  1. My 501X is a beast with gear diffs, forget the ball diff stuff son..
  2. I figured this would be the best 4WD for you, glad I can help. Look above and click my link
  3. Honestly, 98% of Tamiya kits makes my 'never buy list'
  4. I am lazy, check my showroom below.
  5. Mr Cossie, are you planning to buy a King Cab for the shelf? Or run it?? Some inspration, I built this King Cab from spares - My stock KC
  6. You're funny. I guess I'm a little tired and my post was misleading. What I was saying is, I've placed three orders from Banzai and was never dissapointed with service/shipping.
  7. Response for OP- Personally, I like Banzai and the fast shipping they provide at no extra cost. Purchased some TRF parts 5 or 6 months ago, and got the package to my front door in 4 days after placing order.
  8. I wish our tracks were that clean here in Las Vegas (mostly soft clay/mud etc)... In the end of the day of racing, if you can smile and have fun throughout the chaos of racing it is well worth my it my friend .... Believe me, I know
  9. Well, suffering from insomnia here, when will this buggy be available? The Egress (and TF EVO) is my dream retro buggy. I wonder how much $$$$$ it will cost to get one in my stable. 500 $'s is alot, I might pass eventhogh a TRF502 is in the same ballpark (I'd prefer a 502). Kinda flustered at the moment.... Well, my wallet is open regardardless
  10. I used a spare touring car alloy hex, dremeled the outside hole slightly to fit on the axle correctly (as it would not slide past the lip of the axle). You will need the concave pin washer and 'N' shim possibly, I use the optional large diameter pin washer and no 'N' shim.. And like speedy said, I also use the serrated nuts. Pic below. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/33/cigg.jpg/
  11. Ooooh, Percymon you have the sexy carbon battery strap. I noticed everything else in that upgrade kit has a part number except the battery strap.
  12. Great purchase! A few friends and myself got that buggy also from TamiyaUSA, can't beat $183.99 free S&H....
  13. I wonder if he give discounts for those who have an EVO III Surikarn. Beautiful facility, I'm amazed !! Wish we had this in Las Vegas.
  14. This podium finish is big for Tamiya/TRF offroad program. Congrats to Lee for his all around effort in both 2WD and 4WD. If TRF wants to go further, they will need another ace pilot to ride shotgun with Martin.
  15. Now time to order hop ups, tires, electronics...........
  16. When it comes to TX I go with something that is up to date and will last. Recently bought an Airtronics MX-3X 2.4ghz and love it, very light (only 4 AA batts), has all the advanced goodies like the M11X and shares the same SUPA FAST 2.4 circuitry, 3 channels, looks cool, easy to navigate, and it holds 18 model memories (which is overkill as it will be used for my 417, 501X, and 201)... My Airtronics M8 w/Novak Swiitch module (13yrs old) is still a fantastic radio and will be used for vintage runners like my King Cab etc.
  17. What's good Neil? You didn't get the TRF'420' joke huh. Never said there was , going from an EVO IV to the 417 is a dream as it literally drives 10 times better (no joke). That would be nice if they are a direct fit so we don't have to shave the arms down like the stock 417's shorties....
  18. And I bought a 417 nearly a month ago .. Looks like a true upgrade over the 417 with actual new parts, thanks for the news qatmix. Since I upgrade tourers every 4-5 years, think I'll wait for the TRF420 (wonder if it will have green alloy )
  19. Always wanted an Egress, still want an Egress! Never owned an Avante series model, which causes more confliction. This feels the same as 3 years ago when I contemplated buying the re-re Sand Scorcher (FYI, I bought re-re SS). Hmmmm, TRF201 or Hairy Ogre?? Makes me wonder if a Top Force EVO will be re-released for gods sake. Now that would be a no-brainer!!!
  20. Retired my TB Evo IV due to TRF417 purchase. Saying that, I'm looking for a fun runner for parking lot racing etc.. I prefer shaft (for asphalt), which makes the TB04 so enticing.
  21. Yes, I'd get the DB01-RR for a few good reasons: -sealed drivetrain (great for dusty tracks etc) -gear diffs -big bore dampers included ($120 upgrade for all other TRF buggies) -Lipo chassis -spare parts compatible with 501X -Maintenance/accesibility is better than the 501X overall If I didn't own a 501X (fully upgraded), the DB01-RR would be my clear cut choice!! I think your sons would love it, and for the money you get a amazing buggy.
