  1. AYK Pro Radiant A cool retro chain driven 4WD buggy from the early 90s. The car was bought when it was released and has been built and run only once. In the intervening years the shocks have emptied and one of the spring cups, the gear and motor covers, the wing wire and buttons, the plastic battery straps and pinion have vanished. The tyres are perished but in one piece. The body wasn't cut out that well, but can be salvaged, it is unpainted. It has instructions and decals with a few missing and the inserted letter from Race Prep. Apart from the faults mentioned it's in pretty good shape. It is really dusty. The box is sadly currently missing. Any offers?
  2. I'd still be interested in an RS200 shell. I've been keeping an eye on the Frewer shells thread. Elliott.
  3. I've replaced the Tamiya grease in the diffs of my Egress (the diffs share the same internals) with Team Associated's diff grease and it is so much looser and smoother compared to how it used to be in the Egress and my Madcap diff is as well.. Elliott.
  4. Have you sold all 20 shells yet Alex? Will they come with the rear wing? I don't want one (I'm holding out for an RS200), I'm just curious. What chassis will people be using? I think my Egress will be just too long for most of the shells sadly. I'll buy the shell THEN get the chassis. I dug out my old model car mags and I've got a couple of rallycross articles if anyone is interested. Sadly I don't have the issue with the very first rallycross article from Southend (?). Elliott.
  5. Yup, I've had a Wild One phase and I've just had a small hankering for a Monster Beetle. The fact I didn't give in to these two classics, doesn't make me much of a collector does it? Elliott.
  6. Nope, car is still bullet proof. Hit many tree roots and logs a full speed without breaking. I still love it. Elliott.
  7. Mine are OK still. Try Team BlueStar for replacements. Best bearings ever. Elliott.
  8. I use a 19 turn Spec motor (a Peak V2), the kit spur and a 25 tooth pinion. Elliott.
  9. Thanks for letting me know. I'm glad this is all going ahead. Elliott.
  10. Hello, I'd be interested in an RS200 shell. Can I order from the initial batch of the RS200s that are being made or will I have to wait for a second batch. Do you have a price for the shells yet? Elliott.
  11. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/article.asp?id=85 Is this a fluorescent green that hasn't come out in the photos or is it a lime green? Can someone with an encyclopedic knowledge of Tamiya paints tell me the PS code for the paint? I've loved the Egress since I saw the review and may do a new shell in the colour. Thankyou. Elliott.
  12. There is a thread: http://tamiyaclub.com/CS/forums/thread/158898.aspx Elliott.
  13. Good pics Glenn.
  14. Ace Ace Ace Ace Ace. All four cars ran well. One failure. Nice sticky mud. Thanks to the south coast contingent for coming up with their shiny 3-speeds and Steve, and the guy who walked from the station for coming the distance. Also to the chap with the F350 and the boy in the buggy. Of course thanks to our Dunk for pinning down the date and finding a good spot. I had a good day. Elliott.
  15. Ne'er mind Ryck. Thanks for your interest. This bash is worth the trip, there is lots of cool stuff to do. If you are undecided, come down. I've got tonnes of batteries, so I'll be going all afternoon. Elliott.
  16. That's a real shame Allie. Have a good weekend. Myself and Dunk will be there, along with a friend of mine who will be borrowing my cars. Dunk has a friend coming along too. A couple of the core members won't be going currently. I'm charging batteries now. So I will be going rain or shine. Elliott.
  17. Fusion Hobbies in the UK have served me well for kit based spares (broken rear gearboxes). Communicative, friendly service. In spite of the problems people have had with the official distributor, Fusion's distributor (if it is the official distributor or not) has been on the ball. (salutes) Elliott.
  18. So, the bash is this weekend on Sunday, just north of Reading in Berkshire. Who is up for it? I've just received some nice new tyres for a couple of the cars and bar some battery charging I'm ready to go. My fleet will be a Lunchbox (original, because it makes a difference), a Madcap (completely baggy and wobbly, but so much fun), my Dark Impact (sturdy and quite fast) and my new Egress (stealthy quiet, smooth, stable and agile). To trade there will be a Tamiya Vanquish, with a white shell in remarkably good condition. Elliott.
  19. Ah, the big stuff. Sorry I can't help. Elliott.
  20. I've got some Ryck. 3Racing turnbuckles and a Tamiya front way ooh and a front hinge pin brace. If you are coming to the Reading Bash, I'll bring them up. Elliott.
  21. Ballistic RC via Wings'n'wheels in the UK (a shop which is closing imminently, but the Ballistic RC wheels and tyres will apparently still be available through UK shops) do some marvellous 2.2" 5 spoke wheels for Tamiya cars, front and rear, 2wd and 4wd. I have some on my Madcap and they do the job and look good with it. A web search should get you some details. Elliott.
  22. You see Allie, my second thought would be that some peoples Xtals would be hard to get at. There was that incident with the shiny RR... Elliott.
  23. Seeing as we're going to be a bit more busy than normal and this was a problem a couple of times before, shall we declare a tranny frequency and then use the same one throughout the day, swapping between cars? Or shall we just pile in as normal? Elliott. p.s. In terms of trades, I've got a Vanquish runner in **** good condition (White shell, good condition tyres, std motor and manual speedo included, if anyone is interested. p.p.s. Getting a bit excited.
  24. Technically only the standard DI and Keen Hawk will fit as the two cars use the same chassis. Elliott.
  25. couldn't-reply-on-home-computer. ******. I'm glad you and your Dad are thinking of coming down Ryck. The site is a little theatre of different terrains. It's a central bombhole with a flat clay based dirt area behind it set in a leafy glade surrounded by a wood and playing fields. There is a small skateboard area by the carpark as well. The bombhole has a muddy bog at the bottom and quite steep sides, also in the bottom of the hole is a nice jump, if you drop in off the edge of the bombhole, down the steep side you can get a good speed over the jump. The surrounding clay based dirt area is really dusty in the summer, so you can get some good rally style power slides and rooster tails. But at this time of year you will have the sticky mud. Separating two dirt areas is a smaller slightly more usable bombhole, where most of the jumping action occurs. Again dropping in one side and hitting the lip on the other side you can get some pretty good air. Tree roots in some areas are a BIG problem, but not for a Lunchbox - apparently. I'm guessing that currently most of the leaves will have gone and the mud will be thick but not nasty. The boggy area will be very boggy. Elliott.
