  1. I have been getting fed up with having to buy a new set of wheels for each set of tyres; I have tried boiling rims & tyres but never seemed to get good results. I recently used a hot melt glue gun, at first the results were not good, as the tyres were not 'true' to the rims, but then I boiled the wheel & tyre assembly, so that the glue melted again and the tyre sits on the rim nice & true. There was an excess of glue on the outside of the rim but that soon came off buy peeling it back. I haven't really abused the tyres, but they are staying on after a few runs and there are no signs of damage. The tyres I have used are the Type A reinforced slicks on standard rims. Has anybody else tried this?.
  2. Thanks, for the advise, I have already tried the highest (number) ratio that I can and the top speed dropped, although as expected the acceleration was better, so the question is is this typical for this type of car/ motor set up, am I expecting to much from it?.
  3. I have a TA04R, I have tried various different motors including a twist 47 brushless (unfortunately not mine). I have just stepped up from a 'non tunable' 15 turn to the supermodified 11T by Tamiya, and was dissapointed with the results, I have tried different gearing from about 8:1 down to about 5.6:1, but it wont go significatly faster,(36mph) I am about to try a dnya run motor as it seems to have more torque & simular RPM all this is controlled by a LRP F1 limitless controller. anybody got any ideas, Also if anybody is interested the twist47 propelled it to a top speed of 46 mph using 7.2v 3300gp pack, we verified this but venom speed meter & a speed trap.

  6. I am rebuilding a Top Force that I have bought from ebay, so far I have added new ball bearings a front one-way diff, Fibrelite rear shock mount, Skyline sport tuned gear set and have two motors to try a techingold & a Sport tuned. I have a problem with the front shock mount. I have a new fibrelite item but no-way of connecting it to the chassis, the car came with the Manta ray mount. the sprue that the piece comes from is J parts, I Think theses are very rare, does anybody have any suggestions?. I am going to try and mill one out of aluminium, but this is a long way off. (whilst im there I will try and make an ali motor mount as well).
