you see, the whole reason I've been looking over the TA-05IFS EBBRO BTEC Maziora 350R is because it is unique, because it looks different from everything else I've seen on track at the races. I don't want my car to look like everyone else's car. if I can take a unique car or an uncommonly seen car and take it to the track I'll make every effort to do so. the ONLY reason I'd even consider running one of the clone cars (mazda6, pontiac G6, alfa romeo, dodge stratus, ect) is to make a replica of a real car, and there are only a select few clone car bodies out there that share a bodystyle with a full scale race car. I like for my car to stand out on track. if the only way I can tell one body from the other is the headlight and grille stickers then I won't buy it even if it was the same body Masami Hirosaka or some other pro driver used to drive to the win at the worlds. form may follow function but if function causes 5 or 6 different bodies to have the same general form then form follows function is broken in my mind

anyway, other than being able to use low nose bodies, there isn't any performance gain from the IFS setup on the TA-05IFS? would the decrease in unsprung weight have any effect on handling compared to a regular TA-05? and would the suspension setups be about the same for both?

My dream r/c car list can be narrowed down to a Superior Racing SRP-1, Tamiya TRF411X, Hirobo Jealousy or Tech Racing Voggerd GT.
My current wants list runs to about 20 cars.
not quite sure what you see in the TRF411X but the SRP-1, the Jealousy, and the Voggerd GT are all awesome cars. I now want a Voggerd GT and a few days the Tamiya America roadcourse to tune it on

I had the last race of the season at the local Hobbytown USA, ultimately dropping out due to a flat pack and excessive glitching, finishing 5th out of 6 behind someone else who dropped out due to parts breakage, then i drooled over more modern TCs and dang near fried a keyboard drooling over the TA-05IFS chassis (and BTEC Maziora body)

So, What Have You Done Today?
-
ok, after a relatively poor showing at the races today and looking over my RS4 rally and the fact that it was struggling for grip in rally trim which is easiest to drive for me I've decided to move onto a more modern design for racing, and have my eyes on the TA-05IFS EBBRO BTEC Maziora. I run stock touring, if it makes a difference. the other cars on track are mainly TC3s and TC4s, with the occasional Xray or losi TC. how is the TA-05IFS platform as far as TCs go? the whole reason I'm looking at it so keenly is the fact that it's different. if I do go with the TA-05IFS I'll be using the Maziora or the SC430 that can be had on the platform. I'm not experienced enough to notice the difference of how air flows over the body, so having the best handling cookie cutter produced body out there means absolutely nothing to me. I'm more concerned with how well the chassis handles and how well it can put power to the ground. if it can't do either of those well then I'll go back to looking at cookie cutters, but I sincerely hope I don't have to. opinions on the TA-05IFS?

Hey Slyp Dawg, is your friend ok?
yes, she is. she was in the ROTC program at tech, so I'm not suprised that she is unharmed. releived, but not suprised.

Earlier today a gunman broke into a co-ed dorm and a classroom at Virginia Tech, killing at least 31 people. I figure that you all have already heard this, but it struck me close to home, as I am friends with a girl who goes to tech as well as her parents. I sincerely hope she isn't one of the 31 dead. I truly feel sorry for those who have lost loved ones in the tragedy this morning. the whole thing is a chilling echo of the Columbine shooting 8 years ago, with the gunman going on a killing spree, then killing himself. I heard about this earlier today during homeroom, but the full impact just hit me while watching a news report. There is virtually nothing the school could have done to prevent this, as it is nearly unheard of for someone to break into a university and go on a killing spree. Some things you just can not prepare for or against, this being one of them. There will always be people who do this kind of stuff, and there isn't much that can be done to keep them from commiting atrocities such as this, at least not without taking away freedoms, but I still hope that the law enforcement officers of America and the world can find a way to cut down on large scale violent crime such as this. I understand that everyone has a breaking point, in fact I wholeheartedly support this fact, but to take out your angers or troubles by killing 30 plus innocent people is an atrocity. My prayers go out to all the people affected by this tragedy.

oh my god! that thing is amazing! you need to get that into SA man! I'd get it just for that thing! ofcourse, if you could get it in 4x4 evo I'd greatly appreciate it, as convincing the 'rents to let me get that game is alot easier than convincing them to let me get SA
-
I say get all of the stuff previously mentioned, like CCVT camera, secitury lights, ect, but keep a gun in the house, just in case all of that does not deter these chavs and they manage to get into your house, you can defend yourself. at the very least invest in a nice metal baseball bat or a golf club, even if you want nothing to do with either sport. a pair of play handcuffs wouldn't hurt either, so after you rend one of the chavs unable to do anything you can handcuff him and prevent him from going anywhere before the police get there

