  1. I think the old old saying goes, "They just don't make em' like they used to!" I love the vintage kits because they were more complex, had many metal parts, were packaged better, and they bring back many childhood memories. The modern kits of today are made of mostly plastic. I still like the modern kits but there was more variety with the vintage kits.

  2. I thought that most nitro cars do not go in reverse unless it has a reverse module installed in it. As far as I know, my TG10 does not go in reverse. Pulling back on the throttle is for applying the brakes. You may just need to do some adjusting on your engine needle so that it won't stall when you apply the brakes. It is kinda hard to get it just right, but if ya play around with it long enough, you will get it!

  3. I remember Sears selling them!! That is great and brought back memories of the Sears Wish Book! I remember they had the Falcon, Grasshopper, and Hornet. I also remember Kay-Bee toy store also had the Grasshopper and Falcon as complete kits.

The Brat actually looks like a cheap toy in that picture!

  4. Airbrushing is definitly the way to go. Once you get he hang of it, you will love it. Also, be sure to waer a mask or cover your mouth and nose while airbrushing! I used to do it without any protection and when I would blow my nose, it would look like a rainbow in the tissue! haha! Not to mention I would get horrible headaches as well!

  5. I am not sure if Tamiya ever made these available for sale. The kit came with 2 bodies, 1 was finished with the grill, windows, and headlight decals already applied. The other body was clear and didn't come with any decals for it. I will look around, but I don't think they are available.

  6. I just thought I would bring this thread back to life again to make sure that everyone's differences are settled!! LOL! Just kidding! I just read through this whole thread again and it was actually very amusing! I never even noticed that Quedex called me stupid at the beginning of this thread! I guess it is too late now to respond to that! haha!

  7. I have been talking with 2 very loyal collectors over the past few weeks and they are leaving the hobby as well! :-( One needs the money to stay afloat and the other one just says it isn't as much fun the 2nd time around! They are both selling their entire collections. I, myself, will be cutting back on the collecting as well because I am saving for a house! But I am not leaving the hobby completely...just scaling down a bit!
