts to build the truck ( I got a lot of Tamiya parts by buying part of the inventory of a closed store). I also have the new circuit boards but they are not wired and I have no instructions so I have no clue how the install them. Anyways I'd like my kid to familiarise with the standard equipment so his truck wouldn't be too much "toy like". I mean I could say he has a truck like dad!! (yes I know it sounds a bit cheesy). I feel kinda gulity to drive my TXT in his face and I don't want to get him a RadioShack thing. I can build him a better quality truck and even a QD ThunderShot. Thanks for the help guys... Cant wait to have the time to do this.
  4. So I have some ESC's that I can use. I 'm not sure they can handle 4 cells though. Do you thing a 7.2volt pack would be too much for the QD motor? What about using a ESC with a current limitter?
  5. This is great thanks. I do some testing. I guess the tamtech stuff is pretty hard to find right? and probably pricey too. Thanks for the help.
  6. Hi guys I have enough new parts to build my son a QD midnight pumpkin. I'd like to instal regular radio equipment in there. I know that the QD servo is the standard size but the motor is much smaller. I was wondering if a normal ESC would handle such a small motor with a 4 cell battery. If not I am wondering if I could instal an ESC for mini cars as they use small motors too. I just don't want to have to put AA batteries in this thing all the time and this would be a good introduction to the hobby for my kid... before he get to drive my TXT...! Any thought on this? thanks for any help.
  7. Hi there I have a whole bunch of crystals for Tamiya ACOMS radio that I want to sell. I was wondering if they would fit on Futaba radio equipment. I remember the ACOMS radio were quite like the Futaba ones. Thanks for any help.
