  1. Ooooh-kay. I'm breaking lurker cover here. I'm interested... :)

A couple of questions then. I'd like to go the crazy balls out mod chassis route rather than a stock chassis or a crawler.

    1. What is the cheapest way to get a standard Clod? eBay or one of the kits from a shop?

    2. What is best aftermarket chassis on the market? I'm after low slung and cool. Would a crawler chassis actually do the job here? Am I looking at a Clodzilla IV or one of the Junfac chassis:

The stealth chassis looks good but is out of stocks. The other chassis seem to do much the same thing but which is the best. Or is the 'Zilla a better option?

    Thanks for your advice.

  2. The mud around here is getting ****tier and ****tier. It's even getting on the roads. Can I recommend some heavy water proofing for Sunday.

I'll think about you when I'm in the warm and dry in Newbury. I'm sorry I've got to get my carpet racing groove on.

  3. 'ello Ryck,

I'm sure if your dad has had the same experiences of Fuel Cells as me he won't want to talk about them. :-)

Say Hello to him for me.

Guys, I have a big decision to make on the 20th, unless you want to break out the racer buggies and join me in the warm and dry of Newbury?

  4. The problem with building an Egress from parts or indeed from a cheaper donor car like a Vanquish or Avante 2001 is that all the parts are so expensive it's not cost effective. I know because I tried to upgrade a Vanquish to Egress spec and adding up the cost of the parts and donor car it would cost 200-300.

Also an Egress isn't an Egress without the front lower shock mounts (they help make the Egress shocks more upright) and they are incredibly rare.

It's actually probably cheaper, quicker and easier to get a complete good condition Egress. Bide your time, bid smart on eBay and you can pick up some real bargains.

  5. If they do rerelease the Astute, they will be making a few more pairs of those rear Hybrid spike tyres, that because they also are the kit rear tyres for the Egress have been going for over 40 a pair on eBay.

A cool retro chain driven 4WD buggy from the early 90s.

The car was bought when it was released and has been built and run only once. In the intervening years the shocks have emptied and one of the spring cups, the gear and motor covers, the wing wire and buttons, the plastic battery straps and pinion have vanished. The tyres are perished but in one piece. The body wasn't cut out that well, but can be salvaged, it is unpainted. It has instructions and decals with a few missing and the inserted letter from Race Prep. Apart from the faults mentioned it's in pretty good shape. It is really dusty.

The box is sadly currently missing.

    Any offers?

    Elliott.