ok. so shipping to the eastern US for the miata and the bearing set would be about what?
-
I know, but the car/shipping ratio is what kept me from getting one of RCmart's kits. the person who gives me the thumbs up/thumbs down on whether or not I can order something saw the $135 price leap up to $180 when shipping was added and said no. I'll try to convinvce them that it is still cheaper than tower, even with shipping, but I'm not sure how much good that will do
-
ok, I'm trying to figure out what the shipping on the Mazda Eunos Roadster and the M-04 bearing set is, thus leading be to wonder how shipping is calculated. I do not have an account on stella, as if I end up getting the Eunos it will be my first order from them, so the "go through the checkout to find out the shipping" idea won't work, as you've got to log in in order to see the shipping cost. I've had experience with another shop that is from the same area as you guys (RCmart) and evidently they calculate their shipping based on a hefty percentage of the item cost, and I was wondering if stella uses the same thing. the main reason I'm asking is because the shipping cost is pretty much the deciding factor in whether or not I order the miata and the bearings from stella. if the shipping costs on stella's ebay store are any indication as to what the website will charge, or if they are exactly what the site charges, I won't get the thing from stella, as I can't justify spending only $8 bux less for shipping than for the kit cost. oh yeah, and if it makes any difference, I am on the east coast of the U.S.

Need a good ESC for a TL-01 that can handle an 11 turn motor, any suggestions?
I suggest a Hitec HFX-R. roughly $60 for a 10 turn limit ESC. pretty good footprint, too. I'm running one in my T-Tech chassis, and it is pretty good! here's a link: Hitec HFX-R ESC. there is also a foreward only version that comes sans connectors for the same price.

me think wheels are purdy. me hopes wheels aren't gold, as that would not be good for the track. scratched gold, unlike unscratched gold, does not look purdy. if I get one I'll prolly get one body set/sticker set for the shelf, one rim set for the shelf (and the included tires), and another body/sticker/rim set for the track. I would really want to mount an onboard camera tho. I just think that it would make the track action alot more intense. I hope it is out by next summer, as I'd like to show them new fangled Xrays and AEs what a porsche can do! espicaly a porsche on BL (Novak SS430) and lipoly (8000MaH 2 cell lipoly). ofcourse, I would run a Spektrum so I don't have to cut up that purdy body more than I have to. I hope it has a mount for a handout transponder on the chassis! I don't want to obstruct the view of the onboard camera with a big honking red square, and I don't want to have the purdy porsche (which may end up in Jaegermeister livery) to have a big honking red square sticking out of the windsheild! I will not stand for the fuzzy dice look for a porsche lol!

with the price, the thing looks to be basicly a shortened 415MS chassis. those aren't cheap either. if the wheels are infact aluminum, that would drive the cost up too. plus the fact that the body is made using "new methods" which certainly can't be cheap, I can easily see how this thing could hit those prices. anyone got an ETA on it? I hope it is out by christmas. this may end up being my first major comp-grade TC. did Tasian ever sponsor a Porsche 934?
-
I'd say do with a 414/415/415MS/whatever and run the amarid fiber belts. it also wouldn't hurt to try to fit a 48 pitch spur gear to prevent lunching that, tho I doubt taht a 48 pitch would fit
-
I've seen that one before. I know that ABC hobby makes some 190mm and M-chassis sized lancias, but none of those will fit on a pan car or a 1:10 buggy.
-
ok, I'm just wondering, but does/did anyone make a lancia stratos for either 1:10 buggies, 1:10 pan cars, or wide TCs (wide being like 235mm or so)?
-
hm. the second one looks very odd. no clue what it is
-
well, a high KV BL outrunner motor and one of old busted hottness's motor adaptors (a while back he was selling some on another forum, not sure if he has any listed here or if he is still selling them tho) and some deans should work. plus, wheelspin won't be an issue (outrunners are VERY high torque, but it is controled, so a RWD buggy with one won't wheelie)
-
must have that body! wonder how well it'd fit on my T-Tech chassis?
-
mine, albiet overprice, would have probably been my RS4 rally roller (minus shocks, plus dead TRX servo and mabuichi motor) for about $65-70. kit retailed for about $200+, minus motor and servo. building it from new bought parts would have costed a hair under $300. I think I got a good deal, right?
-
use my SN however you want. here's a suggestion:
"Slyp Dawg Skidplates. Slyping over the rocks since 2006"
-
my personal preference is a more detailed light armored vehicle or a Hummer H1 Alpha. or a haflinger or a Pinzgauer. ofcourse, a Dodge Ram Larame Hemi wouldn't be too bad either [

ok, my friend has a JR Beat 2 CX, sans RX, in pretty much mint condition. how much is it probably worth? all I want is a ballpark figure. thanks in advance!

I hate the track when...

when the track designer puts a chicane on the timing loop and cuts the track width nearly in half doing so. never seen a T4 on foams slide so much trying to get through 1 corner. the track layout was just fine prior to the change, but with the change I really struggled. they used a Hyper Hobbies Road Rail to cover up the wire going from the wall to the begining of the timing loop, but the timing loop only counted from the end of said road rail to the other side of the track section, so if you pushed wide and hopped the rail your lap doesn't count, which sucked. I can understand making the timing loop so narrow for stadium and mini but not touring, as my car was the only one remotely capable of jumping it and when I tried in practice I endo'd
