  1. that pic makes it look like he sees something in the road (or sand) infront of him
  2. put some mesh screen over the intake opening. screen door mesh should work fine. that should be about the effect you want. also, paint the inside of the intake black. it will help the effect more.
  3. ok, I'm watching a Bolink Invader on ebay and I would like to know how wide they are as the stock body doesn't quite suit my style. also, would standard oval car tires fit? if so, that would help greatly in finding new shoes for the thing. if it is a 230-235mm wide body then my body choices will increade exponentialy as the owner of a hobby shop has an entire wall of nothing but old 1:10 pan car width parma, bolink, and AE bodies, most of the unpainted ones going for about $18 a pop. good times, eh?
  4. ok, thanks! that means that I can go all out when designing the paint scheme on mine. sometimes not having something to on is a good thing!
  5. ok, seeing as I just got an RS4 rally and wanted to do something a little different with it, and then saw the HPI Porsche Cayenne Turbo, and remembered the tires off of a Tamiya Hilift or a 'jero, I figured that I would ask if anyone actualy raced a Porsche Cayenne offroad, prehaps in the same class as say, a Pajero Evo or a VW Toureg? what about in the Dakar races? if so, are there any pics of the thing?
  6. that guy sure can control that much power pretty good! espicaly when he gets slideways!
  7. well, my pro se seemed to have thick cut FRP shock towers, but pics would help us greatly.
  8. would a larger BL motor be a better choice? I don't mean like hacker C50 large, but something larger than what you've got now. if you don't want to step up to a physicaly larger motor, I'd go for a Mamba Max 7700. 7700 RPM per volt, times 7.2 volts, should push you to some pretty high speeds. if I were you I'd also try to lighten the car a little bit more. better power to weight ratio. or, step up to a lipoly pack (don't run a 3s on the 7700 tho, as it will over-rev the motor and voild warranty), using a 7700 motor. that should give you some serious speed, and the power to weight ratio will be way up there. if you run the mamba max and want to stay with NIMH/Nicad cells, I'd recomend adding as many cells as you can fit on that chassis. hey, that's the way the RC speed challenge cars do it, so why wouldn't it work for your alpine? EDIT: and the rc speed challenge cars will go over 100 MPH. that's fast
  9. well, I got back from racing a few hours ago and let me say that I finished dead last. my car could keep up with the other guys in a straight line, but where I really sucked was the turns. there was way too much rear wheel hop and I kept missing turns and hopping the barriers. but I did have fun! the mini class was hilarious to watch (it wasn't minis like M18s and MRS4s, it was mini-ts and RC18Ts and stuff). in the main (aka the final race for the mini class that day) the feild was all mini-ts. and they were spinning out so much. I was just standing there, in my corner martialing place, laughing my butt off while cheering on some people. and then there was stadium and nitro touring. both of those were fun to watch
  10. I can sort of understand his reasoning for not taking the offer, but at the same time I have to tell him how stupid he was. I mean, you offered him $200 plus shipping! if that had been me, I would have said OK and given you my paypal for you to send payment and asked for your address so that I would know where to send it! of course, if I had a SRB I wouldn't be selling it, but you get the idea
  11. well, the body is the pre-painted/trimmed/stickered one that came with the TL-01RA Subaru Impreza Rally of Great Britain kit (aka my TL-01) so I'm not sure. plus, this will also be a basher with a quick tire change, so I'd prefer not to use the lightweight chassis. I might get the carbon prop shaft tho(not sure the purpose of the carbon gear shafts tho, as they stay still while the gears rotate around them)
  12. you know that you can get a velociti BL system in down to less than 4 turns? if I were you I'd try the 4.5 turn velociti. if that doesn't work, try the 3.5 turn. if it still doesn't work, say sod it and get an armature and some wire and wrap 5 strands of wire around the armature once. it would be a 1 turn quint motor! also, get a no turn limit ESC. you'll need it with those kind of winds. I wouldn't be suprised to see the motor pulling in excess of 70,000 RPM with those kind of winds. if that doesn't work, get a Hacker C-50 and a better ESC and some better batts. the C-50 is an airplane inrunner sensorless BL motor that is designed for speed 600 size airplanes. if it can't propel your little M-02 to breakneck speeds then nothing short of a turbine jet engine will. ofcourse, that might be a good idea...
  13. ok, I know it might sound a bit strange, but this is my TL-01 that will make its racing debut tomorrow in stock class touring. since I know that I stand no chance with a 19 turn sportwerks motor and stock gears, I switched over the CO27 pro motor from my T-Tech and got a speed tuned gear set, as well as some anti wear grease for the rear diff (had a bit of a spinning out problem). the thing should fly. here are the pics: my current mods are: bearings 3racing Kyosho V-ONE S oil shocks Hitec HS-625MG servo long span suspension (well, it came with this, and the stainless hinge pins, and the ajustable upper arms) Novak XRS ESC Airtronics Blazer Sport radio Trinity CO27 Pro stock motor speed tuned gear set anti wear grease filled rear diff amber tamiya grease filled front diff stock gearing HPI Pro compound X-Pattern Belted radials on Proline Speed 10 rims it should fly like an eagle and have as much traction as fly paper!
  14. is there anything you don't know terry? thanks for the info man!
  15. right. I've got one (the truck) and it is indi front, horrible suspension travel, solid axle rear, even worse travel, the turning radius sucks, but they are pretty nippy. I'd put speed about even with a stock MLST. not sure about the buggy tho. and the truck is definitely not 4WD. and the buggy doesn't look it either. you can't have 4WD with no front driveshafts!
  16. your daughter has good taste as far as color choice and hopups go. I like blue. did your daughter paint that or did you?
  17. they are, but drop a center spool in one and expect to roast front and rear diffs. that is one area where losi fell short on its face. wait until the GPM gears are in good circulation before getting one
  18. ok, I'm looking for some new T-Tech streetwise body posts. anyone know where to get them?
  19. it is in need of new leaf springs, I know that much.
  20. odd, my 3racing Kyosho V-One S shocks are amazing quality (yes, they will fit on a TL-01 and probably a TA-05 if the '05 uses the same length shocks as the TL-01)
  21. thanks, now to google it and see what comes up EDIT: found one, is 3900 japanese yen a good price for one? its on back order, so I might have to wait a while, but they also carry ABC hobby bodies
  22. ok, I am interested in the lancia 037 rally, but I would prefer one in lexan without the rally lights. does anyone make something like this? thanks in advance
  23. 1.5 hours of group B rally greatness! I found this on a rally forum that I'm a member on, and I thought that you guys might like it
  24. oddly enough, to me the front end looks relatively fine. I'm sure the bulkheads up front are tweaked to an extent, but from the views that you showed mainly what I see that needs replacing is the rear bulkheads, the upper chassis, the lower chassis, the spur gear (looks a bit tweaked) the rear shocks and the rear shock tower, and ofcourse the wheels and body and motor. speaking of the body, is there any way that you could pop that back into something that resembles its original shape? man, I feel sorry for you. I almost had that happen with a few of my cars. some of the girls from up the street, nomatter what the car looks like, always say that it is ugly and some times have actualy tried to step on my cars. thankfully they've missed every time. I also had one little neighborhood kid drive my mini-giant once and he would not get it out of the street nomatter how many times I asked him to. had a car been coming, it very well could have had an ending simmilar to your Xray. thankfully another friend who I let drive my cars ( A ) knows very well what they cost and ( B ) lives on a short dead-end street, so thus very limited traffic
  25. get something like a stadium blitzer and BLify it.
