Yes, Torchingchub or something like that was his name. He kept saying that the item was sent, but it took six weeks or so before it arrived. The postal date was stamped on the envelope, and it showed that the package had only taken one week to send. When I was about to leave feedback he was not a registered user on eBay anymore. Here is thread earlier this year about possible fraudelent eBayers producing and selling metal SS parts in Thailand: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?...iland&st=20 I bought a product from a seller called Supertoyvintage7777. I never received the item and I got my money back. Some months later I tried my chances again and bought a SS bumper from another seller in Thailand. I do not remember his username. I checked his feedback before buying and it was OK, with many satisfied buyers. After weeks of waiting I got the item, and it was fine. But for some reason his account was closed by eBay shortly after. Cheers Fritjof

The Fox Replica: The Killer!

Yes, the plastic seems brittle. Even after little use many parts are broken (uprights, chassis, lower arms etc.). Cheers Fritjof -
The Fox Replica: The Killer!
fritjofarnold replied to fritjofarnold's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
There are no visible Tamiya logos, but I have compared many of the plastic mouldings with the Fox and they are identical I asked my friend if he could remember where this car came from. He said he got is as a free sample from a company in Taiwan. All the best Fritjof -
I like it! It looks modern and fresh. I would have moved the left frame completely to the left and stretch the main frame further to the right, though. But maybe it is just on my computer it shows like this. Your site contains lots of useful information, so it is great to see that you are keeping up your good work, Lars Cheers Fritjof

The Fox Replica: The Killer!
fritjofarnold replied to fritjofarnold's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Thanks for your help here, guys! I wonder if the producers of replicas like this ever had any lawsuits Cheers Fritjof -
Hi TCers When I was younger I had the Fox. A very good friend of mine had a similar car called The Killer and we used to run these cars against each other. I sold my Fox, while he kept his buggy. Now some 25 years later, he asked me if it wanted it. Being a huge fan of the Foxes I gladly accepted. Here are some photos of it. Obviously the Killer is a copy of the Fox. Lots of parts are identical and it seems like they have used the same mould. Therefore, many parts are interchangeable with the Fox. It has some improvements like a strong metal rear roll cage. It has also front and rear sway bars. The body is cut behind the rear window and the wing is little bit different, so are the wheels and bumpers. They have done their best to masquerade the box, using same colors and break throughs as Tamiya. I do not know who produced the Killer. I have not found any information on the net either, nor is the name or the address of the producer mentioned on the box. They have removed the Tamiya logo on the mechanism box. Any information you have about the Killer is appreciated! Have a nice weekend! Fritjof

I agree, Paul. Many who have collected vintage RC Tamiyas have used the investment aspect as an excuse either for themselves, spouse, others. But now with the rerelease SS I expect some collectors will get cold feet and even sell their whole collection. Fritjof

Could be an original body placed on the rerelase? An exciting day! Fritjof

You could try persuading him to get out voluntarily. If that does not work you could try "Label off" spray sold at Biltema which removes glue. Cheers Fritjof

Acoms were usually included in Tamiya deals here in Norway. Cheers Fritjofarnold

Difference Between Srb Chassis
fritjofarnold replied to veedweeb's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
The servo savers were also changed. The first version saver is quite tight around the servo saver spring while the other is larger in this area allowing the spring to fit more easily. The fixing hole for the body post and servo saver had to be put further back on the later chassis giving extra clearance. Two small holes were later drilled into the mechanism box lid. People have also commented on the colour of the radio boxes, some very light and clear and others slightly more tinted. The gear box covers changed. The new cover was made a little larger, which means that the earlier cover did not fit the new gear box. The color of the bumper with or without buggy/bugy and text written on. You can also visit my showroom where I have described and taken photos of the differances. Fritjofarnold -
That was high. I will put the extra mk1 I got on ebay now too. Fritjofarnold

Do you also have the right pinion on the motor and using the motor collars (two small bearings, these are not shown on the SWB manual here on Tamiyaclub)? Fritjof

Vintage Hotshot 1 - Is This A Prototype?
fritjofarnold replied to Jack_Truck's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Hi. In my showroom I have compared the Mk1 and Mk2 Hot shot. I have never seen the parts in question like this on either of them (except the resistors and wires which can be Supershot/Fox ones). It must be some kind of prototype. Did you by the way get any answer from Tamiya? I will watch this on the bay -

Differances Rear Arms Supershot Or Hotshot

Yes, you are right. I just checked my Hotshot Mk1. I was not aware of these differances on the arms. I have made a comparison between the Mk1 and 2 in my showroom and I will update that with some photos. -

Differances Rear Arms Supershot Or Hotshot
fritjofarnold posted a topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Hi fellow TCers. I stumbled across these rear under arms a while ago and noticed they are slightly different. I reckon both are for the Hotshot or Supershot, but while one arm has a complete flat side, the other has a small elevated "dent". Does anybody know why they are different? Is one maybe for the Mk1 Hotshot, the other for the Mk2 or Supershot? Any help appreciated -
Ah, that is great! Thanks Nige Cheers Fritjof

Maybe a stupid question, but how and where do you manage and remove your attachments? Thanks. Cheers Fritjofarnold
